Post We dodged a bullet today

AIG is the largest insurer in the US with $100Bn in revenues and $1T in assets. Today it was seized by the Fed in an $85Bn buyout that makes the US government an 80% owner of the company.

Had AIG collapsed, there would have been a shockwave through the markets as other businesses whose assets are insured by AIG would have been forced to retabulate their values. This could have led to a tsunami of other bankruptcies across several industries that would likely have resulted in a 1929 style panic and global financial collapse.

Be very, very thankful that did not happen today.

But we are not yet out of danger. The dam did not fail today. However, there are still cracks in it that need to be repaired. And there are major policy shifts required in Washington DC.

The ideas and methods of those who have occupied the White House during last few years have proven to be quite harmful to the national security and financial health of this nation.

Regards,
Merkhava

Like I said in an earlier post here, won't all this flooding of the market with money just devalue the dollar?

Estoy de acuerdo. Eventualmente tiempo se agotarán y las enormes deudas financieras causa más hincapié en el sistema mundial. No sé si colapso financiero es inevitable, pero la probabilidad es muy alta.

Atentamente

SI VES EL 30 DE SETIEMBRE ES EL FINAL DEL AÑO FISCAL EN USA AHI ES DONDE SE VERAN REFLAJADOS LOS SINTOMAS DE LA CAIDA O COLAPSO DE LA ECONOMIA DE USA. PARA MI LO MEJOR SERIA QUE SI HAYA EL COLAPSO DE LA ECONOMIA POR QUE HACI HABIA UN CAMBIO, YA QUE LA MONEDA COMO LA CONOCEMOS ES NADA ES UN PEDAZO DE PAPEL SIN VALOR, EJ. SI TU ME DAS UN BILLETE DE us$ 100.00 Y YO LO ROMPO DE VARIOS PEDAZOS ENTONCES TU PERDISTE TUS 100 PERO SI TU MONEDA FUERA DE ORO (GOLD) ENTONCES SIEMPRE POR MAS DAÑADA QUE ESTUBIERA PODRIA VERDER EL ORO Y RECUPERAR TU DINERO.

SALUDOS DESDE PERU Y SUERTE ... LUCHY

This Fed action buys time. It is like having a second chance which allows those who are intelligent and aware enough of these events to take prudent actions. It would be wise for us all to make precautions to shield ourselves from the effects of severe financial stresses.

Everyone should be using this extra time to get their own matters in proper order.

Thumbs up Re: We dodged a bullet today

Does anybody really feel that these gov't entities are truly bailing corps. out when this is really part of their diabolical plan to cause a global financial catastrophe to make people in all nations riot over food & natural resources in order to initiate & complete their top agenda of depopulation thru famine, starvation, civil unrest, & mass genocide for dissidents in FEMA camps who are rebelling against their regime because they know the truth & are trying to spread it before it gets too late. I know they got some covert users as members on this forum to view & know what the enemy is discussing & maybe just going along with the forum to appease their alien authorities. I do not fear their knowledge because if this forum was never created they would still know that peeps are waking the F#%! up anyway & they do know it isn't going to go their way but they're just staying in the NOW because that's all they really have @ this point of this thinning matrix called --- holographic duality. They can rule that duality, but I will ascend into a harmonic newality & lots of people are gonna follow that bandwagon immensely. Don't judge em' just nudge em'! Unconditional love results in an unconditional shove.

"Once a group of psychopaths has reached a position of such power in government (although the dynamic applies to any organization or hierarchy), such a government must work to make itself and its policies appear acceptable to the non-psychopathic human's sense of morality. If such a government were to lower its mask prematurely and truthfully say, "We, the government of psychopaths, despise you as much as we despise our so-called 'enemy'. We will work our hardest until you, our very own citizens, and those of any hostile foreign power, are utterly destroyed. Through poverty, total war, and genocide we will kill you all", the people would naturally revolt. As such, the government of psychopaths (or pathocracy) must mask its language in an acceptable ideology. Thus, a war of aggression becomes a "holy war" or "pre-emptive" war, not for the purpose of imperialistic invasion, but to "protect the homeland". This language is immediately recognized for what it is by other psychopaths, and they can pledge their support accordingly. But with experience, and after extensive observation and research, a non-psychopathic individual, too, can develop an ability to read the hidden meaning."

the us gov doesn't own anything! mostly foreign(rothchild) bankers will own aig, while we(taxpayers) pay for it. further flooding the market with dollars. this was a desperate move at our expense with no risk to the bankers ,giving them more leverage and control. everything is broken too the extent it cannot be fixed, except by severe measures of new beginnings.

You know, the job of a politician is to justify and satisfy their action to the general public.

Of course, probably EVERYONE in the American government (and their allies) would have bank accounts and insurance policies covered by AIG. If AIG went under, so would their savings, pensions and everything else. That's probably why they are bailing out the company.

I agree that this action will only help for the moment. But that would be enough time for them (the politicians) get their money into other areas.

Once they are safe, help will dry up for the rest of you. That's why some companies are being helped and others are being left to rot.

In the meantime I'm going back to the farm.

Best regards,

Over in theUK we have just had this happen:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7621151.stm

HBOS has confirmed it is in advanced talks with Lloyds TSB about creating a UK retail banking giant worth £30bn.

The government has also said it will overrule any concerns that competition authorities may raise.

Again just delaying the inevitable.....

Siezed by the govt in an $85 billion bailout.

Nice to know that the govt is saving the rich by diluting the poor man's dollars.

not all psychopaths will pick up on that & join in the fun, some will quiet honestly be as disgusted as you are. Also, you forgot to include the sociopath seeing as to how the psychopath belongs one rung above.

somethings fishy about this whole thing. Most news stations were reporting "financial claps" seemingly enough to alarm the general public.
