Brinty

I've been wracking my brains trying to remember where I read the following about the power the mind has over our bodies. It was about 30 years or more ago and the book I was reading was about hypnosis. The author was pointing out that under hypnotic control, the body is capable of amazing things. The simplest example was a person told to go rigid as they lay on a row of chairs. One by one the chairs are removed until only two remain. One under the head and the other under the heels.
Someone is then asked to sit on the person's stomach. The amount of sag is minimal. Unless you can exercise mind control, this can not be done without hypnosis - try it.
The author went on to talk about STIGMATA which is the appearance of wounds in the body similar to the wounds suffered by Christ as he was crucified on the cross. These mostly occur in people who are extremely devout believers of the crucifixion and Christ's wounds. In effect, a kind of self hypnosis.
What is interesting is that the average person thinks of the nails being driven through the hands and the feet and this is where they experience the stigmata. In actual fact, the nails apparently went through the wrists and ankles.
Further, he points out that under hypnosis, if a person is told that they are going to have acid dropped on the back of their hand, they will develop a wound that they think an acid burn looks like. This may be any of a number of appearances.
This seems to indicate that the mind has powers beyond our comprehension at this time. Also, it is feasible that if your mind can cause wounds like this, it can also heal wounds very quickly if it was known how to control these powers.
How much of a jump does it require to go from being able to control your mind to affect your own body, to your mind affecting other people or material things?
We have a lot to learn about our minds and how to control them. The PTB don't want us to do this because we could then defeat their aims and aspirations. We are told that we only use a small percentage of the power of our brain. It's about time we started to learn how to utilize the unused portion - and pretty quickly.
