"THERE ARE ONLY TWO KINDS OF PEOPLE ON EARTH; DOG PEOPLE & CAT PEOPLE!" a wise (wo)man from a far away land once, a long, long time ago, stated.
"But what about people who have cats & dogs?" a confused farmer's wife asked.

Some people say that cat are between the world of the dead and the world of the living, some people say that dags are the guardians of the underworld. If you saw a small dog in the astral plan would you mistake it for a large cat?

Dog and cat's friendship continues after death
http://img.metro.co.uk/i/pix/2008/01/oscardogMEN_450x250.jpg
Oscar the dog and his best friend, Arthur the cat, were inseparable in life.
So, when 17-year-old moggy Arthur died, Oscar was left inconsolable. Their owners, Robert and Mavis Bell, buried Arthur in the garden.
But Oscar's love for his friend would not die – and during the night, he pulled the cat from his grave, carried him inside, laid him in the basket they used to share and gently cleaned him up.
Which is one of those things that's heartwarming when an animal does it, but kind of creepy when a human does the same.
Mr Bell found the pair curled up together in the basket. He said: 'Oscar had watched me bury Arthur. They had been inseparable.'
Arthur is now buried in a secure grave in the garden at the Bells' home in Wigan and Oscar has a new playmate kitten called Limpet.
'He's already very protective of her,' Mrs Bell said.
Love Always

I love both cats and dogs:thumb_yello:
I have come to understand that when cats purr they are infact re-balancing there bodies, self healing if you will, Resonance vibrational frequency.
An old friend of mine had a brain tumor removed, sent home to recover. Her 3 cats sensed she was ill and laid around her pillows near her head, for 2 weeks, purring the whole time, Doctors were amazed at her seemingly quick recovery. She is convinced it was due to the help of her cats.
Peace always

Trancoso - You just gave me an idea. Hmmm.... apparently the Tavistock Institute 'promoted' {like p4blo's avatar! to the head!} the word 'cool' in the 1960's. Hmmm, I think now that they were stealing! appropriating! the beatnik cool cat, blasting it! with military grade LSD...

When I think of dogs and cats I reminds me of left brain and right brain qualities... Yin and Yang.
A friend told me of a legend that says male and female essences incarnate within
dogs and cats to learn about their complementary quality .
Female essences incarnate in dogs and men in cats.

Well dang yall, I've always known I was different, but when I joined Avalon October 2008, I thought I fit right in. Now I have to fit into a dog or cat category when I'm a goat lover? :lol3: I've had dogs, and loved em all, as long as they stayed outside. I had one cat, it tore up the house, so it was evicted by way of giving it to someone who loves cats. The funny part is, I got 2 baby goats back in August, fell in love with them, lost one of them, and Merlin (the one we still have) is spoiled rotten. When I feed him in the mornings, he gets to come in the house, bounce through the kitchen down the hall to the storage area (where we keep the 50 pound bags of feed) and on the way out he just has to jump on the sofa and love seat and do flips off of them. Lately, he's discovered that he likes to add my indoor plants to his breakfast menu, so it's likely that I'll move my plants rather than miss the joy that comes from watching his excitement to be inside with humans for a few minutes of each day. He even has a leash and loves to take long walks, and his collar is bright red with a big red jingle bell hanging from it.

As a dog person i can say that my cat has no servants...
Pretty sure if it had a chance it would escape for good... but it has kitty luekemia so that's not an option.
Although it did manage to escape the other night when she was in heat.

Beautiful picture, Mudra.
A cat with a hat.
At one time I had a dog (a Dobberman Pincher) & 2 cats, & they had so much fun together.
If people would get along with each other the way those 3 animals did, Earth would be heavenly.
It takes less energy to love, than to hate, & love makes you feel so much better, than the latter.

We stopped inviting cat people over to the house. Slow conversation, and they'd leave furballs under the coffee table.
Ok... Wife and I live on 1/2 acre in a housing tract that is zoned for horses.
At one point we had 3 cats, 4 dogs, and a horse living here.
(See, our children had the good sense to escape, years ago,
and we had to replace them with something!)
Cats and dogs can co-habit quite well, once they understand you insist on it.
We never did figure out how to house-break the horse though.
A tip: Forget cat boxes, walks, etc. there is only one sure path to sanity with this many critters... Doggie Door !!

Definitely a Dog Lovers story………..
A teacher is explaining biology to her 4th grade students. “Human beings are the only animals that stutter,” she says.
A little girl raises her hand. “I had a kitty-cat who stuttered.”
The teacher, knowing how precious some of these stories could become, asked the girl to describe the incident.
'Well', she began, 'I was in the back yard with my kitty and the Rottweiler that lives next door got a running start and before we knew it, he jumped over the fence into our yard!'
'That must've been scary,' said the teacher.
'It sure was,' said the little girl.
'My kitty raised her back, went "Ffffff!, Ffffff!, FfffffF," but before she could say '**** Off!,' the Rottweiler ate her!
The teacher had to leave the room.
