This Month: THE 2009 MIDWINTER ISSUE

The month of February is full of promise. That promise is held in the visions that are born in the stillness that comes to life at this time of year. If the seasons reflect where we are with ourselves it might help us to listen to the voice that speaks silently from within — because it is from this place that our experience is about to form. The articles in this month's issue came together like snowflakes falling to the ground. Each one is a crystal that reflects a different vision. Taken together all of them form a pattern of possibilities and thoughts that will hopefully remind you to keep your feet on the ground as you pay attention to your highest wish and envision a new and better world evolving out of the dreams that we hold in our hearts right now.

Time for Action. More about 2012

By Stephen Thomson

There are so many signs pointing to the possibility of 2012 being one of the most auspicious times in recorded History. There certainly is enough buzz about it too. Living in the age of communication, there is a whole range of sources, pointing to a whole range of possibilities. For example, I was in a bookstore last week where an entire section of the store was dedicated to 2012. Then last night, when I went to see the new Harry Potter movie, I saw an advertisement for a soon to be released movie entitled 2012. How we want to participate in these changing times is a decision we need to making as this fall begins and the energies of 2012 begin to intensify.

By now, each of us has some thoughts about how 2012 is going to play out. Some of our beliefs are based on our own intuitive hits about this time. Then there are the other resources and conventional sources that create our opinions. (Be sure to check out Cal Garrison's new book — The Astrology of 2012 and Beyond — one of the best resources for 2012. Cal brings together all the astrological events and blends them with the teachings of indigenous people.) Where all roads seem to meet and where most everyone seems to agree is on the idea of this being the end times. And we know that with endings, always come new beginnings. That is the cycle of life throughout our universe.

THE "ALL SOULS ISSUE"

The Day of the Dead, All Saints Day; call it what you will. We have crossed over into the time of death and rebirth. For the old ones, what the Christians renamed, "All Souls Day" marked the beginning of the New Year. It was at that time that offerings were made to the spirits of the departed in the hopes that their blessings would shine down and sustain the visions that die and rebirth themselves during the late fall season. Thus, what we are able to individually and collectively envision for ourselves becomes very important whenever November rolls around. And it may be no accident that all of the articles and videos in this month's issue focus on group consciousness and our interconnectedness. Those of us who understand the nature of the times we're in know that it is we who are weaving the vision of the new Earth. And at the point in the yearly cycle when the next vision is in its most magical, seminal state, do we understand who we need to be in order to carry it further? If the thoughts and ideas in our November edition inspire you to let out all the stops on whatever you imagine yourself to be, it's our wish that they might also inspire you to wonder what might happen if "All Souls" opened their hearts to each other, to our infinite possibilities, and to a deeper sense of what it means to know that all of us are creators here.
