Ron Paul is, by far, my favorite US politician.

He is a very smart, honest and sincere man.

Hi peaceandlove,

If I heard it correctly, Geithner is basically saying, "tough *******" to the rest of the world who is holding US$ reserves. He said that it was the individual countrys' decision to take the dollar on board as a world reserve currency.

I think when the going gets tough we're going to see an attitude coming from the US not very helpful to the rest of the planet. This surely will create a friction never seen before in world politics.

I'm going to hide under my bed..... just in case!

Best regards,

Steve

More importantly,
Ron Paul's last question, should have been his first. That way Geitner's response of "I will Gladly speak with you privately, or in a different context", could have been exploited. What is key in that response, is in no way, shape or form did Geitner immediately refute the claims being being made by the Chinese and others regarding replacing the current reserve currency. Regardless, of the time constraint.

Geitner also did not elaborate on the FDR doubling the money supply and further lowering the interest rates.
