View Full Version : The Federation of light in 1984?
Hi guys,
Does anyone from the UK who used to watch 'Tomorrow's World' back in the 1980's remember watching a special episode which was out before the internet was formed where a guy was getting messages on his computer (bbc model b I think) from someone claiming that they were from the (1400's I cannot quite remember the year), but his words were in a old form of english.
Anyhow they got a team of investigators in and made sure that this room with the computer in it was completely isolated so that no fraudsters could come in and type these messages. And then they monitored the computer for any messages that appeared.
Messages did appear and they had to go to the library to check what period this language was from and it was proven that the language that was used was in fact dated back to that time.
A few messages appeared on the computer to which the guy replied wanting to get prove of this time traveling phenomenon.
the last message received was something to do with him being branded a 'Witch' and his last message said that he was going to be burned at the steak.
Nothing was heard from this guy since but there was also a message from the year 2014.
That is the first time I heard of 'the Galactic Federation of Light.'
I cannot remember word for word because this was from so long ago.
'We are the galactic federation of light, we come from the future. We come from the year 2014. The people of earth, some no longer have physical bodies. We are made of tacions. This allows us to travel through space and time.'
That is my vague recollection of the show. I do not know if the contents of the show were made up or not. I really hope that some other people can post here and confirm watching this too back on the bbc in the mid eighties.
I just posted this because it might be of interest to someone.

Yes I remember that programme. Until today, I had heard nothing more. Thanks for reminding me of an old mystery that was investigated and left without explanation. The details you gave as I recall them are correct but I do not recall any mention of the future or a federation of light, sorry.

Erm, what day was this broadcast on? wasn`t April 1st by any chance?. You obviously know that the Beeb loves an April fool.

nope, honest this was not April Fools, nor Tomorrow People :) Its as the OP said.
It wasn't the tomorrow people, that is like a sci-fi series isn't it?

It's interesting...the 'Tomorrow People' episode I watched the other day did mention 'federation' on a view screen as their contact, the tomorrow people are from the future and help in our time. I thought it was well made for the as old as it is. Yes I know it is not the unexplained series, but interesting anyway.

You might find this an interesting listen.
Have you ever heard of John Titor , the time traveler.
He supposedly came back in time to stop the y2k event from happening.
He was also looking for an ancient computer... the first IBM I think.
old computers and time travel....? well that's where the connection ends between these two stories.
