recently sadly in suffolk county and young man from ecuador was
killed by 6 or 7 teenagers for no other reason than the fact that he was latino ![]() ![]() ![]() this situation of discrimination against latinos has been going on for a long time here on long island. this time however a large protest was organized attended by people of every race and background. it is time that the true issue of immigration be dealt with here in this country. everybody enjoys the cheap labor provided by immigrants who are here without papers, but then people want them to be invisible and to exist without human rights when they are not working. NOT FAIR. our country needs to have a national discussion about what is going on. if people are good enough to labor here they are good enough to have papers imo. they cant just pick up our garbage mow our lawns basically do our dirtywork for us and then have to be invisible when they are not working. doggi i believe the demonstration is part of the new energies of the 6th day. the 6th day is supposed to be a time of optimism and dawning enlighten ment. well we need that energy as it refers to the immigration problem so that we come to a national agreement here as to how people are to be treated. if you are good enough to work you are good enough to be here legally imo. this is just my opinion but fairness and justice must be established on this earth. we wont accept anything less. |
