I think this is a valid point to bring up -is the earths heliosphere shrinking?
If so then I dont think it could ever vanish as long as the core keeps rotating, it could be overcome be the suns solar winds but would pop back after.
Is it possible that the heliosphere is suffering from outside interferance?
The whole thing is based on the planets EMF and is as you put it like a bubble -imagine blowing on the bubble.
We know its not just earth that is affected so an outside force must be affecting the suns heliosphere and what we are seeing on earth is a result of the sun "reacting" to this outside influence.
