Years ago I hung a magnet on a thread and another thread in front of it showing the Northdirection.
When poles are shifting I see that right away.
Last year we had a shift (several actually) of about 30 degrees that lastet several days.
This year there have only been some small almost invisible shifts, nothing spectacular.
Why not do the same and have your own primitive but accurate measuring.
