Makes for an interesting version at least, there are worse stories out there, such as the idea that other races should be treated as gods.

Take whatever lesson you can from it, leave the rest, there are some critical points he is making.

I don't take any of this fringe stuff literally, but there is a kernal of truth embedded in some of them, one must be able to discern carefully.
