Alien Contact," tonight's episode of "Naked Science" on National Geographic Channel, explores that probability, using suitably psychedelic images, trancey music and mercifully brief actual scientific explanations. It dramatizes competing hypotheses about where aliens are, what they're like and how well we'll all get along. "Alien Contact" makes for an excellent hour - a lively and intelligent synthesis of a decade's worth of intergalactic discoveries.
