Hi Ampgod,
I must confess that when I saw both candidates during their debate the other night I saw no spark from either of them. I immediately started to smell a rat, but I wasn't sure (as I'm still not) what it was.
I'm not a republican nor Democrat, I'm not even American so I don't have any political biasse, but I must confess that I agreed with Bill O'Reilly last night, who almost confirmed my thoughts from the night before. He was jumping around like a chocolate frog asking why neither candidate had any 'fire', even when it came to errors of the other candidate. It was if it was a 'done deal' agreed to beforehand that they would just recite their campaign speeches.
Was Barak Obama planted? I don't really know the answer to that, for me it would be a case of wait and see, I'm a long way away. I think it could be a good idea in trying to bring this out in the open, as the media is trying to do with other matters against Obama, to see if anybody bites.
Best regards,
Steve

The whole election IS a total farce, however, the thought of another Republican presidency is too frightening to contemplate, at least if a Democrat wins there will be some semblance of change if only psychogically for the people. My concern is that both Obama and McCain seem like Manchurian candidates.

Hi Ampgod,
I had chance to sleep a little and pondered about the lacklustre performance of the two presidential candidates. I came up with another possibility.
Neither of the two want to be elected!
Let's face it, they would be in the know about confidential governmental and economic information and they both know the **** has hit the fan and there's nothing that can be done except take it on the chin.
Who would want to become president entering in a bankrupt office? Not me.
Just tink of the world situation if either or oth of them sa they don't want to be president! This planet would suffer more than just a pole shift! So they can't say they don't want to be president, they can just be more bland and try and let the other guy win (lose!).
Best regards,
Steve

Interesting concept. I certainly wouldn't want that awful responsibility to the corporatocracy.
Maybe that's why Obama and Biden compliment McCain so much.
McCain doesn't reciprocate as much, but he knows that if he's elected, he'll be dead tout de suite leaving us w/ that looney hoser pitbull Palin. God help us!

Something to Ponder!
Barack Obama...Where Did The Money Come From
Subject: Please Read- Important Info on Barack Obama's background
This letter is from a friend of ours who we believe wrote this with great
concern. I think it is important to send this on so anyone that is open to
ideas and wants what is best for our country can have good information to
use when making up their mind regarding who to vote for. This is not a
political slant, but a REAL person doing research on an individual who will
be in charge of our country. Just read it and make your own decisions.
To All My Friends, this is long, but every important, please take the time
to read it.
This election has me very worried. So many things to consider. About a
year ago I would have voted for Obama. I have changed my mind three times since than. I watch all the news channels, jumping from one to another. I must say this drives my husband crazy. But, I feel if you view MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News, you might get some middle ground to work with. About six months ago, I started thinking 'where did the money come from for Obama'. I have four daughters, who went to College, and we were middle worked hard and there were lots of student loans.
I started looking into Obama's life.
Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California . He is very
open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was
wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply
himself to his studies. 'Barry' (that was the name he used all his life)
during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan .
During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a
'round the world' trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia , next
Hyderabad in India , three weeks in Karachi , Pakistan where he stayed with
his roommate's family, then off to Africa to visit his father's family. My
question - Where did he get the money for this trip? Nether I, nor any one
of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they where in
college.
When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York . It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack - not Barry.
Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia ? It's not cheap to say the
least! Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe. After
Columbia , he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000 a year. Why Chicago ?
Why not New York ? He was already living in New York .
By 'chance' he met Antoin 'Tony' Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria , and a real
estate developer in Chicago . Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery
this year. Rezko, was named 'Entrepreneur of the Decade' by the
Arab-American Business and Professional Association'. About two years
later, Obama entered Harvard Law School . Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School ? Where did he get the money for Law School ?
More student loans? After Law school, he went back to Chicago . Rezko
offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis,
Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what? They represented 'Rezar' which is
Rezko's firm. Rezko was one of Obama's first major financial contributors
when he ran for office in Chicago . In 2003, Rezko threw an early
fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with 'seed money' for his U.S. Senate race.
In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko's wife, Rita,
purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported
that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three
weeks before Obama's new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.
Now, we have Obama running for President. Valerie Jarrett, was Michele
Obama's boss. She is now Obama's chief advisor and he does not make any
major decisions without talking to her first. Where was Jarrett born? Ready
for this? Shiraz , Iran ! Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy?
On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley, advisor to Obama, was
'sacked' after the press found out he was having regular contacts with
'Hamas', which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran . This past week,
buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during
Obama's visit to Iraq , he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war
until after he is elected, and he will 'Take care of things'.
Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that where born in
Pakistan ? They are in charge of all those 'small' Internet campaign
contributions for Obama. Where is that money coming from? The poor and
middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East ?
And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times
posted a verbal slip that was made on 'This Week' with George
Stephanapoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, 'My Muslim
faith'. When questioned, 'he made a mistake'. Some mistake!
All of the above information I got on line. If you would like to check it -
Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily
Times - Obama visited Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times - September 7, 2008;The Times May 10, 2008.
Now the BIG question - If I found out all this information on my own, Why
haven't all of our 'intelligent' members of the press been reporting this? A
phrase that keeps ringing in my ear - 'Beware of the enemy from within'!!!

Has anyone heard of the federal lawsuit against the DNC and Barack Obama AKA Barry Soetoro to prove his citizenship. As of when I last checked which has been a few days they continue to try and dismiss the charges.
Barack Obama AKA Barry Soetoro has yet to produce long form Birth Certificate proving his US citizenship.
There's a bit of reading to get to the story, but at the time he was born to a US citizen the 1940 rules applied.

Believe what you want. Its a free country (less and less these days)
The two candidates are both men backed by special interests who want to be president. The US political system is pretty messed up. Not sure if it is salvageable. People are living in an illusion projected by images they are force fed by society. Time to wake up, preserve our natural resources and the earth itself. If we all decided to do this it would begin to change immediately.
Pondering conspiracy theories is falling into the trap of duality. There is no good and evil. There is only love and the lack of love. We live in a world of cause and effect. Every thought and deed effects the future. Think love and the effect is harmony.
The only candidate who sounded genuine to me (Ron Paul) isnt running anymore. Love your neighbor, cast of thoughts not rooted in love. Spread the positive energy and we can change the world.
Peace to you all.

What does the economic crisis have to do with Obama Planted?
I did not start the thread and please forgive me for responding to it.
I agree that we pretty much all agree politics is merely nothing more than 'many tics' getting together to suck up all our dough.
I, too am a Ron Paul supporter and thought if there was anyone here who was considering Obama, they might benefit from hearing this or passing it on to someone they know who is considering Obama. I have spent many months promoting Ron Paul and his ideals. campaignforliberty.com 'Bless Ron Paul' house.gov/paul

Such emails are a distraction from more pressing issues. If we're going to attack one candidate for his supposed connections, we need to attack the other candidate equally.
I just refuse to succumb to cynicism and that explains my belief and defense of Barack Obama. That and eight years of dealing with the worst administration in the history of this country.
Though to add to the original idea, I think it's possible that he may have been planted for a far different reason and that reason is to avert the destruction of this country and the world as a whole. He's no "messiah" but when you look at Obama's speeches and the kind of energy that his campaign has, don't you think that perhaps he's almost too good to be true at times? I'm not saying this is a bad thing but I genuinely like the guy and want to see him overcome any odds that might be standing in his way.
Time will tell.

There is more than one other candidate.
Voting Your Conscience for a Third Party Candidate Is Not a Wasted Vote.
By Chuck Baldwin
When asked why they will not vote for a third party candidate, many people will respond by saying something like, "He cannot win." Or, "I don't want to waste my vote." It is true: America has not elected a third party candidate since 1860. Does that automatically mean, however, that every vote cast for one of the two major party candidates is not a wasted vote? I don't think so.
In the first place, a wasted vote is a vote for someone you know does not represent your own beliefs and principles. A wasted vote is a vote for someone you know will not lead the country in the way it should go. A wasted vote is a vote for the "lesser of two evils." Or, in the case of John McCain and Barack Obama, what we have is a choice between the "evil of two lessers."
Albert Einstein is credited with saying that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result. For years now, Republicans and Democrats have been leading the country in the same basic direction: toward bigger and bigger government; more and more socialism, globalism, corporatism, and foreign interventionism; and the dismantling of constitutional liberties. Yet, voters continue to think that they are voting for "change" when they vote for a Republican or Democrat. This is truly insane!
Take a look at the recent $700 billion Wall Street bailout: both John McCain and Barack Obama endorsed and lobbied for it. Both McCain and Obama will continue to bail out these international banksters on the backs of the American taxpayers. Both McCain and Obama support giving illegal aliens amnesty and a path to citizenship. In the debate this past Tuesday night, both McCain and Obama expressed support for sending U.S. forces around the world for "peacekeeping" purposes. They also expressed support for sending combat forces against foreign countries even if those countries do not pose a threat to the United States . Neither Obama nor McCain will do anything to stem the tide of a burgeoning police state or a mushrooming New World Order. Both Obama and McCain support NAFTA and similar "free trade" deals. Neither candidate will do anything to rid America of the Federal Reserve, or work to eliminate the personal income tax, or disband the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Both Obama and McCain support the United Nations. So, pray tell, how is a vote for either McCain or Obama not a wasted vote?
But, back to the "he cannot win" argument: to vote for John McCain is to vote for a man who cannot win. Yes, I am saying it here and now: John McCain cannot win this election. The handwriting is on the wall. The Fat Lady is singing. It is all over. Finished. John McCain cannot win.
With only three weeks before the election, Barack Obama is pulling away. McCain has already pulled his campaign out of Michigan . In other key battleground states, McCain is slipping fast. He was ahead in Missouri ; now it is a toss-up or leaning to Obama. A couple of weeks ago, Ohio , Pennsylvania , and Florida were all leaning towards McCain, or at least toss-up states. Now, they are all leaning to Obama. Even the longtime GOP bellwether state of Indiana is moving toward Obama. In addition, new voter registrations are at an all-time high, and few of them are registering as Republicans. In fact, the Republican Party now claims only around 25% of the electorate, and Independents are increasingly leaning toward Obama.
Ladies and gentlemen, Barack Obama is headed for an electoral landslide victory over John McCain. John McCain can no more beat Barack Obama than Bob Dole could beat Bill Clinton.
I ask, therefore, Are not conservatives and Christians who vote for John McCain guilty of the same thing that they accuse people who vote for third party candidates of doing? Are they not voting for someone who cannot win? Indeed, they are. In fact, conservatives and Christians who vote for John McCain are not only voting for a man who cannot win, they are voting for a man who does not share their own beliefs and principles. If this is not insanity, nothing is!
So, why not (for once in your life, perhaps) cast a vote purely for principle! Vote for someone who is truly pro-life. Someone who would quickly secure our nation's borders, and end the invasion of our country by illegal aliens. Someone who would, on his first day in office, release Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean and fire U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton. Someone who would immediately, upon assuming office, begin leading the charge to dismantle the Federal Reserve, overturn the 16th Amendment, expunge the IRS, and return America to sound money principles. Someone who would get the US out of the UN. Someone who would stop spending billions and trillions of dollars for foreign aid. Someone who would prosecute the Wall Street bankers who defrauded the American people out of billions of dollars. Someone who would work to repeal NAFTA, CAFTA, GATT, the WTO, and stop the NAFTA superhighway. Someone who would say a resounding "No" to the New World Order. Someone who would stop using our brave men and women in uniform as global cops for the United Nations. Someone who would stop America 's global adventurism and interventionism. Someone who would steadfastly support and defend the right of the people to keep and bear arms.
"Who is this person?" you ask. Go here to find out. baldwin08.com
As John Quincy Adams said, "Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost."

Chuck Baldwin Endorsed By Ron Paul
Constitution Party’s Chuck Baldwin Set To Dent ‘Big Box’ Candidates
Grand Rapids, MI (September 22, 2008)
Former GOP presidential candidate, Texas Congressman Ron Paul announced today he is endorsing Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin. (www.campaignforliberty.com)
In a letter to supporters, Paul wrote, “I’m supporting Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate.”
Paul went on to say, “There is no real choice between the two major parties and their nominees, only the rhetoric varies. The amazingly long campaign is designed to make sure the real issues are ignored.”
Baldwin, a conservative commentator, columnist and pastor of a church in Pensacola, FL, campaigned for Ron Paul during the congressman’s run for president. After receiving Paul’s endorsement, Baldwin said, “I am humbled and deeply grateful to Dr. Paul for his support. There could not be higher praise. I am committed to carrying on the Ron Paul Revolution for a return to constitutionally limited government.
The www.constitutionparty.com, is poised to offer voters a viable alternative to the two parties now controlling our government.
Baldwin noted, “Ron Paul’s message resonated with people across the political spectrum. Likewise, our campaign embraces Americans of diverse political ideologies, spiritual paths and socio-economic groups - all who recognize the urgency of a return to the Constitution and the principles of personal liberty that document defines.”
Baldwin, appearing recently on CNN’s Lou Dobb’s Tonight program was told by Dobbs: (Baldwin’s view on immigration reform issues) was “a good reason to vote for you, I like that reason." (Click here for a transcript: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0809/10/ldt.01.html and HERE for a YouTube clip of the show.) see link at top of post
Baldwin appeared at a recent Washington DC press conference with Congressman Ron Paul. Paul spoke about the need to bypass the two major party candidates this November and instead vote for a candidate such as Chuck Baldwin. See YouTube clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-DyfFa0tZg)
Like Paul, Baldwin has taken a stand against unconstitutional foreign intervention, such as the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Both Baldwin and Paul have called for abolishing the IRS and the Federal Reserve, have spoken out against the recent financial “bailouts” and against unauthorized trade “agreements” such as NAFTA and GATT.
Chuck Baldwin supports Congressman Ron Paul’s ‘Sanctity of Life legislation’,(H.R. 2597) opposing abortion, has received an ‘A’ rating from Gun Owners of America: http://www.gunowners.org/ and an “excellent” grade from pro-secure borders group Numbers USA: http://www.numbersusa.org/ baldwin08.com

The way I see it, if Obama was totally the phony he is made out to be, why would he have the balls to keep the name BARAK OBAMA??? Why not just change it back to Barry Soreto or whatever??
Besides, so what he is Muslim?? Where does it say you have to be a Christian to be President??? If we are to believe what we hear, a great many presidents were/are Luciferian......
My concern is that both Obama and McCain seem like Manchurian candidates.

I agree with Ampgod.
I posted the above articles regarding Chuck Baldwin and Ron Paul as I feel they are both moral people. And to let people know there is more than two choices at this time.
For the future, perhaps a panel of moral people acting as president(s) would add more balance to decision making, since our current constitutional rights seem to be over-written every day. That panel might include exceptional people in their fields like economics, communications, industrial technology, foreign affairs, commerce, farming, ecology, spiritual, energy and so on.
Just wanted to add that. Thank you.

I think you're imaging things. Obama's detractors have brought up his race far more than he has. They've made false claims and have attempted to destroy his campaign while giving his opponents a pass (though this is starting to change).
In fact, let's look at things shall we?
Obama - Pastor Wright
McCain - Pastor Hagee
Palin- Pastor Kalnins
Obama- Ayers
McCain- Keating 5
Palin- Alaska Independence Party
All three candidates had or have been accused of having shady connections (Ayers is junk but Wright was an issue). Before you claim that Obama is bringing up race all the time, I urge you to look at media coverage of all three candidates. Rev.Wright and Ayers have gotten far more coverage than the wingnut pastors of Palin and McCain or the fact that Palin has associated with the AIP or even the Keating 5.
Who's making race an issue here? It's not Obama. Because he is black (bi-racial actually), he's getting more criticism than two white candidates.
I fail to see what discussing politics here will accomplish. I can clearly see that I'm not going to agree with anyone politically. I'd rather not worry about politics because in the bigger picture, this election isn't going to matter much anyway. They're all corrupt but I still chose Obama and that's final for me.

Oh lol now Ron Paul is a racist.
you need to stop and look at people for WHO THEY ARE and not what the color of their skin is. I have learned to do that a long time ago.
Stop throwing the word around and just let the race run on its own merits of who you are, not what color your skin is
Making out Dr.Paul to be some kind of savior is just as bad as making Obama out to be a savior. They are neither and I just don't like Dr.Paul and would never support him.

I agree the term Racist is overused or misused.
How many people here have cleaned out their OWN racist 'thinking'?
I was raised by two parents that had racist thinking. My Mother was really bad where my Father was actually 'Open Minded' for the times.
Still, they had their racist views. (It was called Prejudice Back Then BTW)
So with that *I* grew up thinking somewhat like my parents.
It took years to slowly start to change my thinking and even to this very day I catch myself 'thinking in those terms'.
Point is: Everyone has their Prejudices for something or someone.
The term Prejudice means to Pre-Judge someone/something before knowing any or all of the facts.
So how many here know ALL the facts?

End_Times,
I know you don't want to talk politics, but I cannot help myself.
Who's making race an issue here? It's not Obama. Because he is black (bi-racial actually), he's getting more criticism than two white candidates.
You cannot seriously mean this. First of all, criticism is not equal to racism. Secondly, Barrack seems to bring up his race more than any opposition.
Do you remeber when he told a crowd at one of his rallies:
"Nobody thinks that Bush and McCain have a real answer to the challenges we face. What they're going to try to do is make you scared of me. You know: 'He's not patriotic enough. He's got a funny name. You know, he doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."
It was somewhat ambiguous as to wether or not he was refering to his race, until his chief campaign strategist David Axelrod said:
"He's not from central casting," .... "when it comes to candidates for president of the United States. He's new to Washington. Yes, he's African American."
Barrack will use his race card when it suits him, no question.
The McCain Camp is avoiding it all costs, not because it is ethical per se, but because, in truth, it is no longer palatable to the masses.
I'm not saying that as a culture we are past racism. Far from it. Nowadays though racism is an undercurrent that is not politicaly correct and not quite as loud as it was in the past. If McCain's camp plays the race card, rest assured it will not be directly linkable to them.
Barrack does have a sort of advantage here, which seems to be that, because he is part african american, he can bring up the issue claiming it to be at least part of the reason that they want to "make you scared of me[Obama]"
I think you are seeing the "writing on the wall" here. There is no significant difference between these candidates.
They're all corrupt but I still chose Obama and that's final for me.

One last question End_Times. (Columbo style:lol3:)
Are you lumping Jeremiah Wright in w/ Hagee and Kalnins (p.s. Thomas Muthee is the real throwback http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ccmRuCpFjY)? Because, imo at least, Wright was speaking the truth in many cases.

Hi peaceandlove,
I read your post with interest. To be honest with you I don't know where the money came from. It would be better to as Obama!
You need to understand that world of politics is very dirty. Once that is understood you don't even need to know where the money came from, you would already know that some favour was being done.
This sort of thing is not exclusive to Barak Obama. No politician is a snow white virgin. We could discuss the values of Bush and the Laden family, or the Clinton and Whitewater, or Nixon and......
The list goes on.
I think what the American public needs to do, is to look at the credible proposals made by each candidate and see where it would affect the public most.
What goes on 'behind the scenes' believe you me is common place, especially with the US because of the volume of money floating around over there. When the prize is bigger, you have to invest bigger. 1.4 million is loose change to these guys, I mean why does ANY presidential campaign cost soooo much money?
You should find out the salary of the president and calculate this for his four year term and then see how much he spent on his campaign.
I know of nobody who will spend 10 bucks to earn 5.
Best regards,
Steve

Personally I think if enough people had backed Dennis Kucinich (voted against the Patriot Act, against FISA, against the war, tried to Impeach Bush etc....) instead of playing into the media-made "unelectable" mantra, then we might actually be seeing some real hope for change.
In the meantime I can only hope that Obama does win and that the chip in his brain doesn't go off before 2012:lightsabre:

Again, I can't understand what you're trying to accomplish by spreading disinformation about a Presidential candidate. You're not the first to do so and apparently not the last.
And it's funny how people take Sean Hannity seriously. He has connections to Neo-Nazis. The man has his head so far up his *** as well.

by Steve A: I think what the American public needs to do, is to look at the credible proposals made by each candidate and see where it would affect the public most.
I agree, but the question is what is 'credible'? Credible proposals tend to be broken. If only the American Public was given the choice and all candidates were yielded the same amount of time on mainstream broadcasts and in mainstream media, we could make a decision about credibility. If only certain candidates weren't smeared and made fun of in order to misdirect the American Public we might have a fair election.
I have not participated in politics for many years until one day I heard about a candidate that wanted to help us take back our Country and our Constitution, Ron Paul, and then my ears perked up.
Bless all the politicians; may we one day truly be 'The Land of The Free and The Home of The Brave'.

Thank you for your sincerity. I have written two papers on prejudice, one in High School and one in College, as my parents were also somewhat racist, but in a way as to protect me from the barbs of others or so I thought.
"Children learn in their homes about animosity toward another group."
I always like to share these poignant lyrics from South Pacific (1949) by Rogers and Hammerstein that "summarize this learning concept".
'You've Got To Be Carefully Taught'
You've got to be taught to hate and fear
You've got to be taught from year to year
It's got to be drummed in your dear little ear
You've got to be carefully taught
You've got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes are oddly made
And people whose skin is a different shade
You've got to be carefully taught
You've got to be taught before it's too late
Before you are 6 or 7 or 8
To hate all the people your relatives hate
You've got to be carefully taught

The term "race card" is a term invented by right-wing politicians and they pull out this handy little card whenever they think race has been invoked in a political manner.
McCain doesn't have to use racism. His supporters have already done it for him. Did you read about a rally in Clearwater, FL where McCain/Palin supporters were openly calling for Obama's death? What about the rally where an older white male brought a toy monkey with an Obama shirt and when the camera panned to him, he pawned it off on a kid?
Like it or not, racism still exists in this country and I just don't understand why Obama is the one accused of using race.

The ball is already set in motion, Bildeberg group and other economic conglamerates if you will choose their candidate. What's plan for the USA with this make believe economic crisis is creatting a currency common to this hemisphere, the Amero. Barrack is already on board, so is McCain. There will be initial resistance expected because most change taken place will be very radical. The world of politics especially at the highest levels is a group of exclusivity. You aready know the groups anyone aspiring a high post in the goverment has to do to get a clean card. The Kenya connection for Obama
brings about and agenda which in a way makes him very astute. In the game of chess Barrack is a master chess player. McCain is on check or what I apropiately would term a stalemate.

The term "race card" is a term invented by right-wing politicians and they pull out this handy little card whenever they think race has been invoked in a political manner.
I was really hoping not to have to argue semantics w/ you but, oh well here goes.
Wether you want to call it a race card or a race issue, surely you would agree that race, as an issue, exists and either campaign can selectively use it to their benefit as they see fit.
Please try to get past this left/right wing thinking. It's circular logic anyway.
I'm not sure you actually read my original post, as right there, you have made my point.
Yes, I saw that rally and a more recent one where McCain was booed for saying Obama was a "decent man". He didn't say "good man" because that wouldn't play well nationaly for him, but he couldn't indulge the frenzied crowd either because that wouldn't play well either. The fact is that fear of "different" people (i.e; racism) is indeed prevalent in some sleepy backwaters, so tactics that are slightly more overtly racist, will play better. They "focus group" the sh*t out of the American public to find out our fears and desires and then craft rhetoric that they think wil resonte w/ said fears or desire.
Obama may well be a good man, and his original intentions for seeking the office of the president may have been noble. McCain too for that matter.
Frankly though, that is irrelevant because good men or not, niether would be where they are w/o some very powerful backers.
What does matter though, is that the hands up the backsides of these two candidates are connected to the same entity.
I'll quote Thunderbird as an example of how it might be very easy to co-opt a good man.
Whats interesting about this....
remember when his jet had to make an emergency landing a few months back?
pilot lost controls of the plane.
something about an emergency slide being deployed...
yeah well what they arent telling you is that someone got controls of the aircraft and used that to SCARE him into doing what he was told.
notice his demeanor changed right after that incident.
"hey do what we tell you or we will pull your card...see how easy it is?"
EDIT: Thunderbird was responding to a thread I wrote entitled "Has Barack Obama Already Been Comprimised?"
There's also a saying out there: "If you didn't vote, don't complain.
I didn't say I wasn't voting. I'll vote for nader/gonzales. I'm sure you think that is throwing my vote away, but nader imo is a man uncorruptable.
