In regard to the Nexus undertaking and possible threats of the internet going down soon I've been musing about consequences and contingencies.

Let's imagine that in a month, the web will be off, or seriously filtered and policed. (Hello police!)

Project Camelot, Project Avalon, The Avalon Forums, Nexus 2012, our community and not to forget, all the other communities, videos, articles, news on the web will be gone or inaccessible or strictly surveilled.

I've got some scenarios that I will play out here and would hope for some reactions, and maybe even a plan to be formed.

Level 1:The web will be there, shutting it off will be impossible but there will be more 'cable breaks', unreachable sites, policing, tracking, blocking. You name it.

Solution 1a:
Your friend and helper, the hacker community.
Get your next techie and learn how to set up tunnels, proxies, p2p. Maybe you're in luck and you won't be held back. Use eMail (unsecure) or instant messaging (not much better) or IRC (maybe) instead.

Solution 1b:
That the 'web' is policed doesn't mean that there's no getting through. Get alternative addresses, multiple accounts, backup boards.
Invent code language, there will not be a vast human force policing you, they will be bots that look for dynamics, counts, words. All that. China leads the way in ever again reinventing new words for the same things to stay stealthy.

Level 2: The web will simply be what it is, but everybody will have to have a unique tracking code. It's your web RFID so to speak. Now where do you go?

Solution 2a:
These codes will be unique. You won't be able to double them up or so. Faking them would become obvious to the system. Thus, the only option might be to use several computers/systems or have other people do your research so you don't hit a limit of "200 visits a day to the Avalon Forum".
The chip is in the system not in your body. Be the crowd!

Solution 2b:
Drop the web. Get personal details ahead of the time, make sure you have the telephone numbers, addresses (yes letters!) or radio agreements with the people you need to be in contact with. Most important however, is WHO do you need to stay in contact with? Does this work for everybody?

Level 3: It's not just the www it's all of it. The phone, the mail, the web, the VoIP, probably radio, you name it!

Solution 3a:
Whoa, it's a lockdown. Anybody else thinking of the 'Mirror's Edge' scenario where vital information is carried ON PAPER, BY PERSONS over rooftops and whatnot through the PHYSICAL WORLD.

Yes, it's back to the messengers baby. (Parcours style, so cool huh?) But this won't work for long distance communication which is a clear disadvantage over satellites, phones and all that.

Don't communicate with a specific person. Use the masses. Trust in synchronicities, follow your intuition. Believe in the dynamic behind the people, not the people. Loyalty is so out of date. You have to understand how to manipulate the conscious of the ONE now.

Level 4: Well, they got them satellites out there and really, moving in the physical world even gives you away. Your face, your thumbprints, the way you walk (Genesis!) is a give away. You can't hide.

Well, maybe you're not so lucky that this will exist by that time and that you'll get one. But hey that sure is some cool symbol of "we're all one".

Retreat into the astral world. Now, there's one option that I don't have much to say about. Do I communicate with the ONE or do I try to locate my friend? How do I recognise my friend? Do I need a picture, an figment of his soul, a memory? How do I communicate with him if I can focus on this plane but he/she can't? If we both can, can we actually converse on there? Is all this web stuff out of style anyway? And if so why don't we do it NOW?

Now I know this all sounds like 'hiding' but I don't intend it to be just that. To me it's about organising, uniting and until the point to stand up in unison comes, playing for time.
