THIS THREAD IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PEOPLE WITH KNOWLEDGE OF HAM AMATURE RADIO HELPING OTHERS TO LEARN.... OR IF YOU HAVE LINKS TO SHARE OR WILLING TO TEACH HOW TO DO IT WITH PEOPLE IN YOUR REGION.

I have absolutely no idea how to do this..and am a little overwhelmed by technology like this..been told that is is easy to learn...looking forward to some ABC instructions here...:thumb_yello:

Have to admit, I've let other priorities interfere with my obtaining a ham license - but here are a couple of useful links to get you started:

National (USA) Association for Amateur Radio (http://www.arrl.org/)

Now You're Talking! All You Need to Get Your First Amateur Radio License, Fifth Edition (Amazon.com) (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0872598810)

Apologies for the U.S. slant on these links - but if we're talking basics, the country of origin shouldn't much matter!

Hiya RZ and scottyd...cheers for both your postings...you both appear to be the 'informed' type on such matters..so could you please copy/paste ANYTHING you find whilst on the net back onto this site/thread??? I just feel this is very important info and that more people need to check out these links and spread the word aswell as learning themselves...
many thanks for contributing to this thread!

Hi,

I think this thread may be a duplication of:

http://www.projectavalon.net/forum/showthread.php?t=300 (amateur radio)

I posted there today ...

Cheers
