So last night I had the second sighting in my life. I had walked to a nearby field to meditate under the stars. AS i reached the field I stopped to look up for a second and take in the beautiful sight, and saw an amazing sight.
I bright red light was moving very silently across the sky. It was a solid red ball, flickering every so gently. No flashing lights of any kind. It was much lower than any planes fly. It went in a straight line, across the sky, and into the horizon.
Unfortunately I didn't have my phone on me to take a picture or get video. :( However I made a picture in photoshop of what it looked like.

Cool!
Sounds like you live in a cool place, too, if you have a field where you can look up at the stars! Sounds wonderful...

Why is it that whenever we see strange things we never have a camera on us, even if we always wander around with a camera. Happens to me all the time. Cool sighting, maybe next time you'll have it ready.

interesting Lorien....
I took a friend up to the observatory with me last night, and we also saw one..
Strangley.... it did not differ much from your illustration.
I also got it in the telescope and saw 4 seperate lights on it. :D
I did have my camera, But have learned over the years...
If its not close, and large enough to make out an actual structure..
theres really no point in trying to get a pic imho. lol

Thanks for sharing your experience, Lorien. What a thrill.
For those who want pictures: Because recorded images of any kind are so easily manipulated, pictures are of limited value unless you know and trust the source. If you really want to know, go outside and express your heartfelt desire for contact in the spirit of universal peace. It works. There are a variety of things you may see, orbs, structured craft, etc., but the most common seem to be flashes or streaks (a longer flash with motion - constant brightness and no trail like a shooting star). No special training required. No special abilities required. If you're in the DC area, consider hooking up with these folks (http://projectavalon.net/forum/showthread.php?p=144422#post144422). There's also more info at that link on how to achieve contact. There is no substitute for direct experience. It will rock your world in a way that no picture can.
