Thousands rally with 'tea parties' on tax day,
ATLANTA – Whipped up by conservative commentators and bloggers, tens of thousands of protesters staged "tea parties" around the country Wednesday to tap into the collective angst stirred up by a bad economy, government spending and bailouts. The rallies were directed at President Barack Obama's new administration on a symbolic day: the deadline to file income taxes. Protesters even threw what appeared to be a box of tea bags toward the White House, causing a brief lockdown at the compound.
Shouts rang out from Kentucky, which just passed tax increases on cigarettes and alcohol, to Salt Lake City, where many in the crowd booed Republican Gov. Jon Huntsman for accepting about $1.5 billion in stimulus money. Even in Alaska, where there is no statewide income tax or sales tax, hundreds of people held signs and chanted "No more spending."
"Frankly, I'm mad as hell," said businessman Doug Burnett at a rally at the Iowa Capitol, where many of the about 1,000 people wore red shirts declaring "revolution is brewing." Burnett added: "This country has been on a spending spree for decades, a spending spree we can't afford."
In Boston, a few hundred protesters gathered on the Boston Common — a short distance from the original Tea Party — some dressed in Revolutionary garb and carrying signs that said "Barney Frank, Bernie Madoff: And the Difference Is?" and "D.C.: District of Communism."
Texas Gov. Rick Perry fired up a tea party at Austin City Hall with his stance against the federal government, as some in his U.S. flag-waving audience shouted, "Secede!"
In Atlanta, thousands of people gathered outside the Capitol, where Fox News Channel conservative pundit Sean Hannity was set to broadcast his show Wednesday night. One protester's sign read: "Hey Obama you can keep the change."
Julie Reeves, of Covington, brought her Chihuahua Arnie, who wore a tiny anti-IRS T-shirt. "I want the government to get its hand the hell out of my wallet," Reeves said.
The tea parties were promoted by FreedomWorks, a conservative nonprofit advocacy group based in Washington and led by former Republican House Majority Leader Dick Armey of Texas, who is now a lobbyist.
Organizers said the movement developed organically through online social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter and through exposure on Fox News.

Official Statement on Ron Paul and Tax Day Tea Parties
April 15, 2009:
ARLINGTON, VA - As activists across the country hold national tea parties, Campaign for Liberty president John Tate issued the following statement:
"The concept of the modern day Tea Party began on December 16, 2007 when supporters of Ron Paul's presidential campaign came together and raised over $6 million online in one day. The tremendous success of that event led activists in the freedom movement and members of the Campaign for Liberty to begin planning today's Tax Day Tea Parties.
"Success always brings company, and it is very positive that so many conservatives, libertarians, Republicans, constitutionalists and even progressives have come together and joined our efforts. All Americans who are sincere about cutting out of control government spending are welcome to stand with Dr. Paul and the Campaign for Liberty as we fight to take our country back."
Congressman Ron Paul is the honorary chairman of Campaign for Liberty. For more information, visit www.campaignforliberty.com.

We certainly didn't have as many Campaign For Liberty members as the Tea Party in Lansing had. However, we distributed 1500 economic freedom fliers and the equivalent of that in HR 1207 (it also included other bills) fliers. Unfortunately having that many fliers still wasn't enough and we ran out before we were able to distribute them to everyone.
The reception we recieved was extraordinarily positive; people cheered us, asked for our fliers, and thanked us for the work we were doing.

This is some raw footage I threw together real quick . I have over an hour of footage. Bad news is most of it was shot near the podium and the music and speeches were so Loud it was inaudible. I will have to find a way to remove the audio from the MP4s. I used here the most "quiet" footage that was shot.
The David Gay interview was actually the best taken. See it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WD33DYTgeUY

I am sure this has already been mentioned but Texas just declared sovereignty with the 10th amendment recently. I guess this is a peaceful revolution thus far. However, I hope people do not fall for a violent revolution. This would be playing into the hands of the strategy makers. This would also give a good reason to start Martial Law. This is what some of them want.
So, hopefully these states that are going in their own direction continue to do so in a peaceful manner until some kind of solution has been made. We are witnessing the many changes in the United States. Much of this has to do with too many regulations and overwhelming rules placed on individual states. It is getting to the point that there is so much red tape that it is hard for some states to function. So what is the sovereign count now 23 or 24 states?

Mind you the first guy should have explained the definition of ECONOMIC Fascism, which would have been a more intelligent debate, but she makes a statement that it IS offensive, rather than phrase it as a question, such as "Can you explain what you mean, as some people would find that to be offensive".
Then the poor guy with the baby? You could tell from the beginning she'd already decided she didn't like him or anything he might have to say. He was quoting Lincoln and she starts debating him like it's Crossfire or The Factor or something??? Isn't she just suppose to ask questions and get answers and then ask a follow up, not interject HER thoughts, feelings or opinions, and CERTAINLY not openly chastise this man! No wonder the crowd was turning on her. People know this isn't right! She was basically a anti-protester with a camera and live feed to thousands. And her unprofessional comments at the end and the look on her face are rather like a disgruntled teenager. VERY POOR JOURNALISTIC SKILLS, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!
If she hadn't been arguing with the protesters or treating them with open hostility, they might have responded differently, avoiding the whole problem. And even if they did "start" something with her before we see this clip, a professional would have handled it better.

The tea party phenomenon is interesting, although you gotta realize that it is being promoted by desperate neo-cons that have lost power recently. But it is attracting a very diverse crowd. Mostly disgruntled republicans, but also your garden-variety racists, libertarians who hate taxes in general no matter what they are spent on, and the conspiracy folks who see evil in every power structure.
The stuff about Texas is just posturing from a governor who is basically a figurehead (Texas governors have no real power) and some fringe elements in the legislature. George Ure of UrbanSurvival.com had some interesting comments about that today.
From George Ure:
In case you hadn't noticed, the Johnny-coming-lately 'patriotic fervor' which has supposedly driven Texas government to threaten to send troops to the Mexican Border, and now this latest independence talk, seems to have arrived concurrently with president Obama's election to the White House. But where were Rick Perry and his cohorts during the Bush reign? I didn't hear about Rick Perry mobilizing state resources to build a border fence then....
When I see folks out whipping up the 'tea party' sentiment, I ask myself "Is this part of a sincere, ongoing effort that was spawned before the Bushco republicorps lost first sitting at the teat of lobbyists? Or, has it arisen more recently? Pardon my pointing this out, but seems to me that it's more bluster and braggadocio...

I like what Dr. Rand Paul had to say at the beginning of his speech at Bowling Green.
"About 200 years ago Samuel Adams and a bunch of rabble rousers threw some tea in Boston Harbor. They were quite mad about a few things and Sam Adams famously said:
"It doesn't take a majority to prevail, but it takes an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in the minds of men."
If you watch Keith Olbermann he says, 'Oh just a bunch of stooges for Fox News.' Or they say, 'Oh just a bunch of shills for the Republican Party.'
I'm not out here representing Fox News, I'm not out here representing the Republican Party.
I'm out here because I'm unhappy because 'our government' is spending us into oblivion.
We need to acknowledge that there's enough blame and it's bi-partisan blame. (continues on about bailouts and deficits)
There's enough blame to go all around.
We need new people in Washington We need people who have believability.
We should acknowledge that we are paying more in taxes now than food clothing and housing combined. The number one item in your family budget is not your food and your housing or your rent, it's your taxes; that's a mistake.
There will be dire consequences.
We are in danger of becoming a Banana Republic."
His inspiring speech...continues.

You may have a point here. We seem to find it easier to be up in arms and hate people...than to calmly study the Constitution...and the writings and events surrounding the formation of this great experiment...the United States of America. And then to rationally apply the Constitution to the challenges we face. I don't even do this...even though I'm trying to focus on the Constitution. I want this movement to have deep roots...and not just be an angry flash in the pan.
I wanted Pat Buchanan for President in '92...and he was a Republican campaigning against an incumbent Republican President...George H.W. Bush. That was a Republican no no...but I liked what Buchanan had to say...and I didn't like what Bush said and did. But there was little real focus on the Constitution. When Bill Clinton was elected...the Republicans were livid...especially the Conservatives...like Rush Limbaugh. They mercilessly attacked Clinton for 8 years. Much of it was deserved...but a lot of it was in very poor taste. But there was little real focus on the Constitution. When George W. Bush was elected...there were high hopes for a Compassionate Conservatism. These hopes were quickly extinguished...especially after 9/11. But there was little real focus on the Constitution.
Leading up to the '08 election...Ron Paul emerged as a genuine Constitutionalist...and the mainstream media laughed and shut him out...hard. Now that the globalists and banksters are openly taking over...the laughing has stopped...and the alternative media is overriding the mainstream media. People are jumping on the Constitutional bandwagon...and better late than never. Alex Jones rants and raves...and most of it makes sense. But even now...is there a real focus on the Constitution?
Americans don't focus on the U.S. Constitution...in the same way that Christians don't focus on the Teachings of Jesus. Is there a supernatural reason for this? We wrestle not against flesh and blood...but against principalities and powers...and spiritual wickedness in high places. Think about it.

Once again, Ron Paul deserved to be in the headlines and once again the national media totally ignored him. Wednesday, the nationwide “Tea Party” protests of big taxes and big spending was the number two story in the nation on most television networks and number one on some. And how could they avoid it? Thousands showed up from coast to coast to express their dismay. What is Obama doing? How can we keep printing paper money? Doesn’t he know that a wave of inflation will hit the shore?
The fact is that the first, notable, Tea Party since Boston was launched at a Ron Paul campaign rally in Austin, Texas in December of 2007. The second was the famous “money bomb” fundraiser for Ron Paul on the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party in the middle of the 2008 presidential run. And most of the crowd and organizers of yesterday’s event were Ron Paul supporters. But congressman Ron Paul, the Nostradamus from Texas, who predicted the crisis we now face, was not mentioned once by the national media.
Credit (or blame) for the event was given to former Texas congressman, Dick Armey, a nice guy but not THE guy or to Newt Gingrich, or to Washington conservative think tanks that mine for Ron Paul money but never give him any respect or credit, or FOX television who actually blocked him from an early debate in 2008, or from sinister “corporate interests.” Huh? Gee… I wonder what corporation could possibly be interested in lower taxes and less government spending? General Motors? AIG?

Could you be more specific as to why you consider Pat Buchanan to be an ugly person? Are you a supporter of the records of George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton? Which of these three men was most supportive of the U.S. Constitution? Which of these three men was most supportive of U.S. sovereignty? Are you a supporter of the United Nations? Are you a supporter of the New World Order? Two of the three candidates were...
Pat Buchanan was an insider who turned against the New World Order in a rather abrasive manner. He was a back room strategist and bull dog...who lacked social grace...but knew a hell of a lot about what was really going on...and was troubled by it...and tried to do something about it...instead of bending over like the other two...

Interesting take on it.
And for orthodoxymoron: Pat Buchanan has already been exposed as anti-immigrant and racist. Do you want to support someone like that? Feel free to but that's part of the old paradigm and it's no different from supporting any other politician (Obama included).
They're all crooks and liars but to me, the right-wingers are even worse and always will be. Anyone who uses immigration to stir up people is missing the point altogether: What does "Give me your tired, your poor" mean? This is already a nation of immigrants or people descended from immigrants.

Somewhat unrelatedly...what is the difference between Communism, National Socialism(NAZI)...and Socialism as commonly referred to today?
Well, with Communism you get victimisation of minority groups, concentration camps, no individual freedoms, massive state control of every aspect of life and a cabal of elite holding all the power and wealth. You go left to get there, hence the term 'left wing.'
And with National Socialism you get victimisation of minority groups, concentration camps, no individual freedoms, massive state control of every aspect of life and a cabal of elite holding all the power and wealth. You go right to get there, hence the term 'right wing.'
Socialism is the mindset (for want of a better word) that leads to Communism and National Socialism- the process of centralisation of power on the grounds that individual freedoms are outweighed by the needs of the country, continent or world. Sometimes called National Security, economic reform or by other terms.
The problem is, most people are so focused on how great one wing is and had bad the other wing is they tend to miss the bloody great owl in the middle which happily flies on to the same destination it's always had.

Governor Says Texans May Want to Secede From Union But Probably Won't
Texas Gov. Rick Perry fired up an anti-tax "tea party" with his stance against the federal government and for states' rights.
Wednesday, April 15, 2009
Texas Gov. Rick Perry fired up an anti-tax "tea party" Wednesday with his stance against the federal government and for states' rights as some in his U.S. flag-waving audience shouted, "Secede!"
An animated Perry told the crowd at Austin City Hall -- one of three tea parties he was attending across the state -- that officials in Washington have abandoned the country's founding principles of limited government. He said the federal government is strangling Americans with taxation, spending and debt.
Perry repeated his running theme that Texas' economy is in relatively good shape compared with other states and with the "federal budget mess." Many in the crowd held signs deriding President Barack Obama and the $786 billion federal economic stimulus package.
Later, answering news reporters' questions, Perry suggested Texans might at some point get so fed up they would want to secede from the union, though he said he sees no reason why Texas should do that.

I think that about sums it up. Everyone please feel free to fill in anything I missed or correct any mistakes. :thumb_yello:
Thank-you for the concise and accurate definitions. They all start out with high hopes and big promises for the working class...but they all deliver misery, enslavement...and violent death.

The problem is, most people are so focused on how great one wing is and had bad the other wing is they tend to miss the bloody great owl in the middle which happily flies on to the same destination it's always had.
I think that about sums it up. Everyone please feel free to fill in anything I missed or correct any mistakes. :thumb_yello:
the truth of the matter is that the same could be said for any system. all political 'isms' are the same. idealistic at first, eagerly accepted as a good change, corrupted by human greed and the lust for power, and all seem to lead to: "victimisation of minority groups, concentration camps, no individual freedoms, massive state control of every aspect of life and a cabal of elite holding all the power and wealth"
for instance, under the bush era and continuing now, from the vistimization of lots of groups, including returning veterans, the so called fema camps, freedoms restricted in the name of safety, control over your life, and the cabal of wealthy leaders (read bankers) and there you have the current 'ism'.

Pat is anti illegal immigration...and anti-discrimination(including reverse discrimination). He is also opposed to our massively subsidizing the State of Israel.
Some have interpreted these positions as being racist.

Two out of three things aren't bad. Still, demonizing illegal immigrants is nothing short of a low-blow and again, it ignores the rich history of this country and what immigrants have brought to it. Usually, movements against illegal (and even legal) immigration are lead by angry whites (not always..but 9 out of 10 times). I've never seen a group of Black people or Latino people or even Asian people opposed to illegal immigrants. It's alway the garden-variety white folks.

The Tea Parties: What's Really Going On
A great video commentary by Karl Denninger. :thumb_yello:
April 18, 2009
The left calls them "right-wing hackery." Uh, no.
The Tea Parties are America's way of saying "stop the looting and start prosecuting."
Are you listening Washington?
"This isn't a left or a right thing folks, this is an American thing."
Video (9:32): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hatRrIxpw2o&feature=channel_page
One of his comments is exactly what I was thinking about today. People told their congressman 'no more bailouts' and yet many ignored their constituents and voted 'yes' anyway. That is not government by the people. That is tyranny.

This is Steve Quayle's take on things....
http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss64/Micjer_2009/_tea-party-005.jpg
http://www.stevequayle.com/index1.html
ORANGE ALERT: To all those who have taken an oath to defend the U.S. against all enemies foreign and domestic - BE ADVISED of the following:
Over the next 6 months, law enforcement and the military will be given unlawful and illegal orders to round up and purge all dissidents against the New World Order crowd. The purge is the systematic liquidation of all those identified as a threat against the Globalist Plan. Furthermore, all TEA Party participants have been filmed and their license plate information taken by all FBI Special Agents in charge at all the rallies. Consider the ramifications... Since coming to office, the current regime has devoted massive amounts of money and Federal Spy Agency assets to identifying gun owners and those in the military who still love this Country and take their oath seriously. All former combat Veterans, Special Forces, Green Berets, Delta, and Spec operations personnel must absolutely change your physical location and TELL NO ONE! With DHS having validated the Seek and Destroy Lists, their plans are now being set in motion! Does it not make you furious that men and women in the Armed Forces who have fought all these years for the principles that the Constitutional Republic ONCE Stood for, are now deemed terrorists by the DHS along with Constitutionalists, Christians, gun owners and those who speak out against the foreign destruction of America's economy. Domestic security is now defined as "quell all first amendment rights. Period!" Whether false flag or intentional acts of globalist terror incidents, the events will be orchestrated to blame the "DHS hit list people". Whether you know it or not, by painting conservatives and people who are against the New World Order with such a "terroristic civil rights violating hit piece" you have not only been vilified but have been targeted for extermination. Anyone who would follow orders to take your guns away will not hesitate to BLOW YOU AWAY. History has proven this time and time again! The Psalmist wrote "If the foundations be destroyed what shall the righteous do?" Our only Hope is to repent and cry out to the Living God and seek his personal direction and guidance. While we can not stop the hand of Divine Judgment, we can know our God and do exploits! Write your Senators and Congressmen and women — scream at the top of your lungs, write editorials; do all that you can do legally. But remember, very soon when they initiate their attacks, you will have no one to blame except yourselves while there is still a whisper of time to make a difference for Righteousness Sake.
DO NOT ALLOW THESE PLANS FOR SLAUGHTER TO GO UNOPPOSED!

FBI spied on TEA Party Americans
http://homelandsecurityus.com/?p=2659
19 April 2009: Even as average Americans were planning to get out in towns and cities to demonstrate against Big Government and Big Taxes, Federal Bureau of Intelligence Investigation (FBI) surveillance was being unleashed upon them. In fact, unsuspecting Tax Day TEA Party participants were being closely watched during the demonstration planning stages in a covert operation that began on or about March 23, 2009.
If you one of the estimated 750,000 Americans who attended one of about 600 TEA parties last week, you might have seen media cameras covering the event. Media cameras, however, were not the only cameras taking video at these events, something that has at least one current FBI agent concerned over the future of America. According to this agent - the same agent who provided the Northeast Intelligence Network (NEIN) exclusively the unreleased photographs of the 11 missing Egyptian students who were the subject of a FBI BOLO in August 2006–placed his concerns for true patriots of the U.S. over his own career when he confided that covert surveillance was “planned and performed” at each of the TEA parties that took place last Tuesday.
“Listen to what I am saying,” stated the source during an interview with Doug Hagmann, founder (NEIN). “The Department of Homeland Security Intelligence Assessment that is receiving so much attention is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, and the true patriotic citizens of this country are on the Titanic. This is what bothers me. But is goes far beyond that assessment. There have been very significant changes made over the last few years that redirect the focus and assets of the intelligence community internally. These changes have greatly accelerated under this administration, and the threats have been redefined to include those who used to be patriots. It’s not only chilling but absolutely insulting to God-fearing Americans.”
According to this unimpeachable source, a single-page confidential directive issued by the FBI headquarters in Washington, DC (FBIHQ) was sent to each of the 56 field offices located across the United States on or about March 23, 2009, instructing the Special Agents in Charge (SACs) of those offices to verify the date, time and location of each TEA Party within their region and supply that information to FBI headquarters in Washington. The source stated this correspondence termed the TEA parties “political demonstrations,” and added that the dissemination of the directive was very tightly controlled. “Not all agents were privy to this correspondence,” stated the source, who compared the dissemination to an older “Do Not File” classification.
In addition to obtaining or confirming the location and time of each “demonstration,” each field office was instructed to obtain or confirm the identity of the individual(s) involved in the actual planning and coordination of the event in each specific region, and include the local or regional Internet web site address, if any. The information collected by region was then reportedly sent to FBI Headquarters.
The source alleges that a second directive was issued on or about April 6, 2009 that reportedly instructed each SAC to coordinate and conduct, either at the field office level and/or with the appropriate resident agency, covert video surveillance and data collection of the participants of the TEA parties. Surveillance was to be performed from “discreet fixed or mobile positions” and was to be performed “independently and outside of the purview of local law enforcement.”
Although the level of detail collected from each operation is unclear, the information was reportedly submitted to Washington, where, “at the level of the National Security Branch (NSB), this information was to “include the office of the Directorate of Intelligence (DI), and integrated with a restricted access database, one that reportedly is accessible to only two agencies” [of the 14 agencies that comprise the U.S. intelligence community, according to the source.
“The implications to the citizens of the U.S. are ominous. It seems that there is a hostile political agenda coming from Washington that characterizes the supporters of our constitutional freedoms as threats to our domestic security, which is totally absurd. The redirection, the refocusing of domestic threats from al Qaeda cells to ‘flag waving right-wingers’ is something that has gone from a murmur a few years ago to a roar today.”
Training government-issued cameras on ordinary citizens, many of whom brought their children to an estimated 600 Tax Day TEA Parties is a page torn out of George Orwell’s 1984 and makes the term “God Bless America” more meaningful than ever.

Protests Flare Outside IMF Meetings
APRIL 25, 2009, 2:45 P.M. ET
Associated Press
WASHINGTON -- More than 100 protesters upset with the way world leaders have handled the economic crisis clashed with police Saturday outside the International Monetary Fund and World Bank meetings.
Authorities used batons and pepper spray when activists tried to march onto a prohibited street, and several people were pushed to the ground by police. The protesters swarmed officers unexpectedly, and police had to respond, said D.C. police Capt. Jeffrey Harold.
A 22-year-old man accused of using pepper spray on an officer during the scuffle was arrested, D.C. police said. Before the demonstrations began, police arrested six people and accused them of vandalizing two banks, an incident that authorities think was linked to the protests.
Protesters claimed police responded without warning.

alyscat - Ah! Good point! It reminds me of this...
"Between 1914 and 1963, Federal Reserve Notes bore the promise to pay in dollars of lawful money. After 1963, that promise disappeared! What happened in 1963? President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. And the Federal Reserve began to issue new paper currency.
AND
"While the attention of the nation was focused on the tragedy of the death of President Kennedy, the Federal Reserve switched the currency. Federal Reserve Notes promising to pay the bearer on demand in dollars of "lawful money" (gold and silver coin) were taken out of circulation and replaced with notes without the promise. A dollar is a unit of measurement for gold and silver coin. A unit of measurement cannot replace the substance that it measures. A dollar cannot be money any more than a quart can be milk. Without gold and silver coins as real money, the "dollars" on paper currency measure units of credit which are less tangible than air. The money system is a complete, total fraud. In fact, it is the ultimate slave system. All that it took to enslave America (and the world) was to convince people that paper and credit are money!

The world is insane. The best thing is to end the Fed and end funding of the military industrial complex. That will stop the need for high taxation immediately. Oh, and this may be off topic but legalize pot. It's the best thing for new instant money injected into the economy. A whole new legal industry overnight. New jobs. You can moderately tax the sale of it. You can end the ridiculous amount of money going into fighting it. And empty the jails which would save more money. And people wouldnt be scared of getting put in jail. It would just make a lot of people very happy. They smoke up now anyway. And you could devote more resources to fighting the really evil drugs like crack, coke, heroine, meth, etc...
