I like to think that we mods are open and aware of different aspects and realities....as far as is possible. We are yet human....

Is there some kind of requirement where mods must be cynical and negative, which would run against the purpose of this place?

I'll say what I think- being a moderator doesn't preclude me from voicing my opinion. Freedom of speech is what Avalon is all about, or hadn't you noticed? That's why you're free to voice your opinions, no matter what I or anyone else may think of them. That's what free speech IS.

And of course you're right, Obama isn't Hitler. I didn't say he was, I was making a comparison. Hitler wasn't Stalin either, but the end result was much the same. The fact remains that the Catholic Church was right behind the fascist regime in Germany, and now it appears that a simililar situation is planned in the USA.

The military (which your constitution states should never be used as a domestic police force) will take your weapons (which your constitution states should never be taken from you) under the guise of protecting you, and the Church will do their best to make sure nobody complains or does anything about it.

If you do some research on the Nazi's rise to power you might notice a lot of striking similarities between that period in Germany and what's happening now in America and around the world.

The purpose of this place is not to big-up Obama. Just because you believe what he says doesn't mean everyone else has to, and it doesn't mean we shouldn't say that we don't either. That ISN'T free speech.

For what it's worth I'll be absolutely DELIGHTED if you're right. So lets hope that you are, for all our sakes.

I was just watching a news show and I caught a clip today about ammunition not being avail. and some strange bills regarding the 2nd amendment. a cause for concern. in addition. I do believe marshal law was mentioned. cnn or fox or something like that. aaahh yah. un-related to the clip above. I think there expecting riots over this situation.

All this talk about Obama being a saviour etc etc that i keep hearing....i'm just glad i don't live in america...i used to be a frequent visitor but hope i don't go back there anytime soon. I doubt Obama will be any kind of saviour. I think america will face some very hard times this year which even Obama will struggle to contain, assuming he even wants to try. I'm constantly appalled at what i see going on there, but i would have voted for Ron Paul, though no one else.
