On that link there was 293 earthquakes total for 1 month, Dec.3 to Jan.3, 13 were over 6.0 and 280 were equal to, or over 4.0

Yellowstone had 250 tremors all under 3.8 in just a few days.

JAKARTA, Indonesia – A series of powerful earthquakes in remote eastern Indonesia cut power lines, cracked building walls and sent panicked residents running out of their homes Sunday, officials and witnesses said.

A 7.6-magnitude quake struck at 2:43 a.m. local time about 85 miles from Manokwari, Papua, at a depth of 22 miles, the U.S. Geological Agency said.

The Indonesian Meteorology and Seismology Agency issued a tsunami alert but it was revoked within an hour after it was determined the epicenter was on land.

The initial jolt was followed by a series of strong aftershocks, including one with a strength of 7.5, the agency said.

"We have not been able to get any information of casualties or damage but since the epicenters were on land, they have a potential to cause significant damage," said Rahmat Priyono, a supervisor at the National Earthquake Center.

There were no immediate reports of injuries in Papua, which is about 1,830 miles east of the capital in some of the nation's least developed territory.

Electricity went off and people fled their homes in the dark, fearing a tsunami, said Hasim Rumatiga, a local health official.

In the town of Sorong, very near to the epicenter, a resident told El Shinta radio that buildings and houses had been slightly damaged.

Indonesia straddles a chain of fault lines and volcanoes known as the Pacific "Ring of Fire" and is prone to seismic activity. A huge quake off western Indonesia caused the 2004 Asian tsunami that killed around 230,000 people, more than half of them in Sumatra.

I'm always worried when I see "Earthquake Indonesia" since the one I love lives there. Indonesia is my second home. I have many friends over there.
I still remember the day of the tsunami. I was in panic and couldn't reach her for a long time.

C'mon guys. Every earthquake is not caused by haarp. Southeast asia is a very active earthquake zone (ring of fire). Did haarp cause all of these quakes? The red ones are from just today.

I guess they could have some help from the slightly less powerful australian "auroral research project", but still that's a lot of "haarp" useage, and to what ends?

Now if we can find some video of "northen lights" type of atmospherical anomolies like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJb8p6S_kqk), which preceeded the sichuan province earthquakes in china last year, I'll change my tune. For now though, I feel pretty safe in saying that this was natural.

Hi raulduke,

I totally agree with you. Earthquakes are rife. They happen every day of the year in some place or other on the Earth. This is no secret, however many people don't realize it.

Using the same argument of not every earthquake is caused by HAARP, we should use the same logic for the 'predictions' of earthquakes made by certain 'prophets'.

Seismography is a science that studies the movement of the ground and can 'predict' where earthquakes probably will happen.

I can safely say that is most likely that an earthquake will happen tomorrow in the Indonesian islands.

Does that make me a prophet? ;)

I think not.

Best regards,

Steve
