Well our Brothers and Sisters over at ATS couldn't help, so I think I'll post here...
I'll post the whole thread because I got an interesting answer...
I'd really appreciate it if someone could help.... Thread Follows

for a 50's contact novel/account can't remember title!!
I recently read an entire book online, a great (supposedly) non-fiction account written in the fifties about a "regular guy" who is contacted by Teh Alienz. I've spent ages trying to track it and can't...
Here's what I can remember.
-It was written in the 50's or 60's
-The guy had the uncanny feeling of being watched for a year.
-His intuition drew him to a place in the desert, where he met a weird guy who lived in a wig-wam
-The guy was called Don, I think.
-He took the guy on the ship one day, where he met the E.T's and their wives.
-The aliens grew meat, and liked Cowboy films
- He was told the earth was under quarantine
- He was instructed to write an account of what happened.
-He had a humourous encounter with some Hell's Angels
* * *
That should jog people's memory.
Question 2:
What do you think of the book? Fabrication/truth/disinfo?
I certainly thought it was a great yarn, and would like to read it again.
Thanks if you can help.

I don't know if I am remembering the same account, but I read something similar online but I can't remember the title. I remember the contactee lived in California and that he was telepathically summoned to the desert. I recall the encounter where he met the group of aliens after several solitary encounters. I recall, they may have had a barbecue (seriously). The aliens were very human like in many ways and I recall they liked joking with the contactee.
I have no idea whether it was true or not, but it was a very interesting story.

Blue Streak, Yeah! That's the one! I actually found it online on some sort of Hollow Earth links page, despite the fact it didn't mention the H.E. at all.
I've tried all sorts of searches but can't locate it....
I think it was called "visitors from infinity", or "visitors from the stars", something simple like that.
If a light bulb goes off give me a shout!
