 CDN = Canadian. We use that for currency too, like US$ or CDN$/ CAN$.

 Well, I think your Civil War got rid of it. I have never heard it called 'unwritten' or even a 'Constitution' actually, so that sounds like what a foreign country might describe it as. (?) You'll have to elaborate. We've have quite the job in Canada to keep the US at bay, historically. Canada has a 
Charter of Rights and Freedoms, that is written into the Constitution of Canada, which is an outcrop of the original British North America Act.
