Yep I do it every morning. :thumb_yello:
I use Organic Sunflower oil.
I barely take half a table spoon each time,
so my 500 ml bottle lasts over 2 months.
salute.

Great post! Yeah, my homeopathic doctor got me started about 10 years back. (cold pressed sunflower oil) because I had strep-throat. Of course with anything homeopathic, it takes time, that strep-throat took me 2 to 3 days to combat, but wonderfully enough, I did not need any antibiotics!!! I didnt know about its other uses, (besides for sore gums) but always use it when I feel a sore throat coming on, and it works well!!! Thanks again for the post! Oh, and Ive used pure coconut oil too with great results.

Sounds interesting, cold pressed oils are expensive here because it retains more of their nutrition/quality. I don't know if I can get cold pressed sunflowe oil, but I'll try the sesame - it'll be especially helpful to be more efficient in the metabolism in cold weather :).
EDIT - http://www.graigfarm.co.uk/organic_cold_pressed_oils.html
There's also a brand called Clearspring http://www.clearspring.co.uk/european/oils/clearspring_organic_cold_pressed_oils
which can be bought from various stockists such as:

Very interesting info! I will try it, as the idea resonates with me. Often the simple remedies are the best, but few doctors are aware of this. The education of alleopathic health personell acts as a screen against solutions that are easy and cheap. This one promises to be effective.
Russian researchers often are in touch with folk-medicine with long traditions.
As another example, apparently one may still buy mustard bandages and band-aids in Russian drugstores.
This is important to have in our knowledge base and in our tool chest for the troublesome times ahead.

Susan,
Thanks for this info. Do you actually have to rinse for 20 minutes? I have a hard time just brushing my teeth for 2 minutes!
love & peace

Don't know for Susan, but i can tell 15-20minutes or do it till it looks like a 'white foam'. :winksmiley02:
They recommend 3 times a day, too much for me, though.
It's good for teeth and gums while at the same time it 'pulls' toxins out of the body.
Good luck.

I bought some cold press hemp oil today.
Seemed like a good idea even though it cost £6 for the bottle, took it home and went to put it in the cupboard only to see the same bottle sat unopened on the shelf :sneaky2:
I wish I had a memory :naughty:

Oil pulling is one of the cheapest and best ways to health read the book "All Disease Starts in the Mouth ;OIL PULLING THERAPY; Detoxifying and Healing the Body Through Oral Cleansing" by Dr. Bruce Fife. A very informative book on this subject. We use coconut oil for its healing qualities and I suggest it to most of my clients. Some people may feel the benefits in a few days others it may take months but just start with once a day first thing, but if you do have decay or other health problems in the mouth do it more ofter. Disease in the mouth is a big part of body health.

Sorry to bump an old thread - but has anyone else started this yet?
I've just started (organic sunflower oil) and I have to say that one tablespoon was too much for my mouth so I'm using two teaspoons or half a tablespoon instead and I'm having a hard time lasting for 15-20min, it's more like 5 minutes before I've had enough. Any tips?
Many thanks.

I know what you mean Jacqui D, for the first time in 11 years I caught really bad flu - the type that lasts 2/3 weeks and all the Vit C, rest, warm fluids and clearing out the nasal passages just didn't work or maybe they did in that it didn't get any worse. When I usually get flu it lasts 4 days max, so I'm adding the oil pulling, neti pot and barley grass to my everyday routine - I'll have to start getting up earlier before work lol!

Yea your right I tried it and one tablespoon is too much, you would need a massive mouth for all that :jawdrop:
And about 5 mins was all I could take before I was really bored of it
