Default The Sky Seems to be the Limit

Hi Everybody,

I just got wind of a very interesting piece of information.

Timothy Geitner went to the US Congress and asked for an urgent lifting if the debt ceiling which congress approves from the 12 trillion or so where it stands at the moment to..... well he didn't actually say.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124994128802720681.html

Geitner justified the request of raising the limit by saying that it would ease pressure on the international market, or, in other words, will buy time before countries (China, for example) start wanting their loans back.

The thing is, is that just by requesting what he did surely would have raised red flags on the international scene. I know that if I had lent money and saw that the debtor was looking for strategies to keep afloat, hide the truth or anything else like that, I would be the first in line to get my money back. This isn't rocket science after all.

So what do we get when the US has to balance the books in September? What are we to make of the fact that US embassies in certain parts of the world were quietly asked to buy local currency to last them for a year or so? Why is the Dollar losing ground against softer currencies - even against the Brazilian Real!?

I'm waiting to see how this pans out.

Best regards,

Steve

i read somewhere that china is now only accepting 90 day treasury notes. that puts collapse in the ball park of november. china then wants its money back. the us govt is toast me thinks obama and his band of highwayman are broke and busto and have been outed as thieves to the general population. there are still a few kool aid drinkers but they will get a rude awakening soon.

the uk never seems to get a mention, since we are not euro or dollar. i beleive our treasury bonds are in the sme dire state tho. junk bonds that no one wants.

Seems to me that the planned theft took place in October 2008. I remember Obama being elected in November. How does that make him the thief? It was the Bush administration, and most congressional members voted for it, including Obama. The kool aid was made and consumed before we had a last ditch effort of getting Obama into place on Nov. 4. of last year. It was too late then, but most did not realize it. Now, Obama is getting blamed for it, and is helpless against the ones who put it into effect. Start looking into the events prior to his election. You will see the collapse had roots in the 1980's when US law changed, allowing investment banks and regular banks to merge their operations. This put the derivatives and other financial instruments into place as the weak link in the banking chain...Obama was still in college at Harvard then. He was a very convenient person to blame in the huge shell game. More information will come out...you will see.

Hi lindabaker,

You are absolutely right. The ceiling of the US debt has been rasied and raised again since at least 2004 along with tax cuts by bush.

However, and I'm not trying to take sides here, I'm sure that Obama is intelligent and wise enough to know before he made himself a candidate for the presidency what a mess the US economy was in and what was going on. If he was on the level he could have done what Peter Schiff has done and over the last few years gone against the flow and tell it how it is.

By keeping quiet he does make up part of the plot. If he's left carrying the baby, it's because he agreed to it. Would you not agree?

Best regards,

Steve

How does one go about telling it like it is when your family's lives (and your own) are at stake? When, and how, does he jump in and tell it how it is? I am not being facetious here. A lot is at stake.

You do that by not becoming a part of the mess. If you see pigs splashing in swill and you think "I want a part of that action" you need to understand the consequences. If you still dive in it means you weighed up those consequences as you found them acceptable. You cannot play with pigs and come out smelling like roses.

I guess we need to remove ourselves emotionally from this and keep a beady eye on what is happening. These are interesting times indeed. The trick is to see with the 3rd eye, not the physical ones that adorn our heads.

Love to All of you
