When you think of it, it's always tomorrow somewhere.
More thoughts after a short list of today's festivities, so far. Monday, October 06, 2008 9:30 AM -487.04 at 9838.34 ------------------------------------------ 9:40 AM -487.04 at 9838.34 ------------------------- 9:44 AM -532.36 at 9793.02 ------------------------- 9:45 AM -532.36 at 9793.02 ------------------------- 9:46 AM -532.20 at 9793.18 ------------------------- 9:57 AM -533.87 at 9791.51 ------------------------- 10:01 AM -556.26 9769.04 ------------------------- 10:31 AM -536.98 at 9788.4 ------------------------- 10:52 AM -594.41 at 9730.97 ------------------------- 11:12 AM -617.19 at 9708.19 ------------------------- 11:32 AM -724.07at 9601.31 ------------------------- 11:48 AM -751.31at 9574.07 wheeeeeeeee! Of course at this point the Fed Reserve (PPT) panics. They grab huge wads of our grandchildren's money and start throwing it on the exchange floor. After only 3 hours of that they manage to get the DJIA back to withing only 5 points of the magic "Gee! Everything's still really Ok!" 10,000 number. ------------------------ 2:09 PM -369.88 at 9955.5 ------------------------ I tried turning on the news earlier. it was rather pathetic. The idea of some politician who * was party to spending us into this self-induced tar pit, * had just signed a deal to dump trillions of debt, on our grandchildren * then has the gall to dace the guy at Lehman Bros. who is nothing more than a partner in crime, and call him a thief. --------------------------- And in other near misses... A very small asteroid will streak into the skies over Sudan tonight, astronomers announced. It is expected to burn up in the atmosphere, creating a show.It will not strike Earth. It is the first time an asteroid "impact" has been predicted with near certainty, astronomers said. -------------------------- ![]() ![]() -------------------------- MSNBC has a big story about US Navy doctors getting a look at the hostages aboard one hijacked ship: Crew on hijacked ship off Somalia said to be OK But strangely, one with a more sinister story, the Iranian ship, the MV Iran Deyanet.... "Your query - MV Iran Deyanat - did not match any documents." I guess an Iranian ship picking up irradiated sand in China just isn't news. I wonder how many others are out there that didn't get semi-famous by being hijacked? Oh well, some fun stories to chew on. Fred
