This research park was begun in the 1960's when IBM moved their operations from upstate New York to Durham, NC. It has steadily grown over the years. UNC, NCSU & Duke U. are all located within only a few miles. This area of the country has the greatist concentration of PH.D's per capita than any other place in the US.

I'm sure some nefarious things transpire, but, they have to do them somewhere, right?
