Celebrate July 4th with Campaign for Liberty

Posted by Matt Hawes on 07/03/09

From a message sent out by C4L President John Tate:

This July 4th, in addition to celebrating our nation's independence and its founding principles, we can celebrate the fact that, in the face of unprecedented threats, the liberty movement is stronger than ever and gaining more supporters every day.

Campaign for Liberty members all across the country will be taking part in several July 4th activities to spread our message, and we wanted to make you aware of their efforts.

C4L's Vice President of Programs, Matt Hawes, will be speaking at the Prince William County American Freedom Day Tea Party shortly after 1 pm. The Tea Party takes place in Woodbridge, Virginia, and lasts from 1-4 pm. Local members will have a booth set up to hand out literature and promote the organization. Click here for more information.

At Bull Run Park in Centreville, Va, C4L will be a Grand Patron sponsor of the 38th Annual Conservative Fourth of July Soirée, which will be hosted by the Leadership Institute in conjunction with other limited government organizations. The event runs from 12:00-4:30pm and is free and open to the public. Visit their website here for further details.

C4L members will also be passing out literature at the March for Liberty in Washington, D.C. The event begins at 9:30 am and lasts until 2:30 pm.

Pennsylvania C4L will be participating in the televised Welcome America Parade in Philadelphia, and will have an information table at the People's Plaza on Independence Mall. This is sure to be a memorable experience and a tremendous opportunity to make people aware of Campaign for Liberty. Click here for information on how to get involved.

Members will also be taking part in events in areas including Charlotte, North Carolina, Chicago, Illinois, and Garland County, Arkansas.

With big government politicians working overtime to take away our remaining freedoms, it is more important than ever for the liberty movement to stand united against them. July 4th offers us a chance to commemorate what made this nation great, and to rededicate ourselves to reclaiming our Republic and restoring our Constitution. If you're able to make it out, consider joining your fellow C4L members at the events listed above, and keep spreading the freedom message!

I know that there are many more events where C4L members will have a presence. If you're planning to attend an activity not on this list (or want to talk about your July 4th plans in general), post under this thread so any fellow local members that are interested can join your efforts.

And don't forget to take along one of our fliers! http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=21096

From a message sent out by C4L President John Tate:

On this day 233 years ago, our Founding Fathers stood up to the most powerful nation on earth and declared to the world that all men are created with rights that cannot justifiably be taken away by any government.

Putting their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor on the line, they persevered in a hard-fought Revolution to create an experiment in liberty unlike any other in history.

Though they would be outraged by how far the federal government has drifted from their vision, I am confident they would be proud of our growing movement to reclaim the Republic they sacrificed so much to leave us.

Today, we can commemorate their courage, celebrate their achievements, and rededicate ourselves to ensuring the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.

With our own Revolution headed by the "Champion of the Constitution," we are re-declaring to the world our commitment to the ideas that made this nation great. In his latest C4L video, Congressman Ron Paul passes along his best wishes for a happy Fourth of July. Click here (or check out the top box above) to view this message.

In just a little over a year since our founding, over 200,000 people from all manner of countries, backgrounds, and political beliefs have joined Campaign for Liberty in saying "enough" to government intrusion and overreach. The political establishment which had written us off for so long is unable to do so any longer. Our successful efforts so far to Audit the Fed are just the beginning.

Together, we are leading the charge to restore respect for the principles enshrined in the Declaration of Independence. And like our Founders, we will finish the fight.

Thank you for all you do in defense of freedom. Happy Fourth of July from all of us at Campaign for Liberty!
