I noticed on a documentary "Above Top Secret - The Story of Area 51" which is on youtube at the moment, that one of the investigators, an aviation enthusiast remarked on the presence of a MiG-29 in the skies at Area 51. Later, I got a chance to watch "Contact Has Begun" with James Gilliland who commented on jets in pursuit of some UFOs as well. In one cut away of the jets there appeared to be two MiG-29's doing their thing. As far as I know these planes are not in the inventory of the USAF, but even more interesting is that the MiG-29 was designed using a hydro-mechanical flight control system which is in essence and design "hardened" against EMP (they were intended to be able to deliver nuclear arms).

Modern fighter aircraft use fly-by-wire flight control systems generally susceptible to EMP unless specifically hardened against it. An example of UFO interference would be like the two Iranian F-4 Phantoms that had been "disabled" in flight by a UFO in the 1970's.

What I am getting at is that whomever is flying the MiG's are using them possibly for the reason that they are relatively immune from electromagnetic fields and weapons that might be derived from such technology. Which suggests that the UFO craft aren't "ours" but someone else's, otherwise it would serve no purpose to use them at all since any aircraft would suffice (F-16, F-35, F-22).

If anyone has a copy of "Contact Has Begun" the two jets I am referring to appear at around 20:00 which are MiG-29's, that incidentally seem to have been fitted with some cleaner burning engines that the original Russian versions.

already more than 15 years ago was i told by a "russian", that all of their own fighter jets were "EMP" hardened (immune)..he talked about technical details which i absolutely didn`t understand and can`t remember...except that he also mentioned the mig29 and also said something about "lots of ceramic? circuits?!?:nono:" ?:wall:

The old Russian hardware is huge compared to Western counterparts, they had on record the largest fighter jet in service, of which the name escapes me :P. The ceramics (heat insulators?) were possibly for the valve technology they employed rather than solid state components, which they did not posses in abundance, valves are not affected by EMP... so I guess for reliability the ol' valves tubes are the go and not just for audiophiles!

It just struck me as strange that they'd (US) use MiG's but I guess as MiG is no longer state controlled (I assume) anyone can buy their aircraft...

I thought if anyone could verify this further then it would help enhance the validity of "real" UFOs and not supposedly back engineered or "stolen" craft, which don't seem to account for the phenomena in it's entirety. Also may squash some claims that all that stuff is black ops, circumstantial as it is.
