I wasn't quite sure where to post this, so please move if this isn't the right spot for it.
As if we need anything more to show us how careless TPTB are, here's an article in Vanity Fair, of all places, giving us another black look at them.
They are logging some of the oldest, most sacred trees on the planet-- the redwoods in Sonoma County, CA. As the trees are on BG property, I suppose those guys assume they are their personal playthings. Just read the article to see in how much contempt they hold everything "beneath" them. Very sad.

There are people demonstrating against the Grove up there, for whatever it's worth. Here's a post from a blog I respect, speaking about these demonstrations:

I wish there was a way to really make TPTB see-- and care-- what they are doing, as in this "curse".
I know in my heart that their day will come sometime soon.
