On the Oz news tonight, they had talks with men in the know about the world going into a recession. Just thought I'd let you all know. Not that we need updating on anything here.

I thought i heard somewhere today that our Treasurer was in the USA for talks...............

Made me wonder why he was there, and how much influence the USA actually does have with us and our economy.

Yes i am aware it will be a worldwide recession, but the part that bothers me is our involvement in the USA economy, and to what extent - as we have and will have our own problems that we cannot be bailed out of.

Just my immediate thoughts..............

If you remember last years APEC conference, not only did John Howard meet with Bush and his cronies, but Rudd also met up with him. Some serious conversations were had.
My opinion, Bush would have told Rudd that this is whats going down, You follow my lead and do what you are told, if you become Prime Minister. As much as i'd like to think we stand alone, after watching the Zeitgeist Movie i am very sure we are in the hands of the "BIG" corporations and their decisions.

i think john howard was a bigger puppet than kevin rudd. but they will get rudd soon to i guess they will back him into a corner, he doesnt look tough enough to fight them off. i think wayne swann will be pushed around to submission too.
it's not only us involved in the us economy it's the whole world that is involved. from the moment you buy a shirt made in china or buy any import or export anything.
we could have made most of these imports we get, right here from home. the only things we should export is tourism and any extras that we cannot use before it expires. we come first just like any nation should itself come first.
i know trade is not the whole thing, but is a big piece of an even bigger puzzle.
