I just heard a song by Melissa Etheridge and Salman Ahmad that, in my opinion, is pretty uplifting. It is called "Ring the Bells of Peace". One can hear it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJCsNrZzC78
These two singer/songwriters along w/ Deepak Chopra are asking people to ring a bell for peace on 12/21/2008 noontime. http://www.ringthebellsofpeace.com/

Yello - Domingo De Santa Clara
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvsHnbzW6vU
We are here
In this holy cave today
To celebrate
The reincarnation
Of Domingo de Santa Clara
The man who convinced us
That there is no Lord
For His name is Buddha, Allah, Shiva, Jahve
Outside our bodies
We are God
'Cause only we can create the idea
Of His existence in our Holy Brains
Let us pray to ourselves and our spirits!
We all know
Domingo of Santa Clara
Will be born today, tomorrow, and the day after
Billions of times
'Til the end of the Universe
Here with a smile on his face
As the rest of our species watches
The catastrophe

Well thank you both so much - what excellent selections, didn't know that Enya track [she's very good] and that live version of Heroes was blinding.
I just found this looking for another track, and although it's not his best music, the graphics just make it;

I've never really liked Wyclef until I saw this - really excellent, and definately music of the light....Bob really does seem to have been a prophet.
Brings tears to the eyes. Beautiful.
the Bon Jovi, although a really very impressive version I must say, doesn't quite fit for me as music of the light....
Okay, my turn.....

StarMan by David Bowie
Classic song, but if you're into 2012, UFOlogy etc check out the lyrics, made me laugh.
Theres a starman waiting in the sky
Hed like to come and meet us
But he thinks hed blow our minds
Theres a starman waiting in the sky
Hes told us not to blow it
Cause he knows its all worthwhile

Yeah all the performances are awesome!, It's called Tribute to Heroes and was made like the next day or two after 911, I think that Tom Hanks was one of the organizers. I think you can see the whole thing on Youtube! And if you notice, none of them will smile and all give from the heart in every performance.

I prefer the original more because I always end up singing along to it. It's one of the few songs I can actually decipher the lyrics to. Seems fitting too since it's a beautiful song.

Hey Dan, that's okay - I was about to go into one about how Pink Floyd's 'the Wall was one of the most awful 'victim mentality' albums ever made [great sounds notwithstanding - unfortunately the film also gave the irritating Bob Geldof a new lease of life too]........anyway, and then I was going to post some of their much better earlier material...

Lovin the 10 yrs after....
And I remember watching live aid, Freddie Mercury stole the show imo!
[as usual]
But at least we have Bono, pre-Papal emissary, exhibiting that ,er, humility he used to be so good at......Live at Red Rocks is still arguably their best, but I'm showing my age now.
So just to prove I'm not just an old Hippie, here's something a tiny bit more recent;

HaHa yeah I hear ya, I get on a roll sometimes and will do better next time, but Grandaddy?? I'll see what I can come up with. P.S. does it have to be mellow? hmmm maybe I'm not sure exactly what music of the light is, if it's orchestral or new age electronics then I can't help ya here. I try to pick only quality music from quality musicians that has meant something to me. It's the instruments and the voices that speak loudly to me and give me that "goose bump kinda feeling", plus I posted the last few to bump the thread back up.If it's good music that gives me that feel good feeling and maybe brings me back to a time and place that I remember then that is music of the light for me.

OK what did I do now? Maybe I should let someone else add to the thread. doh!! By the way, I don't like Enya or Mariah Carey and wouldn't buy any of their music, I just thought it fit in "music of the light". Guess I'm done here. You and Antaletriangle can go back and forth for awhile.
