Russia starts S-300 missile supplies to Iran - Iranian MP

"TEHRAN, December 21 (RIA Novosti) - Russia has started the supplies of components for S-300 air defense systems to Iran, a senior Iranian lawmaker said on Sunday.

Esmaeil Kosari, deputy chairman of the parliamentary commission on national security and foreign policy told the Iranian news agency IRNA that Iran and Russia had held negotiations for several years on the purchase of S-300 air defense systems and had finalized a deal.

Kosari said the Islamic Republic would deploy S-300 surface-to-air missile systems to strengthen national defense on border areas.

Iran recently took delivery of 29 Russian-made Tor-M1 air defense missile systems under a $700-million contract signed in late 2005. Russia has also trained Iranian Tor-M1 specialists, including radar operators and crew commanders.

The U.S. and Israel, which have consistently refused to rule out the possibility of military action against Iran, were earlier alarmed by media reports, which started circulating as early as 2005, on the possible delivery of S-300 surface-to-air missiles to Iran, as these systems could greatly improve Iranian defenses against any air strike on its strategically important sites, including nuclear facilities.

The advanced version of the S-300 missile system, called S-300PMU1 (SA-20 Gargoyle), has a range of over 150 kilometers (over 100 miles) and can intercept ballistic missiles and aircraft at low and high altitudes, making the system an effective tool for warding off possible air strikes.

The Islamic Republic has conducted several high-profile war games this year, including a three-day series of Air Force and missile defense exercises on September 15-18, while promising swift retaliation in the event of any act of aggression against the country.

Iran is currently under three sets of relatively mild UN Security Council sanctions for defying demands to halt uranium enrichment, which it says it needs purely for electricity generation despite Western accusations that the program is geared toward weapon production."

Good point, which is why our country is full of hypocrites when we cry about other countries having nuclear weapons. If we are so adamant about disarming, we should disarm our own nuclear weapons or shut the hell up.

“Information that has appeared in several media outlets about deliveries of the S-300 anti-aircraft system to Iran does not correspond to reality,” the statement said.

Senior Israeli official to visit Moscow over S-300 sale to Iran
The Haaretz reported that Israeli Defense Ministry's Diplomatic-Security Bureau Maj.-Gen. (res) Amos Gilad has been sent to Moscow to dissuade Russia from selling the S-300 missile system to Iran.

WASHINGTON – U.S. officials said Monday that they want answers from Russia on whether it is selling advanced surface-to-air missiles to Iran, a move the U.S. insists could threaten American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. A senior military intelligence official said that while Moscow has sent out conflicting responses to reports on the sale of long-range S-300 missiles, the U.S. believes it is taking place. However, it appears that no equipment has yet been delivered to Iran, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.

Russia's state arms export agency said Monday it is supplying Iran with defensive weapons, including surface-to-air missiles, but did not say whether they include sophisticated long-range S-300 missiles.

State Department spokesman Robert Wood said the U.S. is seeking clarification from Russia.

I think Israel lost thier window of opportunity for attack back when they botched the invasion of South Ascetia with Georgia. Most people look past it, but when Putin made Iran his allies, he probably prevented a small scale nuclear war.

They probably don't see it this way, but they had until November 26th to accomplish thier mass ritual sacrifice with this war. Power consciousness has left the building and ethics consciousness is now the prevailing vibration. This will make everything they attempt to do with power consciousness difficult. Its kind of like trying to like a fire underwater.

Yes! And Plan B is "warm" war in Pakistan along with the recent false flag in Mumbai, India. I believe that Pakistan is the real prize, with Iran being a consolation. Russia and China are complicating the situation because of their dealings with Iran. But, U.S. intelligence agencies have a long relationship with the I.S.I. in Pakistan.

All of these "moves of the game" are planned to add to the destabilization of the existing nation-states. That way the suffering multitudes will demand a global governmental system to fix the horrible problems that are actually being orchestrated to collapse the economies of the capitalist countries. When the American economy tanks, the leading capitalist country will be scorned by people across the globe.

I feel that others are slowly awakening to this.

We (the awakened) are like Rocky Balboa getting his second wind against Ivan Drago. Drago's all hopped on chemicals and computers while Balboa is the true underdog. Even when Balboa defeats Drago, it shows Drago that he was wrong to trust his trainers, trust his country and he too, realized that he too, was like Rocky in this aspect. When you remove the obvious cultural differences, you find that we are all alike no matter whose side we are on.

There are plenty of allusions to awakening in popular culture, such as Darth Vader turning on the Emperor to save Luke and plenty of other examples.
