Water from the air

I was listening to Alex Jones, he had a chap on the show talking about EcoloBlue™
Which is a state-of-the-art Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) that produces purified drinking water from the humidity in the air.

That's a great idea but very expensive and only available in NA but it got me thinking that maybe a dehumidifier would do the same job, obviously wont be as good at it as the ecoloblue thing but it's a fraction of the cost and you can pick them up all over the place.
Of course it will only work with electricity.
But if water is scarce and you have electricity, solar or mains then this could be a life saver, a little bit of water is better than none.

There was a technique called Air2Water that was looking for venture capital, I think, several years ago and then distributors The machines were manufactured in Singapore and China under license. I finally gave up on getting one, because they never seemed to get off the ground. They may actually be working now. And now I'm going solar, so it's not feasible for me to have one. http://www.air2water.com


And yes, Swanny, it's a dehumidification process - but the filtering has to be really intense.

Why does the filtering has to be really intense?
If you drank it the same day surely it would be ok?

I dunno - just between reading about the filters (and the UV treatment) and seeing the inside of a dehumidifier of a friend (yuck, you don't want to go there, :mfr_omg:) I'd guess you need filters. Dust is in the air, as well as dander, and all that could have bacteria.
