View Full Version : Did your life change at all in 87? (Harmonic Convergence?)

This is a tough one. I had never heard of the "harmonic convergence" in 1987 until a few weeks ago. Somehow, that one slipped by me. I can't even remember what brought it to my attention and why I was so intrigued by that possibility. I still do not fully understand the principle behind this "convergence" and wether or not it is valid, and or an actual event that transpired. Is it "New Age"? Is it true enlightenment? What exactly is this H.C. ?
I posed the question in the title: Did anyone here have life changing events in 2008?
A short story from me. 2008 until recently was a year I preferred to forget. It was actually a terrible year for me at the time and indeed untill possibly 3 years ago, nearly to the day when the chickens finally came home to roost and I understood that what happened then was integral to who I am now. Without that year, i would have been stuck in the same rut no doubt.
So what is the story? My ex was kicked out of the fellowship we belonged to, then she followed that up by walking out on mea month before christmas. Oh boy, was I ever so jolly. 14 days after she walked out, I had an incredibly close call with death in the form of hitting a parked car on my bike in excess of 200 KPH. 3 months later (so this is now 1989) I was attacked by a shark then on the same day miraculously escaped drowning. Go back to 2008, that is when I left christian beliefs (call it dogma rather) behind and walked away from my "born again" status. Much to the chagrin of many. I fought with my conscience for a long time with that one and this is where David Icke's work has a special place in my heart. His work eased the transition from enslavement to the long walk to freedom which is an ongoing thing. Those of you who have read the stuff I've written have in all probability seen the changes in me more than I have myself. I hope I have changed, and it is my hope that this change becomes more pronounced.
Why 1987? Did something really happen in the spiritual realm we were unaware of? How could I go from being a really heavy bible-thumper to what I am today, that is someone who doesn't care what your personal beliefs are other than that you realise we are all spirit first, flesh second, and that we are indeed eternal beings of light. This is without exception, even those who might be stumbling blocks at this time are the same, there can be no seperation, no duality.
This isn't really going anywhere specific but I was just curious and felt the need to share that curiosity here.

Love and Light to All

PS This thought just came to me as I was about to post so i better listen to Red Cloud and write it here. If there is anyone who is going through the process of leaving dogma behind :sweatdrop: and would like to talk to someone who has been through it the hard way then please don't hesitate to PM me. I would be more than happy to share the difficulties and subsequent rewards of leaving religion behind and just how I did it.

Yes, it went down the crapper :naughty: like a descent into hell. (Hey, zeddo, I saw your Neil Young posts on the music thread. Very nice. Definitely have NY DNA in my formative years genes. Actually, went I first added a signature line here on Avalon, it was from: Don't Let It Bring You Down.)

I think 1987 is when everyone got excited about the internet, new technology and rushed headlong that way. When I turned around after family responsibilities in, say, 2008, it was like hey, a lot has happened since Reagan waved his magic Star Wars wand.

1987 was a very painful year, that's when I discovered how much love hurts with the wrong kind of person. Learned some invaluable and unforgettable lessons that year...

that's all i remember from '87...

So nice to get the replies here, thanks everyone. At a quick glance it appears that it was indeed a watershed year!!! I can safely say that it was pivotal in my "awakening".

Actually i need to correct this about me, it was between 1984 - 1986. I do not have a great deal of memory for 1987 or 1988. I have been told this morning by family that at that time i was very strange, :mfr_lol:, maybe more then now.

I used to dissapear for days, camping, although I do not remember this much. I do get flash backs every now and then, usually trigered by a smell or a piece of music of things i just do not remember being a part of my life. I have memories of people who used to join in family events, I have asked but no one even remembers these people or even the event I refere too.

Strange times...

1987 was a pretty good year and the last one of my youth, my first child was conceived in October of that year however it was 1988 that was a major crossroad in my life. Both parents died within months of each other and my first child was born in between those events.

So '87 is rather a fun and free time in my memory :)

I turned 10. I think we went to Springfield, IL that year too. And during that summer I had my hair cut very short, almost buzz-cut. 12 years later, my hair is almost that short, though not by my choice. My wife needed to cut my hair for a practical test for a salon job.

This is the year my daughter was born 9/29/87. I have always believed that she brought a new energy wave of some kind to my life (like opening a door to truth) because it was right after she was born that the Universe began opening up to me and life as I knew it had changed. Here's a little info on it on this link. I don't know this person but there seems to be a good explanation of what actually transpired. I didn't know about it until after the fact. I did not know, at the time, that we were going through it.
