the earth is constantly in a state of change. We humans just so happen to be in the way.

Very tragic. The buildings just crumbled like a house of cards. When we become smart enough to respect the power of the planet we will then be able to engineer structures that can withstand the force.

Unfortunately, were not that smart yet.
