I would love to hear about anyone who has seen/experienced anything to do with the little people.
I myself havnt but my grandmother had two encounters in the 1950s. The first was a nighttime visitation from a small and plump thing with thin limbs. It came to look at my mother who at the time had just been born. My grandmother felt it leaning on her side and turned over to find it running to the bedroom door - which it passed through like a ghost.
The second encounter happened when my mother was about six years old. My grandmother felt a chill in the house but couldnt establish its origin. My mother then screamed and called my gran to the front room. My gran rushed in and found my mum cowering in a corner of the room. At first gran thought there had been a rat in the house but my mother pointed to the fireplace. Nothing was there so she asked my mother what she was pointing at. She described what had happened - a little, slim man dressed in green clothing was sat near the fire. His legs where crossed and both hands where under its chin(in a V shape). It turned its head to look as my mother ran into the room. It had the face of a very old man which made it look frightening. When my mother screamed, it faded away.
To this day, both mum and gran can still recall these experiences.
Anybody out there had anything similar happen?

Great thread!
I've always wondered about this event that happened several years ago. I had gone to a spiritual workshop, driving about 5 hours to get there. I had arrived late for the opening session, so I sat in the large lobby of the hotel where this was happening, just hanging out and calming down after the long drive, getting my energy into the right place.
As I'm sitting there, a little oldish man (meaning he looked to be in his 60s maybe and was about, maybe, 5 feet tall, very thin) dressed in a green suit (modern style, jacket, pants), comes walking over to me. He's singing out loud.
I smiled at him and said, "Well, it's a good day to be singing, I guess."
He replied: "I always sing because it's always a good day."
Truthfully I can't remember what happened after that, where he went. I didn't take this as any particularly odd event at the time, just this odd little man walking around singing. When I did decide to look for him, I couldn't find him.

Yes. That's what I thought, and it seemed a good sign, too, since I had been a little anxious about missing the first session of the workshop. After he visited me, I just relaxed and contemplated what a good day it was. Then I got to thinking: little man wearing green clothes, singing, and he came straight up to me. What the heck? Then I couldn't find him!

well my grandfather and his sister always said they saw a little old person (like a little elf or something) in their room when they were kids.
this other story happened to my mother who is very perceptive. she went to the supermarket and she was feeling very sad and frustrated because we were experiencing money problems. when she was in the parking line a man aproached her and told her: "you see that man over there?" and he pointed to an elegant man getting out of his car. "he is the owner of this supermarket chain and he is very rich but he has no happiness in his life at all, money isn't everything" he said and then he walked away. my mother stood there thinking and when she turned to look at him he had dissapeared. until this day she is convinced that he was an angel.

Wonderful story! Perfect. Just what she needed to hear!
My niece got a little freaked out when she told me this story: She was hiking out west somewhere in the Rockies with a small group of people, but she was separated from them. She had gotten to some point pretty high up on very rocky terrain. She had to move from where she was and go through a kind of hole in the rocks, but to do that she had to let go of her handholds. She was very afraid. Then she said this guy showed up who went right by her to where she was trying to get to. He wasn't part of the group. He didn't speak to her. So, on impulse, she just followed him. She made the move and everything was OK, but she couldn't see where he had gone after she got through the hole! I think this was an angel, too.
These are great stories!

Sometimes, all it takes is a few words to change you life when you feel down. From what ive read here it seems to point to the fact that angels/guides/nature spirits are all around and always with you. There have also been tales of people losing someone dear to them and finding comfort in a animal or bird that comes to them.

Here's the other side of the coin, for me. I don't have many of these stories, really just this one.
I have only ever been one place in my life that actually felt evil. It happened while hiking on the Appalachian Trail in southwest Virginia, in some part of the Jefferson National Forest, I think.
My hiking companion and I took a side-trail to explore down a hillside. As we went further and further down, the trail went through a dense stand of rhododendron. Normally, these are very bushy plants that make beautiful flowers, but these were tall, with all the foliage at the top, above our heads. The trunks were thin, but densely packed very close together, forming almost a wall on both sides of the trail. It was very hot, humid, and very claustrophobic in there. It was hard to breathe, and this stand of rhododendron seemed to go on forever.
We realized we didn't like where we were, but decided to keep going to see if this would end. As we reached the lowest point of the trail and it started to go back up the other side, there was a humongous old tree to the side of the trail. The root system of this thing was enormous, with huge, massive roots undulating over the surface of the ground in all directions and across the trail. The tree was black. I don't know what kind.
At first I thought this was some sort of wise old tree and I was ready to encounter it, express appreciation for its uniqueness. Then the strongest feeling of fear came over me that I have ever experienced, a wave of cold fear.
My friend and I didn't say a word to each other. We just stopped, turned around, and got out of there! I have no idea what this was about.

In iceland they have to ask the permission of fairie and elf before laying a new road or building a house. There ar trees in that country that look out of place and this is because builders in the past had to place a building to its side instead of thru it. Without their permission, all kind of accidents and curses happen. Perhaps in your experience - the tree and/or its inhabitants was angry with some situation?
Good tale mate, thanks

Well mark yes again this has crossed my families past.
Where i lived as a child there was a very large wooded area the whole place is very old indeed and goes back to the jurassic era so they say fossils and the like have been discovered there.
This area is also important with the death of Thomas Beckett i will go into this another time.
In the woods that surround the old abbey ruin was a very special place.
There are people even today who try to find the magical pond.
Every year in the local paper a collumn is dedicated to this pond and askes if anyone has ever found it.
I never saw it as a small child but have since.
my two older sisters have found this special place in their childhood, one sister who is a psychic saw tiny beings fairies she called them.
She used to play in the woods with her little friend when they were around 7 or 8, one day they came across a small opening in the woods in front of them was a beautiful area of water, she said she remembered how the sun streamed through the trees and shone across, lightening the whole area.
My sister thought she saw something moving in the undergrowth and she hid with her friend behind a bush,
To their amazement they both witnessed two fairy like beings forraging on the floor of the woods gathering leaves and things.
They sat and watched the sight that complete mesmirised them.
For the whole summer holidays the two girls went along to the woods each day and sat and watched the little beings who she said knew they were being watched but just let them carry on, they never approached them though, until one evening my sisters friend went to bed as usual but was woken in the early hours by a little man dressed in green clothes and a tiny hat on his head sitting on her dressing table looking at her possesions.
She screamed when her mum came to investigate of course the little man had gone.
This frightened my sisters friend so much she didn't want to go back to the woods no more so the special thing they both shared stopped abruptly as it had started.
We have been back since my sister myself and my daughter we never saw anything that day but three dragonflies flew over our heads whizzing round us we wondered.
The pitures we took, gave us a surprise though as my sister and daughter sat upon a bench in the woods where the dragonflies flew overhead in the corner on the photo quite clearly two little fairies, one playing a flute one sitting straddled a tree stump.

Can you show us those pictures?
Now you make me wonder ... every time I went outside my house this summer, at least one and sometimes two, butterflies would come over to say hello. They would fly around me and follow me. They even landed on my shoulder or my arm. They always made me smile.

My encounter happened when I was about 3 or 4 years old, but it wasn't with anything I'd think of as a "nature spirit". My mom and I were getting ready to go out. I was standing in the hallway waiting for her so we could leave. While I was waiting I looked down the flight of stairs and standing at the bottom of the stairs was a tall, reptilian looking being about the size of a man (at least from my 3 year old perspective). I have a vague memory of it grinning at me and yet I wasn't scared of it, only intrigued. I ran in to get my mother and when we both came out, naturally the thing was gone. Never saw anything like it again. And no, I wasn't dreaming. :winksmiley02:

You're welcome. I have no idea. This tree was OLD, very very old. I don't know if it has stored all the bad vibes from this area or what. It was in a very out of the way place, so it's not like there was a lot of traffic there on that side-trail, at least not now, in the present. But you speaking of asking permission does make me wonder. I believe in that, asking permission. I did not ask for permission to pass by the tree on the trail. I wonder how this would have worked out if I had. At the time, I was just awestruck by how enormous it was, and particularly the roots above ground all over the place, then I felt afraid and didn't want to go past it.
Thanks for your insights. All of this helps me understand experiences I have had a little better.

Very interesting Whitewolf, I can tell you the following that may interest you.
I travel alot in my job and when I`m in the heart of nottingham and have time go on what is called a jolly - using worktime for your own pursuits.(naughty) There is a shop in Notts that sells books, talismans, does aura reading etc. I have become a good friend of the gentleman that runs it and I once told him about my mum & gran. He is a healer and his wife is a medium. She is from Australia and that is where they both met. He told me of a very interesting counter when he lived over there. He used the house they had as a base from which to work. People would come and go requesting readings, healings and advice.
Then one day this women came in stating that she needed help for she felt ill, rundown and had nightmares. A standard laying of hands was performed upon her and this is when somthing amazing happened.
The womens face looking all so relaxed became what can be best described as foggy. It began to clear shortly afterwards and now had a different look. Paul(sopkeeper) told me that it now looked like an animal shaped head - almost doglike without the hair. Its eyes opened and it turned to look up at Paul. He felt a connection and decided to stop the healing for it wasnt needed. He told me that the being was a visitor here and not evil. It came through space without a ship like others of its kind and chose to experience humanity. It liked the women and decided to guard her for it saw alot of dark energy around her. It also relished the experience of understanding another form of being. The being told Paul that it would clear away and unwanted energy and then bluntley told him to leave it alone. the women woke up and felt better, smiled, payed and then left. Over the next few days Paul kept catching a figure nearby in the corner of his eye. As soon as he looked in its direction it vanished. Somedays later he meditated upon this concern and learnt that the being was not in anyway evil or negative - in fact it felt tremendous compassion for him. His wife asked the spirits and she was told that it was a elemental being from some other realm that got curious after Pauls attempted healing session onhe women. The being had been healing the women itself and this was why she felt off balance. It was its way of saying thank you for allowing it to be part of her. It had then gone to Paul to just watch his life&motives and quickly learned that he was a very sincere person. He then saw it at times and on these occasions it was clearing away unwanted energy. Soon after all this had happened the being stopped appearing. It had moved on.
So perhaps not all beings that look scary or hideous are negative.
Thanks mate for reminding me of this tale.
Cheers
Mark

What a good story.
had a cat once i thought was a little strange she came with another cat her mother.
both these were put into a cat sanctuary because the original owner was moving abroad and he couldn't keep them anymore.
My husband and i was looking to take another cat on so we decided to try the sanctuary we thought a kitten would be to much to look after so we decided on an older cat.
we passed the pen where mother and daughter were placed, both us fell in love with these two cats because they were both very old, 12 and 14 and the story the lady told us was that they had never even been out of the flat they lived in since they were kittens.
i felt so sorry for them both, never seen the sun light so to speak or feel the fresh air on them.
I decided to take both of them although i only really wanted to have one initially.
They had been at the sanctuary for 6 months and no one wanted them because they were so old.
When we got then home the youngest one started to show some strange behaviour, she was an odd looking cat with a strip down her nose, one half of her face looked as though she was smiling the other side looked quite evil i fact.
I think this put people off taking then also.
But we loved her all the same.
She had a new life she went out and enjoyed herself, the mum never ventured further than the back door.
Cut a long story short here, we lost the younger one about 6 months after she came to us, sadly her niavity on the roads cost her life and she was run down one day.
We held a ceremony for her and buried her at the bottom of the garden and stood a large heavy garden statue on top.
The following morning we noticed the bin bags at the bottom of the garden had been torn into again and all the debris lay around(something the cat did every night) My husband set about clearing the mess saying that;s odd must be another cat we always blamed poor old batty (nick name)
Then he noticed the large stone garden statue had been pushed over and was now lying on it;s side.
Thats odd my husband said, as he tried to pick it up a sudden gust of wind rushed passed him.
I actually saw this the whole bush shook beside him.
I actually think that is was batty she obviously didn't think she was dead and was carrying on like she did before her departure.
I nearly asked my husband to dig her up again just to make sure but of course she was dead it was just her spirit.
But what i haven't mantioned here was that i felt her spirit not to be animal, earth spirit but something from another place and time.
I can not go into it here it would take to long to explain but i always felt i had to free her and finally i did.:original:

Wonderful story, Jacqui.
I know ... this gets very complicated as to who and what we, or they, really are. Some animals have very specific and unique characteristics that are very hard to view as animal. I had a cat that was clearly a princess, in the very best sense of the word, very elegant, intelligent, full of dignity ... more than a cat. No way to explain these things!

Mark that's a very interesting story, but for my own case, I cannot possibly see why a scary looking creature would appear to me only once in my life, to simply stare at me with a menacing look on its face and then suddenly disappear. What did it want? Did it want to kidnap me but knew I was too well-protected by guardian beings? Why haven't I had any encounters with it since? It's appearance to me seemed very useless, sort of like a failed attempt to kidnap me or something after testing the waters. There is a man, I wish I could remember his name, who claims to have contacts with benevolent beings that he refers to as Andromedans, who claim that there are reptilian beings in cahoots with the earth's global elite, who kidnap people who serve as a source of food for them. Scary stuff if you ask me. So I have absolutely no reason to believe that this humanoid reptilian I saw as a young child was anything other than malevolent. Of course I can't prove it either.

In August 2007 I was investigating a mysterious bare circle on a hilltop in the area I suspect of being an ancient ceremonial site. The circle is quite large and difficult to see from the ground - I spotted it from aerial photos. When I downloaded the shots from my camera, three of them clearly show a ball of mist rising from a bush on the left and drifting upward and to the right. I didn't see anything while shooting the pictures. You can see from the photos that the sun was behind me, casting my own shadow into the frame. This rules out lens flare.
Here are the three shots....

Your confusion is understandable, but you said it "grinned" at you and you were not afraid of it. Is it only now, as an adult, and knowing more stories about supposed reptilian ETs that you believe it must have been malevolent? Many who talk about the various ETs, including David Wilcock, say that there are reptoids that have switched sides and are working for the light. Maybe this was one of them? Maybe that's why you weren't afraid?

Jacqui or Anyone:
Jacqui, you mentioned wind and the bush shaking in the wind when your husband was inspecting the turned-over statue ...
I've had many experiences with wind that I have always found strange, many times when, for instance, a single leaf or branch on a bush will turn round and round and round, with nothing else around it moving. Or a single treetop swaying when the others are still. I've never understood how that can be. Do you think this is a sign of the presence of nature spirits or other energies? In June I was meditating outdoors and observed the wind moving the leaves of one tree only, when the leaves of that tree were intermingled at the crown with another tree right in front of it. The one in front wasn't moving. I kept waiting to see if the wind would move forward and get the one in front moving, but it never did. What's going on here?

Whitecrow:[/ Do you have any feeling about what that might have been? You didn't see it at the time, but did you have any particular impressions from the area while you were there taking pictures? Any sense of anything unusual?
No, I sensed only that I was on energetic ground, which I guess is kinda hard to explain. I was investigating a large round bare spot, shaped like a backwards C. It is about 400' across and sits on a hilltop adjacent to a hiking trail. It's nearly impossible to spot from the ground, and too big to photograph from the ground, too. So I was walking around the loop taking pictures as I went with my digital camera (an Olympus SP-510UZ). The pictures above were taken at the end of the C, after I'd walked the entire arc. I was facing west, and the time was shortly after dawn.
After taking the above pictures I clambered down into the brush you see in the pictures, and discovered what I believe is an ancient retaining wall that closes the open ends of the C. This wall is almost buried in the hard soil and is completely overgrown with brush. At the very least it'd have to be 100s of years old. It's just possible that it's a natural feature, but I don't think so and I am very familiar with the weird geology of this place.
Or a single treetop swaying when the others are still. I've never understood how that can be. Do you think this is a sign of the presence of nature spirits or other energies?
The first time heard the trees singing, I'd taken a walk in the evening down by the creek, and as I passed a particular grove of aspens where I always stop to admire the sound of them rustling in the breeze, I could swear I heard them singing to me. It was a still evening and the only tree moving was a sapling near me that swayed as if in a strong breeze, and as I stood listening in wonder to the voices of the trees, this sapling bent down and enfolded me in its branches for a moment.
I'm well aware there will be folks here who won't believe THAT story. All I can tell you is that it happened. This is a very magical place, for those who are open to it.

I understand what your saying whitewolf and think that we occasionally catch them off guard - we see through their cloaking tech or method. Which must p them off alittle. Perhaps the being you saw was just as surprised/shocked at you being able to observe it? Alot of people say that children are more in touch with the real world than adults. There minds and hearts are more open than a adult who is more engrossed in earning a living etc.

This IS a very magical place ... this site and this world, this physical reality. This site, this thread is one place that people WILL believe you. I have written in the indigo thread that so much of our experience has been denied and invalidated, especially as children. People have always told us we're just imagining things. Well, not necessarily. That tree moving by itself ... just like I experience, and I would say I see things like that quite frequently. That's not imagination.
Don't you feel like it was the tree saying hello? Did you feel blessed by that, even if confused about what was happening?
The whole Earth is alive. Everything has consciousness and intelligence. And by this thread we're also seeing that there are energies and beings who can hide within the forms of this planet and sometimes communicate with us.
This is very cool.
So you have no ideas about what that cloud or mist was in the photos?

This site is a place for us all to share our experiences and not all are standard ghost/ufo encounters. This place is open to any subject for it welcomes those who are fed up with having to accept a world where you have to believe this or accept that.
I hope all who read this understand that they dont have to feel afraid or silly in describing their personal experience. If anything, those who reply here are talking from the heart - trying to come to grips with something that happened to them or others close . They have found a place where they can share without unfair judgement.
It is time the powers that be stopped hiding the true reality and allowed us all to grow into a more positive fashion. This world we share is full of secrets and they remain that way only as long as people keep quiet.
I thank all who have read this and want you to know that your input to Avalon is valued. We share, we question, we grow - together!
I have found a site that contains close up images of nature. Some show surprising images. The site is www.differentnature.com. Although I feel unsure with some of the images at least it is an attempt to reveal what the naked eye cannot see!
See you all soon

Thanks, Macros. I looked at that site and will have to look again. But the face in the water reminded me of an experience I had last fall.
Last fall I went back to where I grew up to see what had changed. The old path through the woods that I used to walk to get to a waterfall was overgrown and laid over with fallen trees. Toward the end of the path, where it goes between some large rock formations, someone had bent saplings over the trail from both sides and joined them together, forming an archway. I thought that was pretty cool and that I would have to come back in the spring when the leafy arch was in bloom.
I got to the waterfall and found the rocks I used to sit on still right there, so I sat and lost myself in the water and woods and watched the light change. Over the course of several hours the light began to illuminate the pool at the bottom of the waterfall. At one point there was clearly a face, a man's face, lit up on the bottom of the pool. He looked rather stern and unsmiling, but I didn't feel a threat from him. At just about that same time, the bounced light reflections from the surface of the pool formed a perfect circle on the surrounding rocks and tree trunks and bushes. Then the light continued to change, and all of this faded away.
This waterfall had always been a magical place. I was glad to see that it still is.
Thank you for your encouraging words above. I very much like this thread and hearing peoples' stories. I hope more people will tell their stories here.

The one of the face - beautiful photo, by the way. The face strikes me as rather fierce. This is quite different from the face I saw, which was clearly on the bottom, under the water, and it was green and much like a human face, very stern, unsmiling.
The other picture there - I don't get that one yet. All I see is crystaline forms.

Don't you feel like it was the tree saying hello? Did you feel blessed by that, even if confused about what was happening?
Saying hello, definitely! I had already been wandering along the creekbanks for a couple years, shooting hundreds if not thousands of pictures of, well, everything. I have a visceral feeling about the land here that I find hard to explain. I grew up here, then moved away for almost 25 years. Coming back, I found the old familiar connection stronger than ever, and I've been on a real journey of discovery. So in a way, I was NOT surprised when the trees spoke to me and sang to me. Because of the already-existing connection I wasn't confused at all by what was happening, but blessed? My, oh yes!
So you have no ideas about what that cloud or mist was in the photos?
Ideas, yes...but I wouldn't want to attempt a "definition" of what that was. One thing that has occurred to me is that it could actually have been a bit of water vapor. I view that as a pretty remote possibility...but the thing is, immediately before beginning my traverse of the C-shaped formation, I had had a very near run-in with a mountain lion. I never actually saw her, but know from sounds that she made that I was probably no more than six feet away from her, separated by thick brush, when we first became aware of each other. Only moments later I saw her mate silhouetted atop a nearby ridge. I do NOT believe there was any large mammal concealed in the brush when I took the photos...but IF there was...I suppose it's possible that the mist could have come from an exhalation.
I assure you, that is NOT the explanation. I offer it as the only materialistic interpretation I can think of. A nature spirit? A ghost of one of those who once lived here? A random energy spasm? No, I do not know what it was. I only know that it is there in the photos, and that I used several methods of tweaking the image to establish that it is an actual object in the photo...not, for instance, some kind of camera anomaly.
I've made a kind of study of digital camera anomalies too. This wasn't one.

These picturers that are from the site are all mostly zoomed images. This makes it kind of hard to see without study what was captured on film. The second pic i have shows a smiling mother(?) and two children(?). The main figure looks like it is wearing a robe or coat and appears to be sat down. If you look just below dead centre of pic you will see two eyes, nose, mouth and chin. moving to the right and below - at least two smaller creatures.
There is another pic on the site that shows a mouse or rat(not sure) and to its side in the grass is a bluish faced figure looking at the camera.
see you later

Hi Whitecrow ... just getting back to this thread ...
Can you describe what the singing of the trees sounded like?
I had an experience once, only time in my life I recall such a thing. I had attended a presentation by the Dalai Lama's monks. They were raising money for Tibet. They sang and chanted (very deep low tones) and blew those long Tibetan horns. This was in a "church" structure called Unity Church which I guess was non-denominational. During the chanting I began to hear a flute, a series of rising tones, high-pitched. Of course, no one was playing a flute! Someone told me that I was hearing the harmonics of the building, that every geometric shape has its own sound, and something in the sounds produced by the monks and horns had activated it.
This, of course, doesn't relate to your outdoor experience with the tree, but I have this reference for an unaccounted-for sound, so I was wondering what the singing sounded like.
Water talks to me all the time! I have gone camping by streams where I couldn't sleep at all because of the -- not noise -- but voices, in the water.
Thanks for your thinking about what the mist might have been.

Being a budding artist allows you to study nature and appreciate it even more. After studying different types of tree (birch being my favorite) does anyone ever get the impression that when they sway in the breeze they enjoy this - a sort of dance or workout for the tree(s).
Just an idea that i have always suspected could contain truth.

Very cool, macros! Absolutely! I've often thought that, that they enjoy it, that the wind gives them a chance to dance. Same thought!
Advice to the budding artist: Persistence! I'm an artist. Right now I do photo-realistic wildlife illustration, which is a fantastic although not terribly creative thing to be doing. I don't have much room for personal artistic expression in this, but it lets me really study how Nature has put together all the fantastic lifeforms on this planet. As you know, it's incredible stuff, WAY more beautiful than it "needs to be." Interestingly, I find plant forms much more complex than animal or insect. Very intricate, delicate and subtle.

Can you describe what the singing of the trees sounded like?
In my rambles both along the creek across the street from my apartments and out in the hills, I seem to "feel" the energy of the place. I had long been in the habit of mentally greeting the spirits of the place, even though my idea of what that means is a little nebulous. It seems to me that everything has a spirit, even my car has something resembling that on some level. I'm serious: even the dumpster. I don't dwell on dumpster spirits, but I do live by the proposition that at some level, there is intelligence in everything. I thank the white sage that gives me my smudge wands. I greet the spirit of the coyote or the mountain lion when I meet them, and no animal has ever threatened me.
There's a big aspen over by the creek, with spreading roots and babies of all sizes surrounding her. I often stroll by to admire her in the evening light, and one evening about a year ago, I became aware of a sort of hum, very much like voices chanting, that seemed to come from everything around me but especially the great aspen and her little grove of offspring. I did not hear this with my physical ears of course, but it was a definite sense of getting something telepathic. I was startled. Mentally, I addressed the tree: It's YOU, isn't it! And the tree responded: It is us. We know you. We welcome you. We call you Man Who Walks. No other trees have "spoken" with me, but I "hear" their music, and I am more keenly aware than ever that every bit of living matter is infused with spirit and intelligence.
This is the kind of thing I don't talk about with very many people. It's great to have a forum like this where folks can share these things. My experiences, I've learned, while unusual perhaps, are hardly unique.
...During the chanting I began to hear a flute, a series of rising tones, high-pitched. Of course, no one was playing a flute! Someone told me that I was hearing the harmonics of the building...
That explanation is exactly right, and it must have been a wonderful thing to hear. I used to have one of those trumpets. There's a vocal group called The Harmonic Choir that uses the ability of the human vocal chords to utter harmonics. The effect is absolutely stunning.

WhiteCrow ... you're in the right spot. So many people feel at home on this forum, perhaps for the first time ever, any place.
When we're not used to speaking of these things, we get into that "apologetic" mode that I find myself using with "normal" people. You don't expect to be believed. But here some of us know exactly what you're talking about.
You feel the energies of place. I do too, no question about it. It's always been a private kind of knowing that I could not talk to other people about, but I know a good place when I'm in one and it's an energy thing.
Yes, all of life is alive, has consciousness and intelligence. Even rocks and dumpsters, as you say.
Great story about the trees talking to you! Wonderful!
I'm not sure, but I think that one thing we do, this "we" who experience these things, is slow down and get quiet. People who are rushing around on "important" business never see these things; people whose minds are too busy never see these things. I once worked in a large organization. At lunch I would go out and walk around the grounds, but nobody ever joined me in those walks. Somebody asked me what I was doing out there. I said, "Looking at everything," (although I was also listening and feeling too). After that, still nobody joined me! What they missed one day was a whole flock of rainbow buntings flying by.

WhiteCrow ... you're in the right spot. So many people feel at home on this forum, perhaps for the first time ever, any place.
Yes, it's quite wonderful. I've been fortunate to know a few people I can share much of this with, including my wonderful wife who is a healer and empath in her own right.
You feel the energies of place. I do too, no question about it. It's always been a private kind of knowing that I could not talk to other people about, but I know a good place when I'm in one and it's an energy thing.
The land beneath us is ancient and has seen many things. It may be academic to argue whether it is "alive" as so many of us feel it to be, but it is genuinely full of mystery and wonder, things most people never see or find. It carries the imprint of many things, and there are energies we can feel if we choose to.
You also live in a spot where the land is energetic. This aspect of North America is under-explored.
Out where the standing stones are I have found and mapped one perfect alignment between two places that certainly feel magical to me, and a standing stone, perhaps forty feet high, that marks the midpoint on the line. I don't know what it means exactly, but I have had a couple of amazing experiences in the places at each end of the line. One is a high rocky crag that can only be reached by a single trail (which I found using aerial photos). At this spot I have felt energy so strong it nearly caused me to fall. I could "hear" and "see" it in a way that electrified me. Since then, I only climb to that spot if I feel I am welcome there. I have shared the location with a very few people, and none of them could find it again.
The other spot, a mile and a half away, is an ancient grove of oaks in a prehistoric lakebed. This place seems magical and timeless. The first time I visited it I expected to find the usual gum wrappers and cigarette butts, which I pick up and carry out in a trash bag when I hike. Instead I found no sign anyone had been there...the ground was littered with owl and hawk feathers...it feels and looks like an enchanted place. At one end of this grove there is what could be an ancient stone circle...if so the stones have been disturbed at some time in the past. From this pile of stones one can visually line up the standing stone and the high point in the distance. I'll have to get a photograph of that up. At this end of the grove, just within the tree line, is a large rock shaped like a chaise longue. It's a very comfy seat...only I tend to dream the day away when I sit there...I call it the Throne of Dreams.
Oh yeah, one other thing about the large standing stone that marks the midpoint of the line...when you stand in a certain spot it has the profile of a man. It's just shaped that way - not sculpted - but the fact it's presented that way is no accident. The spot you stand on to see this is right on top of a fault in the earth where energy flows out like electricity. Most people are able to feel this if I point it out to them...but it boggles my mind that thousands of people have seen these things and never questioned whether they are natural formations.
I'm not sure, but I think that one thing we do, this "we" who experience these things, is slow down and get quiet.
That's an important insight, and in my opinion it is at the heart of the shaman way of seeing.

Yes, it's energetic here, in fact, very disorienting. I have met a few people who feel the same disorientation, especially as to cardinal directions. Somehow they feel wrong here, like north and west aren't in the right place. It's strange. I've been told it has to do with the rocks here, I am assuming because of the energy they store.

This sounds very much like a natural portal. Apprently they are scattered all over this planet, probably along ley lines or in some organized way. Something similar is said about standing stone circles in Scotland. People are warned to be careful, because although a portal is perhaps an enticing idea, the portals may not lead to good places.

You're very tuned in and you're very lucky to have such a wife! Imagine living in a community where all of this is daily fare. The energy level of such a place would be a very high starting-point for further growth and experience. We've come this far alone. I indeed found a very nice crystal deposit in a "blast area" on a local ski resort while hiking or rather bushwacking during the off season. I found only quartz crystals thus far. It was a very exciting experience for me though, to find them in the rough like that. There were also lots of pyrite(fools gold we later found after being fooled:sneaky2:), and other silver types of metals in the same area. I can snap some pictures of them if your interested in seeing what they look like. I haven't cleaned them yet, I need to get a certain type of acid from what I hear.
Also to stay on topic I'll paste some information on "nature spirits" as described by HP Blavatsky in one of her books. I posted this in another fairy thread, and I quote:
"ELEMENTAL SPIRITS.- The creatures evolved in the four kingdoms of the earth, air, fire, and water, and called by the kabalists gnomes, sylphs, salamanders, and undines. They may be termed the forces of nature, and will either operate effects as the servile agents of general law, or may be employed by the disembodied spirits - whether pure or impure - and by the living adepts of magic, sorcery, to produce desired phenomenal results. Such beings never become men.
Under the general designation of fairies, and fays, these spirits of the elements appear in the myth, fable, tradition, or poetry if all nations, ancient and modern. Their names are legion - peris, devs, djins, sylvans, satyrs, fauns, elves, dwarfs, trolls, norns, nisses, kobolds, brownies, necks, stromkarls, undines, nixies, salamanders, goblins, ponkes, banshees, kelpies, pixies, moss people, good people, good neighbors, wild women, men of peace, white ladies, and many more. They have been seen, feared, blessed, banned, and invoked in every quarter of the globe and in every age. Shall we then concede that all who have met them were hallucinated?
These elementals are the principal agents of the disembodies but never visible spirits at seances, and the producers of all the phenomena except the subjective."

Hi doodha, yes i feel that sometimes the parallel we are in at this time ( our time) simply brushes along with another dimension.
This is why we see these spirits, ghosts, et's.
I too also think that there are places ,special places where these dimensions for a better word are more assessable, be it ancient live energy spots.
or they are simply time rift's.
My family have seen some very odd things over the years.
I mentioned in an earlier posting that my cat was buried after she had been tragically run over by a car yet her spirit moved on, but i also said that the cat i felt was not of this earth, i had a strong intuition that she wished to be released from these earthly binds be it tragically as it was she was finally let go and i know that she has returned from where she came.

Hi Jacqui,
I guess we are having experiences at the edges of those parallels, where they meet. I know I live in an energy vortex. The indications of that have been many. Over the years the energy has also changed. Now there is a dimensional portal in my yard that I have walked through in dreams. This was not there several years ago. There is no feeling of an electrical jolt, as Whitecrow experienced, when walking in the physical yard. The portal is not here, yet.
What I can say about walking through this particular portal is that it felt completely natural, the most normal thing in the world. I think that was a dream message about what it will be like, perhaps at physical ascension. You are here, you walk through, you are there. You don't feel any different, but you've probably become invisible to those on this side. This is not death, but a simple physical act of walking.
This parallels my own experience of "raising my vibration." When vibrating at a higher notch, after a while it just feels like your normal state of being. You really don't remember what you felt like before. I think walking through that portal is like that, and that "ascension" will be like that too.

I have a collection of crystals of various types. Most are quartz, and I have a couple amethysts, too. I like to put them around plants, too. I also have 8 stone balls of various sizes, from about 2.5" to 4". I find these stones very grounding, and sometimes use them when meditating. I don't have a clear quartz ball, but I have a citrine that is very beautiful, and I sometimes use that one for scrying. I have a wonderful lapis sphere...it's light blue rather than the more valuable dark color, but it has spectacular circular swirls and veins, and is heavily flecked with pyrite. My other favorites are a large clear green-and-purple fluorite ball, and one that's black obsidian marbled with pyrite.
I also like to string crystal points along with semiprecious stones. I often sell these, but I have a few that I won't part with. My favorite is a string of labradorites and rubies, with antique bone beads and a fairly small point.

Hi all. I have been wrestling with a idea that the fairy, elf, gnome etc exist in two dimensions. Sightings in our world are for needs of gathering substance such as nectar, repair energy/aura to plant&animal life, service their primary element - such as water. I feel the reason they are linked to woodland is simply because this is their anchor point in our dimension. Perhaps a trees central energy is a power source used to travel from here to there? Many look on them as gardens of the earth - in the sense that they heal and correct blocked energies along and inside the earth. Being creatures of dual nature one could assume that they often vist the earth plane as some form of recreation too -especially visiting the beauty of a wooden, the stream etc.
I have found some chanelled info that is interesting :
Leprechauns, elementals and, and Fairies, well there are tremendous categories, the Leprechauns are of a chief category found in Ireland, only in Ireland. Elementals are found everywhere and are the little people everywhere, from all different walks there are those elementals for the homage of those spirits, and of course in order to achieve anything that we want to accomplish, one must communicate with these spirits or elements, you cannot achieve anything unless you perceive the spirit and give homage to that spirit. As difficult as it is or as easy as it is, and believe us it is easy, if you want to achieve anything, offer up to the gods first, or the analyx, so that they will succeed in supporting your course, but no one can succeed without that of asking the elements to hand down what is necessary and needed. Of course the Fairies are the winged people, and these are etheric wings, which hover upon flowers and plants and leaves and trees and all that which give fruit, and that is only where you will find those, and at the base of trees, and flowing rivers, and falls and ice and snow and rock and glacier and sunsets and sunrises, mermaids and other galaxies beyond. Remember they come from other galaxies (dimensions?), they do not, they cannot belong totally to the earth.
The chanelled information then goes on to explain what you should do if you encounter one of these beings. You should ask it to see the king.(?) You meet this entity and agree to never bother the fairy or elf etc i return for their help in your life!

Hi macros,
The history between human and faerie that I've read seems to be that, although they can live in two dimensions, we have pretty much driven them out of this one. The Tuatha de Danaan, or Daoine Sidhe, supposedly left this world, sailed away to the west. Those were the elves that Tolkein depicted in Lord of the Rings, that class of elven folk. But his knowledge of them comes from many sources, not his imagination. We have destroyed too much forest and natural land and made them unwelcome. They are not happy with us, nor should they be!

Hi macros,
According to everything I have ever read about this topic, asking to visit the king is exactly the one thing you should NOT do, no matter what your intent is. If you are taken to visit the king, you will have to enter Faerie, that dimension where the king lives. All the stories I have researched say:
1. There are time-warps involved with entering Faerie. You may be in there what seems to you to be only a day, but 30 years (or whatever) will have gone by when you come out. Many who enter Faerie are not allowed to leave.
2. People who are allowed to leave Faerie may be returned to this world blinded or otherwise incapacitated.
This is the info I've turned up over the years researching this. I would like to believe that Faerie is a really cool dimension, but because we humans have treated them so badly, they are not very well disposed toward us. Maybe this will change at some point in the future as we have a chance to interact with them more directly in our Radiant Communities where positive thoughts and respect for the land are more common. I would hope so. In the meantime, I'd caution you to get some more info, then see what you think.

Yes doodah I agree with the apparent outcome of encoutering their realm. From what i have found many people who are believed to have been taken - never return or are messed up when faced with our realm of experience again. There tales that warn you never to accept anything from the fairy kingdom that is offered. Even eating their food is said to place an hold on you, bind you to a contract etc.
I feel that such encounters as these could have been accidental on our part. Intruding on there privacy and angering or scaring them.
There seem to be tales where a member of their world walks into our life and when this happens it is a more positive outcome.

09-20-2008, 05:13 PM
Hi macros. yes, I've heard all that too, especially that food thing. Never eat their food.
I want to tell another story of an odd thing. I moved back to Virginia, where I grew up, after living in NY state for a long time. While in NY, I had met Raven, a Native American healer. She was of a western tribe, but lived where the Iroquois Nation is still strong in NY. She held drumming circles for shamanic journeying.
I joined the circle, and during a journey there met my spirit guide named Yellowcloud, a Native. For years he was one of my guides who would show up in meditation or journeying. I really came to love Yellowcloud.
When I moved back to Virginia, after a while I noticed that Yellowcloud wasn't showing up in my meditations very often, so I sort of thought perhaps he was attached to the northern tribes and I accepted that he hadn't come with me (I know this doesn't particularly make sense, but ...)
Anyway, I made a garden in my brother's back yard, in the form of a medicine wheel. In the center of it I embedded a shaman staff that I had made, and I planted vegetables there for 3 years. During a storm, the shaman staff broke. When I dug up the staff, underneath it I found an arrowhead!
Now, it's common to find arrowheads, I know, so maybe nobody thinks this would be very strange. But the point is that my brother has lived on the same property for over 40 years. In that time, almost every inch of the property has been dug up for one reason or another. He has never found an arrowhead there.
I, of course, considered it a message from Yellowcloud, a gift to me. A spiritual reader told me that this was an "apport," an object materialized for me out of thin air. Gives me shivers even telling this story!
macrostheblack
09-20-2008, 06:51 PM
A good story Doodah, i wonder what the arrowhead represents to you? There are guides that have in past lifes been on earth with one of their pupils. Perhaps you where together back then - who knows.
You are blessed to know your guide(one of them) in this life. I havnt met mine though i think "he" is a "he" though as 3 times in my life a man as spoken to me offering support. The words although nothing special gave me a boost!
My grandmother is terrified of native indians especially the ones wearing head-dresses. I joke to her that maybe one is her guide. Though secretly i feel she was involved with them in a past life.
See you soon mate
doodah
09-20-2008, 07:24 PM
Macros, not sure what you mean by "meeting" your guides. Yellowcloud is a spirit guide. That I found this arrowhead in that particular spot (underneath the shaman staff in the middle of a medicine wheel!) was a significant physical event, but I have never met Yellowcloud in this life, I don't think.
I'm sure I have had Native American lifetimes. My spiritual link with them is very strong. I think I have also had a lifetime as a pioneer woman (white), on the opposite side of the coin, with very bad memories of Natives. A lot of feelings of sadness seem linked to that in my current life, but I have worked to clear that karma. Your grandmother being terrified pretty much suggests she has some bad past-life experiences associated with Natives. She could explore that if she felt inclined and clear that.
To find out who your guides are, go into meditation and ask for one to step forward. If for any reason you feel whoever steps forward is not a positive energy, tell your higher self you'd like a different guide. You can also ask for your power animals to show themselves.

Thats me getting mixed up - DOH - i do feel for the native american they`ve been through alot. At least they have`nt lost their patience, nor their wisdom.
A friend of mine once told me that he met his guide in a meditation session. He told me that this guide walked right up to his face and just looked at him. When my friend asked him is name, he simply shook his head and walked away. My friend got yhe impression that knowing his name was`nt important.
This firiend(fed up of calling him that - will call him bob:) introduced me to light body essences. These are herb coloured potions that you take a few drops of each day.

A guide is a helpful person/entity/being/whatever. If this "guide" who looked Bob in the face does not help Bob when Bob asks for that in meditation, I don't know what that was.
When Yellowcloud first appeared, marvelous things happened. I had asked a question in my journey, a real-life question that I was looking to answer. In the journey, he showed up and took me to his grandfather, and I received a most fabulous answer.
Later on, after many journeys, I asked his name. When he said Yellowcloud, I didn't believe him. I thought it was too trite, a cliche. For the next two journeys he would lead me places and then disappear. Or he would lead me to the edge of something and then not continue with me. When I accepted that his name really was Yellowcloud, this behavior stopped and he resumed his helpful guiding.

I think the native americans were probably the elders of this world with there spiritual beliefs and healing methods this was why they were persecuted by the powers that have taken a hold.
I always said if i ever got a chance i would definately live on an native american reservation, but i fear today i expect they don't really exist other than for tourism etc.
But what a wonderful experience that would be:wub2:
I feel they could tell me so much, tell me who i really am and what my purpose on this life cycle is:tears:

This is a very interesting thread! I've been able to communicate (through meditation) with energies/spirits for a long time, but I got a real education in energy-communication 4 years ago after my husband of 22 years passed away. I didn't see him right away, but within about a month of his passing, I became very aware of an energy-silhouette that would spontaneously show up on my left side. Even though I could not directly discern features, I knew it was my husband because of the way the shape would stand, its height, etc. It was kind of a shadow-shape, surrounded by what looked like the blue discharge-aura one sees in Kirlian photography.
Anyway, the shape would just kind of spontaneously appear in my mind's eye at least once a day, and it was vivid enough that it would interrupt whatever I was thinking about or doing. I would stop and take a moment to mentally acknowledge the shape and where it was standing, which was always just off to my left. After about three weeks of this, I started to wonder why my late husband's energy was always standing on my left side and never directly in front of me, or to my right. Then I had a sudden 'Aha!' moment, and I realized that the reason he was appearing to my left was that because in life, he was left-handed (and was always very proud of it). I finally understood that he wanted me to know it was really him, and not just me 'imagining things' out of grief, so he always came in to my left to make sure I got the hint.
I also had a hilarious thing happen when I started experimenting with the healing properties of solfeggio tones. I downloaded six nice tracks off the Internet which had each tone backed up by synthesizer harmonies. Each track was between 7 and 8 minutes long, and after listening to a couple, I began to get seriously annoyed with the 'steady whine' of the tones. I decided I would keep listening, but that I'd get up from in front of the computer and go wash a few dishes in the kitchen, thinking that maybe a bit of distance would make the tones less strident.
To make a long story short, after about 15 minutes, I decided that I finally didn't mind the tone I was listening to, and I was really starting to enjoy the subtle harmonies that the synthesizer was making with the tone. The only problem was that the track was only 7 and a half minutes long, and had stopped playing nearly 8 minutes before. What it was that I was 'listening to' for that 8 minutes I have no idea, but it sounded for all the world exactly like the track I had been playing. I was still 'hearing' the tone when I sat back down at the computer and replayed the track, discovering in the process that I was in fact hearing the same solfeggio tone that was on the track.
I've come to the conclusion that the Cosmos we live in is a really interesting and strange place, and that there are some very amazing things to be experienced if one lets go of the various cultural definitions of 'normal'...

Before my grandfather passed on, my grnadmother dreamt of seeing him come to her and sit down. He spoke of having to "go" and my gran was shocked and then angered with him. He said it was time to leave her and that he wouldnt be too far away. She awoke from this dream and woke him up saying - your not going to leave me are you? He (looking confused) ensured her that he would never leave her. A few weeks later he died.
! was born 3 weeks later and my gran spent alot of time with me, it helped her to cope. Soon after this she had another dream in which she was on holiday with me and my parents. We where all in a caravan. There was aknock at the door and my grandfather entered. My gran asked him what he was doing here? He told her that he had just come to see we where ok and he spent alot of time looking at me and smiling. When she aske him if he could stay for awhile he replied no. He told my gran that he couldnt stay long and left shortly afterwards.
Later that same year, my gran joined us onmy first holiday along the easten coast. When she saw the caravan she felt a shiver go down her spine! It was exactly as she had seen in her dream. My granfather never turned up but left her with a message that he was around us.

WILDFIRE FAIRIES
When I was three and a half years old, I lived next to a very old couple who let me play at the end of their garden; it was connected to our garden by a small wooden gate.
One day, the old woman, told me to go and talk to the fairies at the end of the garden. I obeyed and went to find the fairies. I remember sitting down and asking a fairy to appear.
I saw a very small pale blue fairy; it appeared in front of me. I honestly cannot remember what we talked about but I was delighted. I ran home quickly, to tell my mum and my older sister, Dee that I had just seen and spoken to a little blue fairy with very small wings.
However, no one believed me. I was told that there weren’t really fairies. This deeply puzzled me, as I had just spoken to one. I remember telling my nursery school teacher the next day, who again told me that fairies are only in fairy stories. I thought, well I can see the fairies, even if nobody else can.
I repeatedly tried to see the fairy again, but she never turned up. I decided then and there, the next time, I see a fairy. I am not going to tell anyone. As I knew that, the doubt put in my mind had broken the connection. I believed in fairies, because I had seen and spoken to one as a small child. We did reconnect many years later. She is a spirit guide of mine. :)
so if your kid tells you they can see fairies tell them how lucky they are ha ha

Wildfire--
Loved your Blue Fairy Story! It is so wonderful that you regained your connection with her, too.
When I was in kindergarten (back in the early 1950's), I drew pictures of 'black stars that you couldn't see' (this was way before the public ever heard of such a thing as a 'black hole') and when I drew a picture of the house I was living in, I drew this thing next to it that looked like a Tibetan offering-torma (I figured out what it was that I had drawn at about age 30, when I had my first brush with Tibetan Buddhism). When my teacher asked me what that 'thing next to the house' was, I told her it was my 'Chinese Spirit Tree'. I got the standard 'My, what a vivid imagination you have!' response. Sadly, it never occurred to any of the adults around me that I might be telling them truths about where I had been prior to the life I'm living now.
I think we'd be a lot further along spiritually if folks stopped rubbishing/repackaging children's visions as 'overactive imagination', and making kids turn their backs on all the wonderful insights they have, just so the parents can feel 'normal' (whatever that is)...

Had an odd experience just this evening...oh heck, by now I know better than to call it odd.
I was sitting on the patio, enjoying a cigarette with my wife, and we were talking quietly and enjoying the evening. It was just getting dark. I have many plants sitting around, and part of the patio is enclosed in redwood lattice, so it's quite cozy and has the feel of a mini-jungle. Now and then a neighbor will walk their little dog out back of the building, and I can see them through the lattice.
As we were talking, I clearly saw a man step around the corner of the building and walk toward the lawn. I even heard a slight jingle like a dog collar or perhaps some keys. I thought it was my neighbor Paul, and I started to say hello when I looked again and realized there was no one there. I got up and peered out around the patio rail, and there was simply no one there at all.
Not twenty minutes later, we were back at our computers, and Kaye called out asking where I was. She'd just clearly heard a man's voice just outside on the patio, and it scared her a little. She thought it said, "Hello? Anyone there?" or possibly "Hello? Are you there?"
A few years ago I was bringing our dog back into the building after a walk rather late on a winter night. There was some fog about. As I was climbing the steps to the front door of my building, I saw a man come down the sidewalk. He was wearing a tan jacket and a kind of vintage-looking hat on his head, a fedora or something. I turned to say hello, and did a double-take when I realized he only existed from the waist up - and in the same instant he simply vanished.
Since I have lived in this location I've seen ghosts several times, shadow people many times, elementals countless times, and things I can't even describe a couple of times.

One more story before I call it a night...on this thread I could tell many.
In the summer of 1995 my daughter was two-and-a-half years old. One night I heard her crying, and when I went into the bedroom she told me she had had a bad dream. I lay down next to her to soothe her and asker her to tell me about it. What she told me made my hair stand up. Later, I filled three pages with notes on what she said. I haven't been able to find those notes for years, but here is the gist.
She talked about a previous life in a place called Tormonto. From her description I guessed it might have been in Latin America somewhere. She described her house, her friends, and made it clear that she hung out with some very rough characters. The described being in a fiery car crash...described the car (blue and primer gray)...the ambulance...the doctors in the emergency room...and then she said: "And then, daddy, I rose up in the air like a balloon, and then I came here."
There were details in this story I will never believe could be made up by a two-year-old. By the time she was six she'd forgotten Tormonto completely. I know this isn't strictly a "nature spirits" story, but it serves as another illustration of how the things we think we know turn out to be something else.
Elementals and nature spirits? Not just yes but my oh yes! Faerie? You bet. Life is what every locus in the matrix has in common.

Can our pets be also our animal guides?
I ask this after talking to my aunt about this thread. Appox 18 years ago she woke up to find what she thought was her pet yorkshire terrier sat on the bedroom carpet looking at her. In the dim light she could make out his pointed ears(although they looked milky white) and hair on its head. She reached out to stroke its? head and then remembered that he was on the landing and not in the room. She freaked out and ran out of the room. A short time later with the lights on she found the dog in the hall and nothing was found in the bedroom when she reopened the door.
Around the age of 14 i stayed over in the same house and woke up at around 1:30am-2:00am. The dog would have been around 12 years old and was with me in the room. Laying on my back i stretched, yawnied etc and felt something odd at the end of the bed. At first I thought it was the dog and was concerned about disturbing him - so I looked at what was there. At first in the darkness i could see nothing but fuzzyness etc. Then as my eyes acclimatised to the darkness I began to see the radiator on the wall, the wallpaper and a small, dark shadow exactly where i felt the pressure on the bed. I wasnt feeling any fear which upon reflecting later left me puzzled about the nighttime visitor. The shadow seemed to get closer or become more clearer and it revealed its pointed ears and messy hair. It had two small circular blackish eyes, small nose and mouth. It wasnt on the bed but leaning against it with its hands which where hidden in the duvet. I stared at it and it did the same back, after which it began to fade or rather the darkness took its place. I turned on to my side thinking it was the dog only to find him alseep at my side.
Looking back on this, could it have been an animal guide or something else? It did look similar to the pet but its ears seemed different in colour. Anyone got any ideas?

I have found this, please read it and tell us all what ou think.
The fairies didn’t leave, of course. What happened was that people stopped being able to see them; and to see them you have to be able to see without looking. The technique I practised is similar to that required to see the hidden holographic images in Magic Eye pictures. It involves detaching the vision from the object by focusing beyond it and allowing the mind to rest. On a pitch black, moonless night, the aim is not to frantically look for the path ahead but to defocus the eyes and wait for the vague shapes of things to emerge. Rest long and patiently enough and the rocks, trees and hedges will slowly reveal themselves and a slow but safe progress can be made home. This surely goes some way to explaining the disappearance of the elves in the modern age. The world is filled with noise, artificial light and activity which stimulate the senses rather than allowing them to rest – the very opposite of the state required for such seeing. Stumbling upon nature spirits by accident is a common occurrence in folklore, especially during journeys home at the end of the day, and the person often feels that he or she has intruded upon the scene. Opportunities for such encounters simply do not exist as they once did. After months of practice of what I thought was simple meditation, and with no clear aim, the first encounter happened. It was a mild summer evening in the garden of a house where a stream flowed from a forested hillside. Suddenly there was a soft, silvery light and a procession of little figures led by a faun walked up the bank from the stream. The faun was small – about 3ft (90cm) tall – and seemed pleased with himself. I saw short legs strutting with pride and heard tiny hooves clip-clopping on the paving stones. He had horns too, about 6in (15cm) long, and a wrinkled face. He could have come straight out of a book of fairy tales or myths. The little faun brushed past me and I panicked and ran back to the house where I was hugely relieved to find the television on and the news reporting a meeting of European Union heads of state. This is reality, I remember deciding, while only barely able to suppress my excitement. What if? What if? There was one way to settle the matter – ask my partner, Peter, if he could see them too. And he did, and he seemed equally shocked as he described a little creature that was definitely male and had horns, shaggy legs and hooves. It had been fussing about down by the stream and appeared quite agitated, Peter said, as if some kind of male rivalry issue had been involved. There had been other little beings there too, but they weren’t clear enough to see properly. This was just the beginning, and more encounters followed, which in our head-spinning excitement we did everything to encourage. We left oats and milk out for them because this was supposed to be traditional in the West Highlands; Peter played his bagpipes for them while I banged away at a hand held drum or bodhran; and we built a little shrine beside the stream in honour of them. The aim was to build many more at strategic places all over the island, but we only managed three more. A little elf boy soon turned up and started coming into the house. I remember standing in the sitting room while a small figure dressed in mottled greens and browns looked up at me with an expression of sinister mirth. If he had been a child, his height would have put him at around six years old, but he bore no resemblance to any child I have ever met. His face, which was unusually long and well defined, seemed the face of one who had lived for a thousand years. The first indication that we were meddling in matters beyond our experience and knowledge came when I followed a second procession of nature spirits along the stream. These were very tall and slender and seemed to move without moving. They were dressed in wildly striped clothes of browns and greens, which was why I called them ‘stripies’, and had lots of dull greyish hair. Also in the procession were a number of chattering and dancing imps in bright green who pulled me along while offering me clothes like the stripies’ which I wouldn’t put on, although I’m not sure why. We were soon inside a hall which looked as if it had been hewn out of rock. There was a long table where preparations for a meal had been made. Again the imps tried to make me change my clothes but I refused. The stripies stood very still, as if in anticipation. Perhaps they were waiting to see if I would sit at their table, which I couldn’t bring myself to do. Then I heard the words: “You are the first person to come this way for 200 years. Come and be with us.” At that I turned away and found myself back at the stream. My impression was that there was nothing in the stripies to ‘connect with’, that there was something ‘absent’ about them and an emptiness in their languorous, dreamy air. My impulse was not to linger in their presence or at their table. I might forget too much, too quickly. Traditional folklore makes it clear that it is dangerous to meddle with the faerie folk. People who stray inadvertently into Faery land rarely return unscathed, if they return at all. The grandmothers must have known more than they realised when they whispered that the oddball of the neighbourhood was ‘away with the fairies’. Perhaps he or she had wandered too far into the hillside one day and never properly returned.
Peter then reported that he too had been asked to go and be with them, and this prompted a serious discussion as to whether we had been rash in encouraging the encounters and ought to pull back. This we tried to do, although it took some effort. We dismantled the shrines and avoided going near the stream, but every so often came the desire to walk in the forest in the hope of catching just one more glimpse
.
On one such walk I heard a strange singing and found out later that there were others who had heard singing in the forest. I also saw the ‘fairy lights’ reported by some of the older people on the island, which appeared as balls of light and hovered on the air before shooting off at great speed to disappear among the distant trees. They were small, about 4 or 6 in (10-15cm) in diameter, and very bright. They made no sound but sometimes made little dances in the air before flying away. When early autumn came I caught sight of another group, which I called the ‘stiks’ because they looked like trees that have been stripped of their leaves and left stark and bare. They weren’t friendly at all and I remember that several of them came and stood around me, willing me to leave. I didn’t linger, not after they said: “Why are you here? This is no place for you.” And when the late autumn came another group appeared which I dubbed the ‘misties’. A visitor to a late autumn forest might find him or herself in a place where the mist seems colder and denser than before, where it barely drifts on the air and where the way forward might be obscured for a while. That is where the misties will be, and their presence might induce a mild rush of fear and stumbling. But to me they gave the impression of being neither friendly nor hostile, their effect being only to confuse temporarily. Since then I have caught only occasional glimpses of the nature spirits, among the potted plants on a friend’s balcony overlooking a busy London street, or in a city park. Wherever nature is, so are they, our unacknowledged fellow citizens. And yet in the modern age they have all but disappeared from view, their invisibility a consequence of both the prevailing materialist and scientific worldview and the bad press they have received. Yet they go about their business as ever. Considering my desire to end the encounters, and the fact that we dismantled the shrines, it may seem a little odd to be proposing a set-aside policy for elves. (see panel above). But the idea is to challenge the situation in which the natural world is either ruthlessly exploited or else managed beyond recognition. ‘Set Aside for Elves’ would mean leaving nature, and the nature spirits, alone. The irony is that forestry plantations are man-made and yet because they are untouched after planting, nature is able to create within them something that is almost beyond the imagination, and in no longer than the span of a generation.Nature has no obligation to us, but we have an obligation to nature. We are obliged to consider the consequences of our actions, nature isn’t. We need forests but forests don’t need us. Fish need clean rivers and rivers need fish. We need clean rivers but rivers don’t need us. The best offering we could make to the natural world would be to allow nature to take its course.

What a fun thread.
So, I'll jump right in. We too have faries. Since I am an organic gardener, they like to congregate in our yard, as opposed to the other yards. We have an old tree stump out back that my daughter and I put honey, milk and chocolate on for the fairies. Rachel (my daughter) can see the fairies, but she cannot yet hear them. We have many fairies in the house during the winter. Rachel has a fairy table in her bedroom with little beds, etc. for her "little ladies."
Rachel is a very spiritual crystal child. She has been known to hatch dragons in her bedroom. (I always tell them no fire please). Life is very interesting with her around.
One evening after dinner, my husband, son and I were still sitting at the table, when we heard Rachel talking to someone. When we asked her who she was talking to she said, "A little girl, she's three years old and her name is Theresa. She told me she got very sick. Theresa followed Rachel into the bathroom and wanted to play with the bottles and things. Rachel told her that should could't tough the bottles, so Theresa told her that she was going to go find her mommy. Rachel then told me that Theresa walked through the wall and left the house. (Our house is about 95 years old)." We haven't seen Theresa since, so we hope she found her way back to her Mom.

I'm sure there are fairies where I am, but I can't see them. It's just that many times I look quickly at something and it looks like something else ... like an old stump out back that if I look quickly I would swear there was an animal sitting there. Maybe I'll go out at night and see if I can see some fairies!
There is a small town in the middle of North Carolina, not a town anyone knows. It's an old town that hasn't gotten all modernized and grown out of control like a lot of places. My cousin lives there. In visiting her this summer, we walked around some residential neighborhoods which have old and new houses, both. What struck me about this town is that on every lot with a house, a patch of old trees and wild natural land has been left and not "cleaned up." Raccoons, possums, deer, foxes, squirrels, rabbits, birds visit the back yards right in the middle of town. It's a beautiful town, got a great spirit to it. And now I'm thinking there are probably lots of fairies there!

I've had a few experiences with elementals... some good and some kind of scary.. I had this 'thing' that was in my basement... I only saw it once but felt its presence watching me many times.. I had to do a pure light visualization and sea salt to get rid of it. This is what it looked like : about the size of a medium size dog. Looked more like the shape of a cat tho. It appeared to be made out of pitch black shadow and I couldn't make out any features. It was laying on a furnace pipe watching me fold laundry... creepy as hell..
The good experiences were all outside in the woods behind my house while meditating.. gifted with beautiful white feathers..

Open Eyes raises a question. If anybody has any ideas, I'd be curious to hear them, because I have similar experiences with what seem to be very fleeting small dark shapes. My mind immediately tries to think what they look like, and they are sort of as she describes, dark, medium sized dog or cat-like, some smaller. Mine are usually low to the ground. I don't think I've ever seen them up high, and they don't really watch me. It's more like just a fleeting impression of a dark-colored thing. I don't get any emotional tone at all from them and they don't scare me. Any ideas?

I have always loved the woodland for there is always a hidden sense of magic. This adds to the beauty of it all. We must hav all come to a point along a dirt track deep within the forest and just stopped and sensed something is there. I also find it so special to sit by a stream and take in the atmosphere or find a clearing deep and hidden surrounded by trees. I always sense something there, something present, something hidden.
The shadowy dog like entity i saw eminated no melevolence, it just watched me and then faded away. The one my aunt saw also seemed of a positive nature - so what where they? They have never returned into our lifes.
Do ghosts, fairies etc utilise the same vibrational frequency/plane to appear sold in our world? There was a british dowser who used the pendulum - Tom Lethbridge - who visited haunted sites - not just houses. He noticed that there was running water in some form either under or on ground where ever one felt uneasy or saw something odd. Later in his life he came to the conclusion that water can store memories and emotion and trigger these events when someone walks near or over it. He used a system of measuring the length of string used with his pendulum and tested different objects for a response. In places that held a feeling of dread, fear, anger etc -his pendulum would only respond at 40 inches. He also tried this method on him self after having a hard day and used the pendulum over objects he had used - i.e. a pen. He only got a swinging movement at around 40inches. The following days showed that the length needed reducing - like the negative attachment was fading. This guy had a very interesting life, had a witch as a neighbour and also discovered what could be other realms or dimensions that responded to his pendulum. He wrote many books on all this and i may try and find some to buy one day.
Have fun.

When I was six years old, I was in bed for months with rheumatic fever. Every afternoon when I was supposed to be napping, these tiny elves or "brownies" as they called themselves, only 5 or 6 inches high, would appear in my room on top of the curtain rods over the windows, and sing, play music and dance for me.
After I grew up, I found rings of mushrooms under very old, large trees where the fairies danced at night under the full moon. I could also see them in gardens and fields of wild flowers, but soon they only appeared to me as small lights floating among the plants and blossoms.
Since living in Idaho, I ask the nature spirits for certain plants or trees that I want, and they bring them to me..... they just start growing in my yard, or across the street on the canal banks, or a neighbor shows up and wants to trade them for some of my plants.
I'm a great-grandmother of 6 now, but I can still see the nature spirits if I look in a certain way.... using my peripheral vision and feeling love in my heart.

Yesterday at work we where clearing out the building - we are relocating. There where hundreds of photographs showing team activities etc. I came across one showing a youth worker, with group in a cave or cavern. They where all stood in some water and waving at the camera. The photo also contained at least 8 small blobs or "globes". Some of these had a pattern or image structure to them. This is the first time i have had in my hands a pic with globes in it. Sadly, it has been thrown out with other old stuff - doh

Would you happen to know if the photo was taken with a digital or a film camera? Orbs in photos are nearly always - but not always - captured with digitals. Film and digital cameras each seem to have their own fringe around the visible spectrum that they can access under the right conditions.

Hey macros, the mods said it was a mistake (growing pains, as one mod emailed me), and we're obviously back up, so thanks to them for straightening it out.
Question: I have a small "problem" with my neighbor across the road. I'm out in the country, and the guy across the road (about 300 yards away) has put up a spotlight to light his property. This light is so powerful that it completely lights my whole property as well! I've talked with him but he won't change it, and he doesn't HAVE to under county regulations. He's gone way beyond lighting his property to lighting mine, which I don't want.
This light is, to my eye, a very vile green. I grew up in the country and like it that night is dark, but he's lighting up the whole neighborhood like this was a city. It's disgusting, really. I have to stand in the shadow of my own house to even look at the stars.
Do you think this is having any effect on the nature spirits around here?

Thanks DooDah for sorting out the little gremlin in the works. I used to take my dog for walks up to the vale that is nearby. Up there there is no street lights, no houses etc, in fact it is dark and gloomy (at night)but when you look up at the stars they look 3D! The vale hides a deep quarry and to me is a magical place. It is full of cliffs, woodland, farm animals and streams.
I suggest you plant a crystal in the ground where the green light doesnt hit. Before doing this, hold it in your hands and talk to it about the problem and a desire for the little ones to hear your message. Lets see what happens there. You may find that the neighbours lighting system plays up.
Thanks again DooDah, your a good friend.

This is a little story that involves the wise trees.
On our lot, we have about a dozen or so large, old trees. There is one behind our garage that I especially love, because it's canopy covers almost the entire top half of our yard in shade all summer long.
In mid-July I purchased two fig trees, which I will move to the house in winter. One of the fig trees started to shed it's leaves and look sickly. I went to the Old Tree in the backyard and put my third eye upon the bark and my arms around the trunk. After standing for about 30 seconds, in which all of my negative energy is sent back down to Mother Earth, to be transmuted, I told the tree about my sickly fig tree. I was "told" not to worry about it, that they would take care of the fig tree. Within days the fig tree did a complete turn around and now looks heathier than the other one.
This does not only work with figs. I went on vacation, and my Dad agreed to water our gardens. He forgot to water a little blueberry bush in pot. When we returned, the tree was brown and shrivled up. Once again I went to the Old Tree. I was told to water it, but not to put it into the ground for while, that it needed to get strong again. That same bush now has green leaves and is starting to regrow. I will probably transplant it in the spring.
Nature spirits are great.

I can understand all you are saying Skywatcher, on my back yard(the rear of the house) is a holly bush. It is in a gap between the garden and the concrete yard - about 2-3inches of space. It started as a little sprig that over the years as grown into a large tree like structure(its unique for they are very difficult to grow). Where it is should not have allowed it to grow but it has. The other year my sister came around to help with the garden and pruned the bush. She cut off its main branch which points up. She instantly felt she had done wrong and told me. I later said a prayer to the bush explaining the mistake. I would go to it and eminate a feeling of sorrow and a promise of hope. It still looked unhappy. I then had an idea one day to plant a quartz crystal in the grass near to it. I placed a will for the holly to become happy again and regrow its lost limb. I took the crystal one night with intention to bury it in the grass. I then heard a black bird churp and looked to a tree that as grown behind the shed. The more I looked at it the more I FELT it knew why I was there. I then felt the need to bury the crystal near the tree instead. I did this and went back to the holly bush and said a prayer of healing and hope. 4 weeks later the holly bush sprigged a new branch at its most highest point. Today, it looks like nothing ever happened to the bush. The tree was also a freak growth and I love watching it dance in the wind and feel a tremendous amount of love when i see the birds that nest there. I feel the birds give it company and the tree gives them a home - perfection.

Do any of you think that planting a crystal near my Redbud saplings will keep the deer from eating them? Deer eat EVERYTHING here! I do love the deer, too, and have talked to them, asking them to leave my Redbuds alone, but they haven't listened. Or maybe I haven't said it right. Any thoughts on this?

Maybe you have to listen to the deer, they may need those saplings. Do they react to light? Some knid of foil, mirror decoration near to the problem may deter - I`m not too sure on this one. I have just had an idea on some form of predetor shape buried nearby -perhaps some stones forming the shape of the deers worst nightmare?

Hello Avalon
This place is so wonderfull and blessed. Trough all individual experiences Motherhearth is guiding us towards a new "us". I made a hypnotic trip assisted by an older friend in what I think was my latest life on this material plane. To make it short, I wrote a book out of esoteric research wich was never published and burned with my house during a war after my death. Looked like the mid 19's century in Central Europe. Last year I went out with a girl (called Alpha for instance) who claime to have lived before this life for at least 600 of our years on a certain plane (?) called Azkham or Azkam. As I figure it out, this name is actually of the territory of the "Council of Azkham". I met another member of that council, he's an ex-boyfriend of Alpha (Beta). He ounce showed me a handwritten text he asked my opinion of. I critisized the text as it was a succint description of a systematic way of determine by certains means the aura of a new-born and therefore predict how the individual is to devellop. It looked like a (I interupt here because the squirl in the garden is crying) very nasty eugenistic nazi-like way of thinking. Anyway Beta told me after that he found it in a dimensional library in Azkham (or elsewhere) and was said to deliver this message to me. Now back to the hypnotic trip. After my death I 've been informed that my research didn't please the powers that be and that I was going to live another life to renew my attempt of good result. So here I am. Anyone got a clue about Azkham? Funny thing is that if Alpha new I was writing this, she would certainly go mad. Be carefull friends.

I don't know. Redbuds grow wild all around here. In the spring it's like a fairyland of beautiful red-purple trees all through the woods, thousands of them. They have heart-shaped leaves. These little guys just happen to have seeded themselves into my yard and I have carefully guarded them but they're still little. There are plenty of seedlings all through the woods if the deer need this kind of tree. They just can't have these particular ones! I could put them in chickenwire cages until they're bigger, I guess. That would work, although I don't like the idea of putting plants in cages!
These redbuds are in a shady spot, so mirrors won't make much difference during the day. And the deer come in and browse at night, too. Maybe I can line the ground with foil on the offchance they won't like walking on it. Fox urine would probably work, but I'd have to catch a fox first! :original:

I managed to dig out the old photograph showing some orbs.
Very interesting. Note that it's a flash photo; I've only seen one or two photos of orbs that we not flash photos. The standard explanation of orbs is that they are camera artifacts caused by reflections of the flash on dust motes or water droplets. I would concur with that except for the fact that it doesn't explain why they show up mostly in photos of situations that are emotionally charged in some way. I'm still undecided what they are, but I am very open to the possibility that they represent manifestations of living energy.
Thanks for sharing those!

I agree with you and still am not sure. But there where other pics along this same theme where the young learners and Youth worker spalshed around at same location. They didnt show any orb shapes which made me believe this one pic was unique. I even theorised that they where moisture in the air but if so why didnt they repeat in other pics within this cavern?
I feel quite pleased in finding that pic because for years i have tried to capture some anomaly in my own pics associated with work etc without luck. I feel there is a coincedence in joining this forum and then getting little bits and bobs that i can share with others. If i wasnt part of this thread then i would have not bothered with the pic! Is something helping me out here?
PS: I have one other copy of this where the flash on my cam phone left its mark, wasnt happy with that one but when you zoom in it shows more detail.
Thanks for the reply Whitecrow

It would be interesting to know if orbs have been caught on film in such places as say - the pyramids. Also, has anyone ever been able to communicate with these beings? It is clear that this all points to something real and intelligent. These orbs seem to grant you permission to capture them on film. It has been accounted that asking them to be present can bring results - but not always. This points to a method or plan on their part that we humans cannot understand - yet. I believe that they represent the departed and also the new awaiting a birth. Are we all orbs using a human body?
I am going to do a meditation based around these questions soon and hope to recieve some clarity.

I have been experimenting with some free software called Chaoscope.
My first few attempts in creating fractal style images involved tweaking slide bars and colour settings etc. Below is one of the pics i generated and i need a second opinion on this. It appears to show a grey type being wearing a gown/robe? This pic is one of a series in my pic album called Chaoscope.

Sadly, the images in the album mentioned above are poorly reproduced and i dont know if there is a way to improve them. They are AMAZING and the full hi res images show colour shadows of people wearing various clothing. There are also alien looking figures too. The best one in my album (for now, that didnt lose too much detail)is the wizard. The rest look poor.

FAIRIES.......
04 In Irish folklore, Angus Mac Og was one of the ‘Tuatha de Danaan’ or fairy race, his home said to be the 6,000 year old neolithic mound at New Grange in Meath (Bruigh na Boinee). He was called Mac Og (‘Young Son’) and given power over time and a magic cloak of invisibility.
06 Fairies: the word derives from ‘Fays’ meaning the Fatae or Fates and are equivalent to the Irish Sidhe dwellers, bestowing gifts of prophecy and music and originate from the angels of the Fall. Fir Chlis/Leprachaun.
07 Mab: QU of Faery and may be associated with Maeve or the Welsh ‘mab’ for baby, since she is called the ‘fairies midwife’.
08 Tylwyth Teg (Welsh): The Fair Family (euphemistic name for the Fairies).
09 Irish: Leprechaun (Cluricaune): the fairie’s shoemaker.
10 A diminutive supernatural being of human shape, with magical powers.
11 Banshee (Irish Folklore): a woman of the Fairies.
12 The butterfly is the symbol associated with the Faery People (Celt) and the Ivy month (see ‘Astrology’).

ANGEL.......
A backer of a play, campaign, actor etc. A messenger - the Vaunt Courier. Hark the Herald! Their depiction in religious painting far outweighs their recorded presence in either Old and NT stories . Even clerics concede that beauty is a surer magnet to the impoverished eye than textual accuracy. Belief in angels provides an acceptable alternative to either theological commitment or corn circles and aliens in UFOs, whose innocence and messenger role mirror and mimmick that of angels. However, extra-terrestrials of the angelic kind score over the UFO variety both historically and aesthetically. Since the time of Botticelli angels and music have been inseparable. St. Cecilia is the patron saint of music. The truth is that humans need angels and always have. These winged go-betweens have their origin much earlier than Christian art. Winged figures have been found in pottery in Ur, and in an Egyptian tomb a winged Isis appears. Poetically, ‘the Sons of God.’ Sometimes they appear as protectors and on occasion in human form. The phrase ‘Angel of the Lord’ means a direct visitation of God to a human being (divine communication). Angels of the churches (may be human beings - BSs of the churches etc). Guardian angels. Apostle: literally, ‘like an angel, a messenger’, ‘the deliverer of a message’, ‘an ambassador’, ‘a delegate’, ‘one commissioned.’ Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominions, Virtues, Powers, Principalities, Archangels and angels (Ephesians 1:21 and Colossians 1:16). The seven holy angels: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Chamuel, Jophiel and Zadkiel. 69% of Americans believe in angels. Many claim to have seen one! A glossy magazine on the subject of angels sells 200,000 copies per month.
Plato said “God does not deal directly with men; it is by means of winged spirits that all communication of God with man is carried out”. The Hebrew word for angel is ‘malak’ which means ‘go-between’. In the Bible, Jacob had a dream while sleeping near the village of Beth El. He saw a ladder or stairway extending up to heaven with angels ceaselessly walking up and down it. These angels carry news of the world back to the heavenly abodes. Some angels are indistinguishable from ordinary wo/men. Hence the expression ‘entertaining angels unawares’ (‘an elderly angel traveling incognito’). In AD 478 a Syrian monk began to categorize and describe the various types of angels. Dionysis the Aeropagite split them up into nine orders in his book ‘Die Hierarchia Celesti’. The seraphim, cherubim and thrones do not have contact with our world at all. Angels and archangels have dealings with man. The Bible and Apocrypha mention seven angels: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Anael, Camael, Sachiel and Cassiel. All have the suffix ‘el’ attached to their names.
Gabriel appeared to the shepherds outside Bethlehem and to the wise men (see ‘Magi’). Angels are said to number millions. Guardian angels function as protectors ie, chapter 10 and 12 of Daniel mentions the archangel Michael ‘the great prince who has charge of your people’ (the angel of the Jewish people). The Koran says that we each have four angels. Arthur Machen was the author of the ‘Angels of Mons’. Matthew 18:10: “See you don’t despise any of these little ones. Their angels in heaven, I tell you, are always in the presence of my Father in heaven”. Angel Princes: guardian angels for nations ie, Angel Princes of Persia who meet in a heavenly princely court (council of God). They have a mediatory role between earthly empires and the kingdom of God. God acts and appears through these angel princes through whom the final victory of the kingdom of God will be announced. Cherub/Cherubim: bearers of the divine throne and protectors of the Ark of the Covenant having many wings and covered with eyes (symbol of the omnipresence and omniscience of the higher spiritual realms). Frequently shown as Tetramorphs having four or six wings (its attribute being the wheel).
The Aztecs had angels, and so do American Indians, Hindus and of course Muslims, who share Christianity’s top ranking angels. The Greeks were particularly keen on their messengers from the gods. Hermes was not the only one, and Nike, the ‘Winged Victory’, is the classical antecedent for all those exultant Renaissance angels that continue to define our image of them now.
Winged angels are largely a New Testament phenomenon. Old Testament (Judaic) angels tended to appear as ordinary mortals, without haloes or wings. The most important source of angelology is not the Bible at all but extra-Biblicial Jewish, Christian and Gnostic texts written between 200 BC and 200 AD, which present a cosmos teeming with angelic activity. They are the guardian of sacred things.
Literary works inspired by angles include Dante (Catholic) and Milton (Protestant). Stories of the miraculous intervention of angels or strangers offering life-saving help and vanishing are as nebelous as UFO reports. Angels traditionally act as divine messengers and represent a higher form of consciousness emenating outside the human mind. The angel Gabriel (Strong One of God) acted as enunciator to Mary. The Kabbalah was received through angelic revelation. Koran: Gabriel, the angel of revelation, who writes down the divine decrees. Michael, the champion, who fights the battle of faith. Azrael, the angel of death and Israfel, who is commissioned to sound the trumpet of resurrection.
Examples of these beings are: Uriel, Raphael, Michael and Gabriel mentioned above. Holy Guardian Angel (the Higher Self). Their function (role) is to carry out the will of God for individuals or nations. ‘Angel of Yahweh’. They are known as the ‘Heavenly Host’. They are also said to be the guardians of individuals and churches. They are created beings. Maimonides equated them with Aristotle’s incorporeal intelligences. In Islamic Africa, angels are said to be created by God from pure light. In Caithness seals were believed to be fallen angels. Abaddon (Bible): Angel of the Abyss, Apollyon and meaning death, destruction or the lowest stratum of sheol. The ‘Host of Heaven’: the angels. Japanese: ‘tenshi’. Hebrews 13:2, Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Abaddon: the angel of the bottomless pit (Revelation 9:11). Milton: ‘In all her gates Abaddon rues’ (Paradise Regained, IV, 624).
Gabriel (Muslim): chief of the four favored angels and the spirit of truth. Milton mentions him as chief of the angelic guards placed over paradise. In the Talmud he is mentioned as one of the angels who buried Moses. He is said to have explained to Daniel certain visions (Daniel 8:16-26) and to have appeared to Mary (Luke 1:26). Koran: took Mohammed to heaven on Al Borak and revealed to him his ‘prophetic love’. Israfel: angel of music. Israfel, Gabriel and Michael warned Abraham of Sodom’s destruction. Zacharias officiating one day in the Temple saw the archangel Gabriel standing to the right of the altar. The angel told him that he and Elizabeth would have a son, the new Elijah. Zacharias asked for a sign to substantiate this unlikely event and the angel, chiding him for this lack of faith, condemned him to be dumb until the child’s birth. The child was named John (the Baptist).
William Blake’s (1757-1827) pictures convey a moral purpose by the use of his own symbolic devices. In ‘The Good and Evil Angels’ (1793), he depicts a battle between two angels which symbolize the opposing qualities of dark and light, beauty and ugliness. He is now recognized as one of the giants of the Romantic period who lived in the world of the imagination and the spirit. He claimed he was visited by angels!
Ave Maria: the ‘Hail, Mary’, a prayer in the RC Church, based on the salutation of the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary and the words of Elizabeth to her. Luke 1:28, 42. The bead on a rosary. Any of the musical settings of the Ave Maria.

There are some beautiful places in you neck of the woods and would recommend anyone to visit Ireland at least once. Ive read in the past about Fairy trees and rocks located in various places that are respected and sacred. Hey Im Mark, this is my first time posting. But I've been reading alot of posts on this forum. I am really intrigued and have always been with mysteries, and anything out of the ordinary. But I've always asked my parents this and I also enjoy talking to "elders" or "wise". But my father told me in Mexico as a kid when his mother would make food or when he was eating. He doesn't have a name for them, but I showed him the Gremlins movie and he told me they looked sort of like them but not as mean or made up. More of a hairy human appereance. But they would steal his food and run out in the holes in his walls. And it happened alot as a kid. But my dad sad they no longer exists and I wouldn't believe him either. My mom has said also she has seen them as a child. Also ghosts and la llorona "crying woman". But my mom is very down to earth and she is the type to do earth healing. Old Mexican Indian style. I also ask my 3yr old nephew if he could fly and he said no. But when he was 2yrs old he told me yah he could. And when I would tell him to show me, he would be shy and just grin and run off.

We have got these probes from earth that took pics of jupiter etc that are beyond the asteroid belt. I was wonderng how they navigate through it?
Are they showing us images that they had before the so called probe took pics? Did they use a telescope back then to take the pics?
Why has there been no images of this asteroid field given to the public ober the net?

I would just like to tell you all about a wierd thing that happened last night. I awoke in the night and felt thirsty so i crept out of bed and went to the kitchen. I drank some water and noticed some brightness shining through the blinds in the kitchen. After pulling the cord to open the blinds i saw a large white star to the south west. It was just hanging there low in the sky and i got a scary feeling that it knew i was looking at it. I decided to get my phone and snap a pic. I got back and found it still there - great - but now it was changing colour along its speckled edges. I aimed my n95 towards it and took the pic at which my phone died. The phone had plenty of charge and this realisation scared me. Tonight i am staying up like some idiot to see if this "star" shall return to where it was last night The phones battery will now not charge which means i have to purchase a replacement I hope the phone still works when i fit it. I have had many phone problems(with old models) in the past where batteries have died and am now getting alittle suspicious. Has anyone here ever had Battery problems with phones?

The phone has gone in for repairs: new battery didnt solve the problem. Guy in the store asked how it happened and i thought - yeh, right, i`m really gunna tell you that.
Orbs: My niece went to a birthday party and there are lots of pics displaying many orbs around the children whilst having fun. It seems that just after i explained here that i had never seen any in relation to family photos - here they come.
