Hi Everybody,

Just to show I'm still alive and kicking; this just in.

New York Governor Paterson has proposed sales tax increases on 137 different products and services, ranging from 'full fat' Coca Cola to rub downs.

Where will we be with massages being more expensive?

Seriously, the increases things like taxis and leasure activities like cinemas.

Could this be the beginning for the rest of the States to follow suit?

Best regards,

Steve

I think the simplest solution for the entire country of America and maybe elsewhere too is to add 1 dollar tax to every pack of cigarettes and every bottle of booze, add 5 dollars tax to every carton of cigarettes and every case of beer! People are still going to smoke and drink, so tax the s...t out of all the poisons that people consume and that would generate billions of dollars. Enough I would think to leave the rest of the tax structure alone! Is that to simple?

So you're advocating MORE sin taxes? I don't think so.

I would prefer that there NOT be a high tax on beer, especially since the more expensive it is, the less likely people are going to support local breweries. Many of these breweries are the lifebloods of the towns/cities they are based in.
