I admit to feeling a little paranoid, but I just saw an unusual Emergency Broadcast System test.
The screen image came up with what KGO-TV (In San Francisco) always runs, the screen that says "Weekly test of the Emergency Broadcast System". Underneath the lettering is the string of moving words they call the "crawl" in broadcasting.
Until tonight, all I had ever seen in the crawl was "This has been a test of the Emergency Broadcast System. If this had been a real emergency, you would have been notified of the radio and television stations in your area with emergency broadcast information." I have seen it so many times I have memorized it.
Tonight the crawl said (I was extremely lucky to be watching it just as it came on): This is a test of the Emergency Broadcasting System, from 1:08 AM September 18, 2008 to 1:29 AM.
That was it. I have no idea what was going on.
