DNA is often symbolized by the snake and the duality of the nature of DNA as symbolized by the caduceus, the twisted snake motif utilized as a symbol of the medical profession. There is a very interesting book called The Cosmic Serpent - DNA and the Origins of Knowledge written by Jeremy Narby. The chemical that rises to the pineal gland is dimethyltriptamine or DMT, though I thought the chemical was produced by the pineal gland. I must study more...sylvan
