I was astounded at watching this and am already in talks to get a few hundred of these things made. Sure you can rub sticks, use a magnifier on sunny days etc. But this beats everything else and it is so simple. What an elegant design.

Makes it look so easy, will have to have a go at making one and testing it out myself - as well as making and keeping a supply of Char.
Would try and have a few different methods still available though i think, but this is definitely a goer for me.

One thing i found out when trying to get a quantity of plain extra fine steel wool for ignition with a spark lighter is that you cannot get it as readily now since they brought out steel wool soap pads, stainless steel scourers and the plastic type scourers...............

We used to be able to access plain steel wool in large rolls very cheaply, and now it is in small packets (which are quite dear), if you can find a store that still sells it.

I won't post it all here but here is what was found after a lttle searching...I trust RMN and here and BBSradio much more.

Project Camelot was a social science research project of the United States Army in 1964.[1] The goal of the project was to assess the causes of violent social rebellion and to identify the actions a government could take to prevent it's own overthrow. The proposal caused much controversy among social scientists, many of whom argued that such a study would end up using social scientific research to strengthen established government and to put down revolutionary movements in Latin America and other volatile places. Chile was to be the test case for the project, but the Norwegian sociologist Johan Galtung, who had been invited to be a contributor, worked hard to alert Chilean and US social scientists of the project's true purposes.

Disinfo, I don't know but I'll try out the censorship option right now by diggin though my Canuck dictionary and finding the word...hold on, its dark, one minute now...ah, here it is...#####.
It's in my dictionary as a slang word. 'Over there' whenever I typed this it would be ****. I said good bye to them as nicely as I could.

DISINFO.
ALL of it, except maybe St.Clair. Who stopped writing along time ago.

Well that certainly beats the firebow-drill. I would have never thought about that.
Thanks for the Thread :)
