Is there any esoteric or spiritual or any meaning to a deck of cards? Noone ever stops to think about playing cards having meaning.

There are the 3 face cards in 'power' going from least to most, Jack - Queen - King. The masculine card beats the feminine card due to the patriarchal society we live in. What does the Jack represent and why is it not as influential as the queen or king? Just what is the Ace card? How can it be both 1 and 11 in Blackjack? Why is it more influential than the rest of the cards?

A deck of cards has to have some meaning behind it. We are all so used to using them, nothing ever crosses our mind when we think about it, King beats Queen... Why? Ace beats everything... Why? Ace can be both 11 and 1... Why?
