Good information to have. I had no idea that Canada treated natives like dirt. I am familiar with how natives in Vermont are treated as I am of abenaki descent and eugenics was widely practiced against native peoples in VT. I wonder if the same thing was done in Canada?

watch the google movie; that is at the bottom of the link
one woman; says; she saw a baby go into a furnance :(
it's sick -- it is all very sick !!!
the core of it, is religion
the bigger holocaust was pre 1490
when 60,000,000 in north america
and, 60,000,000 in south america
were burned
however, we will NEVER read about those ones
(at least, NOT in schools, where history is NOT real history, only what they want to tell us)
columbus, did NOT discover america 1st
i really have to wonder,
about the type of karma,
some souls, will have to pay,
when they cycle out of here,
for their next lifetime
when we will realise, that love is all we have
what good is being in a higher mind,
if you do NOT have a higher heart to go along with it
also, if the natives don't stop fighting the natives
and, if the natives,
don't stop fighting those who believe in their teachings
and, are trying to teach,
those things,
they don't want to share/or teach people themselves
it is down the drain, for many
it's time to save ourselves from ourselves

Oh I definitely agree. I would watch the video but it is likely not captioned and I cannot understand videos without captions.
I have always thought that organized religion is a crutch for the weak-minded. My family was forced to become Catholics to avoid forced sterilization back in the 30s. In fact, Hitler got the idea of using eugenics from a professor at the University of Vermont. Scary thought.
I am actually a public official representing Native Americans in VT. We have to fight tooth-and-nail to get anything we want. Vermont still has racist attitudes about the abenaki and it is my goal as a representative to change that.

I THINK this one you will understand,
as, you watch it,
you can actually "feel the look" of the people
in your heart ;)

It`s quite amazing how so many people don`t even know about the history of their own country. The Canadian government has treated our natives worst than dirt and no one seems to be aware of it or if they are, they don`t care. Either way it`s rather sad. So much so that during the OKA crisis the general public were more concerned about the traffic in the area as opposed to the reason why the folks on the Oka rez had to resort to such tactics to make themselves be heard.
We just recently avoided possibly another crisis of the sort and again because the Quebec government wanted to take away yet more land from the kahnawake folks to extend a highway. Now I guess the Quebec government learned something from the Oka crisis and a deal was reached.
So the fact that not a lot of people know or care about what Canada has done to it`s natives over the course of it`s history is equally embarrassing as the Governments actions. Canada is most definitely guilty of genocide without any question of doubt. As a proud Canadian I am embarrassed by the situation. :mad3:
Those Canadians ain`t so "nice" after all eh.

most of the natives that i know and i know quite a few have only a vague idea about their history, their language [ almost extinct],and most think jesus died on the cross for THEIR sins.Louis Riel was hung for complaining about native rights in the late 1800s and after that resistance was nil.i happen to live in a bible belt, and prejudices still run rampant.i think if a nice muslim coloured jesus walked into a church around here, he might have problems. them jesuits know their craft.they have had alot of practice. i was married[common law]to a native lady;have two awsome kids together 24 an 23 and neither mom nor kids can speak native.shawna's parents were part of the canadian residential school holocaust program.both grand parents were very insistant that my children be baptised[go figure]any ways ,enough rambling peace out kent ps ,you sure got yourself a brilliant mind, exchanger.i appriciate your love and sharing.
This is heartbreaking - a total disgrace.
I have just remembered this Robbie Robertson track from my CD, it's called Ghost Dance.

I am not familiar with the Canadian holocaust really. Though it comes as no surprise to me. Man's conquest of land has been going on for sometime now and it continues today. I sometimes feel ashamed about being a white man in America, yet I know if I was the person I am now there at that time I would have been on the side of the Native people of the land. It stirs my emotions and helps bring me to a compassionate caring for others.

I watched this video and forced myself to do so as I had tears running down my face and got very choked up
I know it was bad vibes but I felt that it was important to watch these people get their stories out They were struggling and what little I had to suffer was nothing to their pain! People need to know this story
My son married a Native American and I have only gotten to know her in the last couple of years. I told her about this and also what I read about the Nebraska Boys School that was ran by Father Flanagan. SAME **** happened there.
Her grandmother just testified about the schools in Wisc where this treatment also went on! We all think we know so much but know nothing at all
The sad thing is that in this world too many people tend to feel sorry for themselfs or their race and never see what is happening to others. What a hard lesson to learn our history really is.

In fact is an American (south and north america) holocausts (by the way, Holocausts means "ritual sacrifice"... odd).
But in the northern parts of america the killing was worst, because that the northamericans (usa/canada) looks like europeans and some parts of southamerica the people is a mix of the "indians" (mongoloids), with caucasians and blacks to.
In fact In Agentina and Uruguay the people looks like europeans, that's because there where more killing of the indigenous people than other parts.

I checket out the story 4 years ago, just after the story broke I think. All denominations in Canada are involved.
My sister, who is a bible-thumper, said something good came out of it:
'There have been some reconcilliatory meetings between some survivors and some ministers/priests'.
I was stunned.

due to my dialup connection, i can't watch the video, but i am aware of the canadian record on the matter. the first prime minister, sir john a macdonald was in favour of genocide to get rid of the native 'problem'.
the conditions in northern native communities are deplorable. people are dying downstream from the oil sands in northern alberta and it has been largely ignored.

for the laptop that has lost its sound
did you check to see, if you hit the "mute"' key
and, then un-mute it ???
or...if a sound file fell out,
and, you can reload it online ???
oldpaganfreak -- i think it is mostly audio
i could always call you, and, you could listen to it via the phone
i wish more people would create things on audio books
& i am sure dial up sucks !!!
why NOT go on a satelite ???
i don't think it is that much more expensive
recently i purchased
2 books, that were over 1000 pages
and, got them on audio book
that was a real treat for my ears,
and, NOT having to utilise my old eyes

I have recently heard that Russia is trying to get rid of the native people of Siberia but in a slightly different way. Instead of paying them for their job with money... they pay them with alcohol. Now most of them are addicted to alcohol. everybody drinks, even children.

i'm afraid that i can't download music either. my connection speed is 26.4 kbps and the actual download speed is 2-3 kpbs.
it would cost 1000 bucks to get the dish for satelite internet and 75 bucks a month. just can't afford it.

I would like to hope so myself. I seen this and I reported prior to today when you first put this up
What I dont understand is the fact that until people acknowledge all of the genocides including the holocaust of germany for WHAT it really was we will not be able to stop any of it as it continues.
We need to be the voice of all of the victims.

Hopefully this is not off-topic here, but the same thing has happened to the natives in Australia. The government has just recently acknowledged kidnapping aborigine children from their parents and re-educating them in abusive situations. Oops! So, this has happened in the US, Canada, and Australia. I suppose one could say it also happened in Europe, although back then it was called the Inquisition. Notice that in each one of these situations it's the church behind the whole process.

one of our friends told us today:
We had some people here the other day
that was telling about the horrors of the inner cities of chicago
children can't even get to school and are being forced to pay for their transportation to school
and if they can't afford it - which most cant'
they have to walk through the gangs .
many kids are so afraid of the gangs and being killed
many kids are killed daily in chicago because of the gangs
