Kerry requests this be canceled. I believe I was out of line. I respect her right to do make decisions as she sees fit. May the forum be blessed! Namaste all, With Love, Karen
Dear Avalon Members,
Read Carefully,
Do not send money yet, this is a test to see, if we could raise enough money for one year without having a subscription.
1) Post your pledge amount here or PM me if you want anonymity. Approximate amount is OK for this test.
2) Date you would send donation and by which method.
***If you can help find an angel investor send me a PM aka private message.
WARNING: The moderators will delete anything from this thread other than your simple pledge statement. Post any other things you want to say in one of the other related threads.

I am an all or nothing kind of gal:
At this time I can only pledge my time – my all – to achieve this goal.
You can also post to this thread, your pledges of Time/Help with this project.
Keep it short please.

I'll give $24- which would have been my membership plus a "gift" membership. I'll use paypal once all is set up. :wub2:
Do you know how to set up a widget?
http://www.chipin.com/
You simply fill that out and there you have it. You will have a ticker that everyone can see and the person who sets up the chipin will be able to see how much each person gave if they need that info.
And thank you, Karen. This feels so much better than the subscription plan. :wub2:
20.00 USD in the mail by Monday.

I'm not an owner of a Fully-Loaded Creditcard so if you can setup some kind of PayPal-system I will contribute the equivalent of 30 US$, sending cash in a letter from Sweden to the states is not something I want to do.
I would also like to know how the money will be managed, hope you don't mind me asking.

$120 = our regular membership + five fixed income pensioners for one year
(Karen: clarification $60 membership and 5 $12 memberships)

AUD$1000 (about USD$640) whenever you need it.
My original plan was to fund some freebie subs for those that need it and gather up some additional other people that can contribute to an assistance fund (I posted that notion a while back and I know others had the same idea because they said so - back in the early subscription debate)
However if we do it this way, it is all good.

NOVEMBER 20 - PLEDGE $25.00.
Now THIS way is much better! :):thumb_yello:
It's on the way!
$25.00
:original:
Ok, I'm leaving right now to mail you cash. :)
This, in my opinion, is the ethical way to support these projects.
(Karen says, if we go with membership fees, I will contact you to see if you want to apply this mail in amount to your member ship plus one gift membership.)

I still do not support the notion of having to pay for knowledge, but I do believe this is the the most immediate and best resolution to the situation at hand.
I would do my best to scrounge money up for this. So...
$10 is my pledge. I will send it by money order Thanksgiving weekend if that is the case.

how about tree fitty. just kiddin :mfr_lol:
Money and I are at the opposite ends of the energy spectrum. Hmmmm... im gonna go sell some stuff and will send avalon some cash. I am so strapped for cash right now its not even funny, im lucky to have a house. Good thing for free internet.
All my spare money has been going to my science experiments but I am sure that I can dig up a few bucks for avalon.
Maybe there are some government grants avalon can apply for. :thumb_yello:

May I just ask a question? A respectful one with a view to understanding.
Why is the money needed in one hit? Would this be different via a subscription route as I'm not sure I'm understanding.
Thanks.
Karen says: This is just an experiment - how close can we get? We can't run one of these every month.
Quarterly would make it a goal of 15,000. Nothing is set in stone -- this is me brainstorming after spending most of 2 days reading and noting the reactions to the subscription fee. Please private message me for these types of questions.

What I give now is just what I can give now. I'm the type of person who gives periodically- when money flows here I'm generous. I go through cycles.
I'd recommend raising funds like 3x/year or something. A good time would be if there's another stimulus package passed by our oh so brilliant politicians. :lol3: Or after tax returns start coming back (March-ish?). I can't imagine it would all be needed *right* now and then there are the sales of merchandise that will help out once they go on sale. Same with the dvds or whatever. It will come, have faith Bill and Kerry. When push comes to shove it happens.
I think it would be a good idea to know what is needed until, say, March or so...the next 4 months then in the meantime starting adding to the revenue via the sales ideas. :wub2:

We have pledges of $1241 with 2 unknown amounts.
$58,759 to go Largest single donation $640.
It has only been about 6 hours. We need 48 times more in dollar amounts.
We are only 2% of the way to $60,000 (minimal operating expenses for 1 yr.)
Can we do it? Or will this show why the subscription route was chosen.
still pretty good for only a few hours eh.
question....
is 60 G's really needed that quickly?

Hi,
I'll send 100€ --- while I still have it:-) When you let me know when I will send it electronically
take it easy, I am really glad we are doing this. I have no problem raising funds from all sorts of activities in the future. I seriously look to the past and what used to be our youthful enterpriseing spirit, cake sales, lemonade stands, garage sales etc...... if everyone did something once a year, we would be there in no time.

$24 a.s.a.p.
I'm not sure what all the payment options are (Ive been looking and can't find a list. Could someone post a link or pm me please?).
I'd like to keep it non-digital (w/ cash) like I've heard some say they were sending, but is that viable, sending cash through the mail?

EDIT: Nevermind this then:
[B]
The most minimal goal is $60,000 operating expenses for 1 year.

My mistake and misunderstanding! Everything needs to also be cleared through Kerry. Upon her instruction the subscription plans will continue. I close this thread now and apologize to Kerry and Bill and the members for any problems this has caused. Please just let it go .... all this fuss over the subscription. I give my blessings and pray for the highest good to manifest. Love is who we are, Karen
