View Full Version : Lost Avalon accounts, are we disappearing?

Nope, we're not. Just our accounts :lmfao:

Apparently a glitch in the machine cost a fellow Avalonian his account.
Spiralmind tried to log in to PA and got the no such user reply. Spiral mentioned this in the Avalon chatroom last night and by this morning the problem was being resolved by forum mods.

I noticed a couple of "guested" nicks that posted as recently as yesterday.
If your reading this post and cant log in here try coming by the chatroom (link in my signature) and I will help get you back in. :thumb_yello:

Thank you GaiaLove!

After being notified, I began consulting with Gareth and Anchor on the cause of and cure for this problem. By randomly searching threads, I found the accounts of no caste and happyhollergal were also dropped. I think there may be one more that I have not found, but we are still in the research phase of the issue. We don't know if it was caused by machine or person.

One suggested fix is that we can reinstate the account, but it will no longer be associated with the past posts. I will need email addresses to do this, and to verify that you want the same username.

Even before the notification by GaiaLove it was becoming apparent that there are problems with new registrations also. That may have started Sept 5 if you know of anyone that was unsuccessful in joining us the past couple of weeks. For problem resolution send an email to karen@projectavalon.net .

Let me know if you see any other active participants that suddenly went "guest". I hope we have a speedy wrap up on this, but remember we are an all volunteer team with busy lives, jobs and families.

The Avalon Search engine also appears to be very glitchy at this time and we are aware of that problem as well. Those who can work on beefing up etheric protective/defense shields for the forum are invited to do so.

Many Blessings to all,
Karen

Gone! Gone! Everything's Gone! I'm ruined! I've got nothing left! Where's the nearest tall-building?

My threads are gone...at least according to the search function. Easy come...easy go. Perhaps I should just write that book...with pen and yellow paper. Our world is so sophisticated...so why do the most simple things still get $crewed-up? Why is common-sense...uncommon? I often think we were given advanced technology by ET's so that we would destroy ourselves...so the ET's could have Earth all to themselves. Sorry for the whining tangent away from my whining comment.

Is this thread threat (TT) an alphabet agency attack (AAA)? 'Teacher...the CIA ate my homework.'

The administration team is aware, since last evening, that there is a problem with the forum search engine.

Here's another way to conduct a forum search:

go to
http://www.google.com/advanced_search

enter your search terms

near the bottom enter the url
http://www.projectavalon.net/forum

There are murmurings google is censoring information. You might try comparing results from multiple search engines.

I am going to re-index the database that may fix the search function.

I dont think any threads are really deleted :)

So...the search function will not retrieve any threads from more than a couple of weeks ago? Is this permanent? What happened? Maybe I don't want to know. Maybe I can't handle the truth.

For the time being the following solution works very well.

Enter whatever you are looking for into googles search and add the line site:http://www.projectavalon.net

For example entering mms site:http://www.projectavalon.net

will give you about 170 results (http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&as_q=mms&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&num=20&lr=&as_filetype=&ft=i&as_sitesearch=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.projectavalon.net&as_qdr=all&as_rights=&as_occt=any&cr=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&safe=images) from all dates where mms was mentioned on this site

Here's the truth. We don't know what happened. We don't know how to fix it. The admin guys, Anchor and Gareth, are extremely busy with their work and personal lives so the resolution of this and several other problems will just have to wait while we try to remain patient. Gareth will have to research it and try various fixes. If I had the access and knowledge to fix it, I could have done so in a fraction of the time it has taken me to deal with all the fallout that these glitches are causing. {shuffles off into the sunset mumbling, mumbling ...}
