As i sit here going over all the new and old threads... i am asking myself what does it mean for some to be here...
this is what i have noticed...
1- They are seeking to learn more about specific subjects
2- They are in a position to share useful information
3- They seek to discuss different opinions and perceptions about a variety of subjects.
4- They want to climb on top of a soap box and be heard
5- They feel lost and need a place to belong
i am sure there are many other varied reasons...but these 5 seem to cover the majority ...
What Avalon means to me...
At first...
i came here because of my husband, GaiaLove. His attention to information here has brought light to our lives.
As i settled in to Avalon...
i found myself perplexed by the vast amount of information embedded in both text and video... and became overwhelmed..
When i returned to Avalon...
i found friends..people who love me...and are helping me...
i am never here as often as i would like...but i never truly leave...
What does Avalon mean to you?

There are some lovely people here but I am feeling more and more a bad feeling as there seems to be a few people that really THINK they know it all and try to force their opinions on others.
Not sure how I came to be here, it just happened hopefully I am helping others to learn while I learn :original:

Well, Swanny it is pretty obvious to many of us here that you were planted here by the GFL. :lmao:
Sorry Swanny, my ego couldn't resist that.
Peace out! :tongue2:

If i am wholly honest to myself its a distraction. A means to stop me letting go and fulfilling my potential. Validation for the part of me that keeps making excuses.
If i look at some of the people i would nominate as role models: sir ranulph fiennes, ray mears, Ellen MacArthur; I see myself getting caught up in things that don't matter.
Saying that though, i enjoy it. I thought i had strayed from my path a few years ago, until i realized there is no straying. Life is the path, whichever way you play it. There is no right or wrong, there is only experience. I seek comfort in that when i think i am spending too long in one place and it consoles me. It brings back choice and the freedom to choose a new direction.
also, if you haven't guessed, i am more spiritual in my direction. I visit places such as this forum to give me a different perspective, a more grounding ( sometimes ) point of view.

Hi Céline, thanks for your sincere thoughts. If I must allocate myself into one of the 5 groups, then you could find me most in the first and then a bit also in the second group.
But I would say, Avalon is much more then just to index its members in a particular group.
For me is Avalon a place where I come with joy, as I can find so many likeminded people here, which emotional and energy patterns just match with mine :wub2:
Too pitty to see that sometimes Avalon gets missused from some of us to carry on some private wars...:wall:
with :wub2: and respect

people who refuse to talk with love...will not be heard by the people of light. , people who have personal agendas are easily spotted here, thankfully....

All of the above, except #4 as I don't feel the need to get on a soap box. However, Avalon is like an oasis in the desert for me. I don't know anyone who is interested in either spirituality or ETs.
So Thank You for being here:wub2:

Nice to meet you Céline, in the context you shared. This forum means quite a bit to me, maybe more than it should. I am very attached (like I would be to kin) to many members here. If I posted responses to everything I read and how much it means, or doesn't mean, I'd never get off the computer.
It just seems to be an interesting place to hang out. I mostly like to hash things out, though it depends on my mood, trying to make sense of things. I enjoy the exposure to different points of view, discussion etc.
It is very nice to meet you as well!
though i feel i know all of you very well...
i to enjoy reading the different points of view...and i agree...one cannot respond to everything! lol
