Eh no. Early states are 'red' historically and if you view the tracker I posted and compare to 2004 you will see Obama is going to win Indiana and North Carolina. Add all the big coastal states with the mega college votes and this is going to be a big Obama win. Only time will tell if that's a good or bad or indifferent thing.

Yeah, I don't think America is prepared for what'll happen if Mccain wins- I'm not talking about the next four years, I'm talking about tomorrow...
Anyway, right now its 3-16 Mccain leading. But they need 270 votes to win. It's too early to tell.
You know it's been explained to me before but I still don't really understand the electoral college.
I am here sorta freaking out... im afraid if mcbush wins there will be riots..

Here in the UK it's 3am, but I'm still up, watching the US election results. We don't have anything like the campaigns and elections that you have - so it's quite intriguing :original:
What we have here is 207 for Obama and 135 for McCain.
Those presenting the results are both English and American, with commentary from a mixed UK/USA sort of informal panel.
Of course, as our system doesn't work anything like the USA I haven't a clue what a College vote is, or how it all works. Still, they are saying that although they are speaking in terms of projections, they would be extend into reasonably accurate figures because there is far more caution when giving these out because of the last electoral problems.
Or something like that:original: It is 3am, after all :lol3:

Allie: Basically, the people do not vote in the election, the states do. The weight of each state is based on its population (winner takes all). The electoral college is the actual vote for president- individuals in the EC pledge to vote for the candidate who gets the simple majority vote in their state. If 50.1% of people vote for candidate A and 49.9% vote for candidate B, then candidate A gets the entire weighted vote of the state.
In light of the last few elections the system seems stupid because the winner isn't necessarily the one who wins the majority vote. But this is the way it is set up in order to preserve the rights of the states (which are responsible for preserving the rights of their residents). I personally think it is still stupid (especially the winner takes all part).

Again Shellie you make a good point.
When the numbers are in this time like 04 the popular vote will reflect the college vote. Colleges if abused can be like caucuses but in this case that wont be a problem.
I'm a UK citizen and believe UK and US should have a representational system.
I feel for McCain because he is wearing the brunt of the Bush presidency.

Allie
11-05-2008, 03:30 AM
Thanks for that, Shellie :original: I'm still a bit confused but I'm wondering if its similar to the way we do it in the UK.
We are divided into counties (I would think the whole of the UK could fit into one of your states :lol3:). Each county - depending on its size - is likely to be sub-divided by north, south, east and west. Each will have parliamentary candidates - one for each of the political parties that puts up a candidate. (We do have some jokers, like one headed by Screaming Lord Sutch :original:)
People go out and vote for their candidate and it is the one who has the most votes in that particular constituency who wins his/her seat in parliament. The party that wins the most counties (seats) becomes the one who forms a government. Whoever gets the second highest number of seats becomes the opposition. It isn't particularly fair because it doesn't represent the national share of the vote. One party - the third (Liberal Democrats) has been calling for proportional representation for years as it is the fairest way, reflecting the national share of the vote.:original:
If that doesn't make sense, well, it's 3.30am now :original:

I can't say that I've felt strongly about either candidate. During the election I felt McCain was more erratic in behaviour partly I think because he was genuinely torn between reality and necessity.
Perhaps the PTB have a plan that involved ending slavery, ending segregation, promoting civil rights and enabling minorites and women that they have the right to lead.
I've watched these candidates since the beginning run themselves into the ground physically and emotionally. Maybe it's a show but they still did it. Kudos to them and now we have to hold Obama to his promises.

Now it is in the constitution that they don't exist.

what is the shortest number of days
a president has been in office ???
William Henry Harrison (1773-1841) was the first US president to die in office. At 32 days, he also had the shortest term in office.

Well one reason that they are scrambling to bring the Taliban to the table, is to bring a quick peace to the region.
I think just like Iraq once the parties start talking, the violence will end...

Another sad mistake. You think the elections were made for US TO CHOOSE? how funny is that. Why would you think that the powers that be would let the commoners choose its ruler? Think about it. If you can't comprehend that thought then let us look at some evidence.

Antrapolagists have proved through DNA that we are all from the same ancesters..Enki?..Enlil? who ever... recently they proved that all blue eyed people come from the same ancester? Not mine or Obama's (I am brown eyed)..... so heck must be the devils seed!!! the seed of Cain ..blaa blaa.
All that matters today is that the world woke up this morning and threw away its prozac... there is such euphoria and hope that the whole planet must have jumped a few meters up the vibratioinal scale towards ascention or the positive 2012 time line??
If Barack is a Luciferian or an Illumanati plant or a mind controle or cloned walk-in candidte in waiting... (which I doubt but could be wrong) then what's new there? But what is new is the positive energy his election is generating around the planet... even if only temporery it is hugely relivent and positive in our spiritual evolution. ... may be... But surley the people have given them selves this leader.... I take it the voting system wasn't rigged??? Surely we have to stop this helpless sheep with no minds of our own victum mentality? We have free will.. we can stand up to manipulation and mind controle by simply thinking and chosing for our selves... Listen to our hearts... We are our own rulers and we have a voice which we are waking up to and finally using our heads and our voices?
We will reamaine a pasive flock as long as believe thats what we are? We hand away our own power as long as we continue to hand it away.
I think that the people have sent a clear message with a clear voice... Lets see what happens next??

Now That Obama Has Won . . . There is No Excuse
Now that a Democrat has been elected president, the Democrats in Congress have no excuse. They can no longer pretend that they have to "hold back" to win the election.
They have no excuse to delay war crimes charges against Bush, Cheney and company for Iraq.
They have no excuse to delay war crimes charges for torture.
They have no excuse to delay criminal charges for spying on Americans.
They have no excuse to delay criminal charges for 9/11.
Now is not the time for Democratic machine politics. Now is the time to implement true American values - cherished across the political aisle - of liberty and justice.
There can be no liberty in America unless the tyrants who have tried to imprison us and enslave us are prosecuted.
There can be no justice in America unless the high and mighty are held accountable for their actions.
Obama is a former Constitutional law professor. He knows the value of the Constitution and the rule of law. He promised during his campaign to curb the unconstitutional practices of the executive branch.
But that is not enough. Because if the tyrants in both parties who have trampled on the vision of the founding fathers are not held accountable, then future tyrants will learn that they can get away with it, also.
Now that Obama has won, there is no excuse. Those who have trampled on our country and our people must be held to account for the whole world and future generations to see.

Of course there is programming and frequency interference going on but it does not work on us like a switch were the minute we turn on a TV we turn in to zombies with hands out streched muttering "I obay!" You need a lot off it and you need to have no other vibrations or frequencies.. evrey thought of your own produces a different frequency... To fight the manipulation of our 3d world we have to work with in our 3d world that we inhabit and are mainly conscious in... To vote and partake in politics and go up against negiitive energies and entities and frequencies and agenda's that are not benifical to us or serve our evolution we have to fight in our own 3d world. We have to take controle of our our 3 d world. We can't do this by sitting on our bums and saying "whats the point?"... We're all mindcontrolled and every body is one of them!!".. This is obsesive complacency coupled with paranoia that wont get any one any where.... We have to, in their own words, "Fight them on the beaches.!"......and in the fields and in the air and on the land and in thier military bases by infiltraton and on there political arena's by going up against them in elections and by voting for the candedit who will beat theirs. Some times to beat and controle a system you have to take it from with in ...from infaltration. They do it so whay cant we?
With Obama's victory the world is a much happier place today and that is what matters. The spirits have been raised, literaly!! Love to you all...

Hi Rebel :original:
You are right there is television programming going on. Like others, I have been and am aware of this fact. Personally, I hardly ever watch television. I did tune in yesterday to CNN, however, to see the election results as well as Obama's Grant Park celebration. After the celebration, a CNN reporter happen to ask Oprah Winfrey, who attended, what her thoughts were on what was happening. Oprah said several things and among them was that she felt there was a shift in consciousness that took place. Now, I don't think I have been programmed because I watched this on T.V. and heard Oprah say her opinion briefly. Antonia expresses a good point about programming in her post that replies to your comment. Antonia writes, "it (programming) does not work on us like a switch where the minute we turn on a T.V. we turn into zombies w/ hands out stretched muttering 'I obey!'". :eyes: I also do not think there has been a shift in consciousness just because Oprah Winfrey says so. One can just observe for themselves on what many, many people (not all) are doing :woot_jump: and saying around the world because Obama won the election. From this observation as well as my own feelings, I think there has been a shift in consciousness from, for example, fear to hope that has taken place within many, many people. One does not have to believe in or follow the new age movement to see this kind of shift that has taken place. So to answer your question, I am awake (in regards to what we are talking about). I am looking at the physical world and expressing what I see.
Peace to you.
