31,478 American scientists petition, including 9,029 with PhDs - GORE is WRONG!
Quote

The purpose of the Petition Project is to demonstrate that the claim of “settled science” and an overwhelming “consensus” in favor of the hypothesis of human-caused global warming and consequent climatological damage is wrong. No such consensus or settled science exists. As indicated by the petition text and signatory list, a very large number of American scientists reject this hypothesis.

Publicists at the United Nations, Mr. Al Gore, and their supporters frequently claim that only a few “skeptics” remain – skeptics who are still unconvinced about the existence of a catastrophic human-caused global warming emergency.

It is evident that 31,478 Americans with university degrees in science – including 9,029 PhDs, are not "a few." Moreover, from the clear and strong petition statement that they have signed, it is evident that these 31,478 American scientists are not “skeptics.”

These scientists are instead convinced that the human-caused global warming hypothesis is without scientific validity and that government action on the basis of this hypothesis would unnecessarily and counterproductively damage both human prosperity and the natural environment of the Earth.

Yes, this was very thoroughly discussed in a thread 12/8/08, called "Al Gore Sued" -

This is a political issue, not particularly a scientific one, IMHO, and you see it pursued by staunch conservatives or who have a hard-xx for Mr. Gore. Or who are afraid the guvmt will try to do something that might get in the way of the petroleum industry or any industry taking responsibility for putting junk into the air and making us sicker - OR (in my more paranoid moments) the PTB that want to follow an agenda that reduces the population, and by discounting this, can pass the wool over our eyes about chemtrails and other things.

The way I look at it, the weather, she is a changin' (for whatever reason), and to ignore that allows you to distract yourself from what is actually going on, and in the long run keeps you from preparing for whatever changes might be coming down the line. (generic you, of course, not any one individual) The other planets in the solar system are warming up (getting brighter and hotter) - we're not exempt, even if we have an occasional COLD winter. I know that the polar glaciers are melting (nice story on that on the web about a guy who has had so much ice melt since his family moved to the edge of the glacier that he's been able to open a 9 hole golf course), the polar ice is decreasing, the Wilkins ice shelf in the antarctic has broken off, etc.

Is it carbon dioxide in the air? Is it passing through the galactic center and changes in magnetics (what Clif High calls "the big squeeze")? Is it a normal 18k cycle, where we end up with a lot of tectonic activity that is followed by a small ice age?

I dunno. But to waste energy vilifying Gore (who is not even in politics any longer) is sorta stupid, IMHO. If the man has been taught by a college instructor that he believed that it was an increase in carbon dioxide, and then used his celebrity to try to prevent a disaster he wrongly believed was going to happen - well, blame the college instructor for that. Meantime, start storing foods and getting your gardens ready.

Cool!

This scam must be exposed, as it is used as an excuse to implement laws. De big wet dream of taxing life and living.

It's possible Al Gore knows what he is doing. He is very well connected to the PTB and I suspect his agenda is part of the same group, trying to confuse the real issue and at the same time, give an excuse for another tax.

So, Canadian Northern Sanctuary, you're worried about US taxes? How generous of your concern <G>. Or are YOU a part of the PTB, trying to distract everyone else with this old, dead argument? See, it plays both ways. (Or am I?? <G>)

I don't know Al Gore personally, but I feel sure he believes in Global Warming. I did see photos of his work in the aftermath of Katrina (hot, sweaty and mucky vs hollywood bandbox squeaky clean), which got very little, other than local, media attention (hired a plane and went down and took supplies for the victims).

Is he a part of TPTB just because he has money and celebrity and was a politician? Is that all it takes to be a part of TPTB? Or are we all jealous of those who have money and celebrity, because we don't and want to have more? Would having more automatically make us a part of TPTB? Sometimes I think, when I read our posts, that this is a part of what is going on.

I submit that we need to turn back to the original goal of Avalon, and focus on preparing ourselves and developing communities for the times that are here, and more to come, rather than wasting our time going over and over things that really have no relationship to the stated goals.

Maybe THIS is why the membership has dropped.

Al Gore has set up a carbon cap and trade system and climate change is being introduced to help sell it . Now we see Bill Clinton stepping into the picture trying to help sell this agenda . Both these men when in office opposed curbing emissions and so what they say means **** to me . What is occuring is the start of part of the new financial system they are setting up to rescue us from the current economic conditions . Al gore was the first person I ever saw who got a Nobel prize for Bullsh*t. If he is so right about this subject how is it he refuses to debate anyone on this subject any who oppose his view at his seminars is escorted out of the building by the Secret Service . They are scared as hell that the majority will find out about this B.S. story and so no opposition is allowed

Hi alys,

I just post it for news that some people may be interested in. The carbon tax is pushed in more than the US. He does have a house with a huge utility bill, and not using renewable energy. I was recalling the organisations he attends as well as his family tree connections when I made that statement. If you think otherwise, then that's ok; I could be wrong.

My real interest is what you mentioned. Here's my posts for the Radiant Zone community I'm building and the upcoming local meetings in the ground crew section:

Upcoming mtg and community land tour:

There's other info on the Canada threads.

best regards,
NS

Al Gore is a high ranked Illuminati, higher than G. Bush Jr for example.
The 2000 election was just a way to make him known by the masses (=authority).
It was all carefully planned and indeed, avyaktam, an excuse to implement laws, just like 9/11.

Al gore was the first person I ever saw who got a Nobel prize for Bullsh*t.

I'm afraid the bullsh*t list is much longer. Kissinger, just to name one, won the Nobel Peace Prize.

WASHINGTON – A United Nations climate change conference in Poland is about to get a surprise from 650 leading scientists who scoff at doomsday reports of man-made global warming – labeling them variously a lie, a hoax and part of a new religion.
Later today, their voices will be heard in a U.S. Senate minority report quoting the scientists, many of whom are current and former members of the U.N.'s own Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
About 250 of the scientists quoted in the report have joined the dissenting scientists in the last year alone.
In fact, the total number of scientists represented in the report is 12 times the number of U.N. scientists who authored the official IPCC 2007 report.
Here are some choice excerpts from the report:
"I am a skeptic ... . Global warming has become a new religion." -- Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever.
"Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly ... . As a scientist I remain skeptical." -- Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Joanne Simpson, the first woman in the world to receive a Ph.D. in meteorology and formerly of NASA who has authored more than 190 studies and has been called "among the most pre-eminent scientists of the last 100 years."
Warming fears are the "worst scientific scandal in the history ... . When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists." -- U.N. IPCC Japanese Scientist Dr. Kiminori Itoh, an award-winning Ph.D. environmental physical chemist.
"The IPCC has actually become a closed circuit; it doesn't listen to others. It doesn't have open minds ... . I am really amazed that the Nobel Peace Prize has been given on scientifically incorrect conclusions by people who are not geologists." -- Indian geologist Dr. Arun D. Ahluwalia at Punjab University and a board member of the U.N.-supported International Year of the Planet.
"The models and forecasts of the U.N. IPCC "are incorrect because they only are based on mathematical models and presented results at scenarios that do not include, for example, solar activity." -- Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera, a researcher at the Institute of Geophysics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
"It is a blatant lie put forth in the media that makes it seem there is only a fringe of scientists who don't buy into anthropogenic global warming." -- U.S. Government Atmospheric Scientist Stanley B. Goldenberg of the Hurricane Research Division of NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
"Even doubling or tripling the amount of carbon dioxide will virtually have little impact, as water vapor and water condensed on particles as clouds dominate the worldwide scene and always will." -- Geoffrey G. Duffy, a professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering of the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
"After reading [U.N. IPCC chairman] Pachauri's asinine comment [comparing skeptics to] Flat Earthers, it's hard to remain quiet." -- Climate statistician Dr. William M. Briggs, who specializes in the statistics of forecast evaluation, serves on the American Meteorological Society's Probability and Statistics Committee and is an associate editor of Monthly Weather Review.
"For how many years must the planet cool before we begin to understand that the planet is not warming? For how many years must cooling go on?" -- Geologist Dr. David Gee, the chairman of the science committee of the 2008 International Geological Congress who has authored 130 plus peer-reviewed papers, and is currently at Uppsala University in Sweden.
"Gore prompted me to start delving into the science again and I quickly found myself solidly in the skeptic camp ... . Climate models can at best be useful for explaining climate changes after the fact." -- Meteorologist Hajo Smit of Holland, who reversed his belief in man-made warming to become a skeptic, is a former member of the Dutch U.N. IPCC committee.
"Many [scientists] are now searching for a way to back out quietly (from promoting warming fears), without having their professional careers ruined." -- Atmospheric physicist James A. Peden, formerly of the Space Research and Coordination Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.
"Creating an ideology pegged to carbon dioxide is a dangerous nonsense ... . The present alarm on climate change is an instrument of social control, a pretext for major businesses and political battle. It became an ideology, which is concerning." -- Environmental Scientist Professor Delgado Domingos of Portugal, the founder of the Numerical Weather Forecast group, has more than 150 published articles.
"CO2 emissions make absolutely no difference one way or another ... . Every scientist knows this, but it doesn't pay to say so ... . Global warming, as a political vehicle, keeps Europeans in the driver's seat and developing nations walking barefoot." -- Dr. Takeda Kunihiko, vice-chancellor of the Institute of Science and Technology Research at Chubu University in Japan.
"The [global warming] scaremongering has its justification in the fact that it is something that generates funds." -- Award-winning Paleontologist Dr. Eduardo Tonni, of the Committee for Scientific Research in Buenos Aires and head of the Paleontology Department at the University of La Plata.
The report also includes new peer-reviewed scientific studies and analyses refuting man-made warming fears and a climate developments that contradict the theory.
It is 4 degrees Celsius (39 Fahrenheit) today in Poznan, Poland, where the U.N. conference is being held.
