Does anybody know how I could buy commodities that are not precious metals? I already have some gold and silver, but would like to cover other areas as well.

Would you like to buy them for your own use or as an investment vehicle?

I just thought of somthing else too, Maybe seeds of certain crops.
So one can take these and start afresh anywhere, and maybe traded with too

Here are the tickers of some exchange-traded commodity trusts.
Tickers:
ung - Natural Gas
dbb - base metals copper/zinc/aluminum
dbe - energy(oil/gasoline/heating oil/natural gas)
dbc - general commodities
dba - agricultural commodities
cow - (no joke) cattle, etc.
uso - oil
They trade just like stocks on the American Stock Exchange.

Buy a couple of cases (or more) of vodka, can be used for medicinal purposes, traded for other goods, etc... In the event that nothing happens, people can drink it at your funeral when you die of old age.
