Weirdest thing that happened to me yet on the road…

The day before yesterday I was driving through General Paz highway.
About 4 PM, not a lot of traffic but still several cars around.

Minding my own business as usual when suddenly the car in front of mine starts slowing down (little red flag in the brain went up), and from the front passenger’s window a guy pulls most of his torso out of the window and points towards me with something in his hand, at first I thought it was a weapon, but instantly recognized the deodorant kind of bottle shape that protruded from below.
He started spraying my windshield with foam!
The instinctive thing to do would be to hit the brakes, but given the speed and cars near by, it would have been a big mistake.

I already had my gun out, so I went right and got close to the AH, pointed the gun to his face. (AC doesn’t work so the window was down)
He made the usual “entire life flashes before your eyes” face people put when you do that, eyes opened wide, combination of stupidity and surprise look.
He started shouting something to the driver.
They immediately slowed down and disappeared, didn’t see them again.
I don’t know if they wanted to carjack me, or just cause an accident, but being cautious always worked out for me.

Just wanted to share that because I thought it was pretty weird.
People here sometimes get robbed after they throw stones into the windshield, but this is the first time I saw this foam thing being used in such a way.

Let me get this straight: They spray foam at you and you pull out a gun? Wouldn't that have made the situation more dangerous than it needed to be?

The police are no longer there to protect and serve. They only arrive after the fact to make out reports and

I think your actions were justified. People will shoot and kill you for no reason at all. This simple prank could have caused you to wreck and in my book, that's attempted homicide.

I was driving down a one lane country road one night and came up to a truck stopped in the road with it's lights on and engine running. I thought I would be nice and wait for him to finish whatever he was doing and let him continue. I waited for 5 minutes and during this time the drivers actions were seemingly suspicious when he kept looking around. I then backed up 50 feet and scanned the area around me and waited another 5 minutes. At this point I was getting nervous and with no where to turn around I inched my way around the truck. The guy in the truck then takes off and speeds up to me as if he is trying to run me off the road. This cat and mouse chase continues for the next heart pounding 15 minutes and then he suddenly pulls off the road and don't see him again. If I was carrying a gun that night, someone was going to get shot.

There are rather few people here (supposedly) that wear arms.... alright I can fight with a stick but that ain't getting me far against firearms. There must be more 'subtle' way of 'defence', like not getting yourself in trouble?

I may sound silly but I seem to be 'well protected' as I've just never encountered these situations or just left before they arose.

Any thoughts?

I understand what you saying but in my case, this was an ambush for a random car. If I had stayed any longer, my outcome could have been grim.

I once had a revolver pulled on me in a pub in sunderland.Myself and a mate were having a beer one afternoon in this pub and there was just me,my mate and then this bloke walked in with short,blond hair,brown leather and stood at the bar-he started smiling over at me-i ignored him and carried on talking-i remember sting was on MTV talking about rainforests (back in 1990/1 this was).Anyway,i looked over at this guy and he was pointing a gun at me with his coat half opened and smiling at me nodding his head-i didn't know what to do at this point there were two lads toy fighting near to where i was sat-i grabbed their attention and told them about the guy at the bar in a diplomatic manner-they soon stopped their fighting as now he was pointing this gun at them!!Me and my mate left our half drunken beers and left sharply but this was soon after the hungerford massacre in the U.K. My mind just went blank when he pointed it at me-i didn't know him-no-one did-weird and very dangerous situation for no reason!!It goes to show that anything can happen at any time without any provocation whatsoever.

You are right but sometimes you are just in the wrong place at the wrong time! I was a semi-professional pool player for years which put me in alot of bars, all over the US, in alot of weird situations, and never once had any problems! I mean some of these bars were on the very wrong side of town (if ya know what I mean), I was lucky I guess, had a few problems, but the smartest man always walks away from confrontation! Game of pool anyone? HaHa LOL!

For what it is worth this is my take. You attract to you what you create. If you wear arms, be prepared to use them because you will CERTAINLY attract the situation where this is necessary. We create our own reality and these types of incident are a result of your reality created by you.
I am probably wrong, but that's my thought on it anyway.

Seeing as how this is my first post here let me add a little to this response, even though it may not address the primary subject at hand.

I have been reading a lot of the posts and it was 50-50 as to whether I joined this site or not. I tend to follow "the voices within" so went for it even though I had a few feelings of "Why would someone post such nonsense here, I thought this was supposed to be the ground crew?" When I read about guns etc I really begin to wonder. I was held up and robbed by 2 cowards with guns, physically dragged from my vehicle, had the one put his gun to my head and pull the trigger. The gun misfired. The would be murderer took off and 2 K's down the road ran into a police road block. They leapt out the car and disappeared into the sugar cane plantation leaving their weapons on the seat. The local farmer had been in touch with the police by radio and knew of the hi-jacking and attempted shooting. Upon inspection of the weapons they dicovered that one had been fired (firing pin indentation on the round) but the wrong ammunition had been used.
Lets recap. I said you make your own reality, wear a gun expect trouble. Why would that happen to someone who refuses to wear a weapon? My own reality, but my own reality left me shaken and not killed.
What is the point I am trying to get to here. Just this. I was harping on about the "ground crew". I don't think too much of a group who still see violent means as an answer, even under the given circumstances. We need to move forward and beyond "self-preservation" and start to think in a more global sense (make that cosmic rather than global). This is not a case of "How can I save my and my families rear-end. This is at a stage now where we have to start bringing global/cosmic help to bear. Let me say it this way. It isn't "What can I do to save me?" but more of "How can I possibly be of help to all of those out there, even them that sleep?" ONLY then will be begin to recreate this mess we call reality into something which will lift us to the next level. We are after all, each and every one of us, a part of the single. We all affect each other and the sooner we get our heads out of our backsides and stop "Playing ground crew games", the sooner we will impact this density and make a difference such that (hopefully) we all move up to the next density.

I better sign off. Nice meeting you folks. Let's be real and let's get rid of our egos as I see a lot of ego in project camelot. As long as ego rules, we are doomed.

Watch out, not a good idea to pull a gun on anyone, there's always someone out there with a bigger gun that will not only pull it but also use it.

Well thank you for the kind thought. That was not me in the story, but Ferfal
the argentine blogger. As a researcher I try hard to bring content relevant to
Avalon and what is happening today.

While concealed carry is on our list, we wish to do it properly which means
a trip to a good school such as Thunder Ranch http://www.thunderranchinc.com/

We do keep longarms in .223 and .308 and we are good enough to be taken
seriously in a dispute. Did I mention that we are also night vision capable?
On our home turf, in a dispute, we own the night. They're intended purpose
is varmints, specifically coyotes.

The only lethal shots I've ever fired in anger were at
chicken killing critters. I hope it stays that way. We
count ourselves members of a peace church. I take it
seriously. Having said that I'm far from being a perfect
pacifist - someone who can stand and pray while his family is being abused. I'm working on it. Until then, the
lead shall fly true.

Now you want to talk about night vision. I can do that
from personal experience. I have a laser that will paint
a target and help illuminate it a quarter mile away. But
you won't see it because it is infrared. We've also got
a really cool heat sensor - a game finder. It's a wicked
wicked tool when slung underneath a shotgun. Listen for
the heat and shoot in pitch black conditions which are
common where I live. Even cover will not hide. It's the next best thing to a ten thousand dollar thermal weapon
scope. I love techie toys. These were before we started
down the luddite path.

I do have one decent story for you. Raccoon vs night vision enabled shotgun. Our chickens are free range. At
night they sleep in a hoop house surrounded by an electric net. They'd been fighting and several had started roosting in our plumb tree which lies on it's side.
We didn't know they were there. At oh dark thirty a raccoon grabbed a couple of them. They screamed like
little girls waking me up out of bed like a shot. Down the stairs nv scope in hand, out the door with the shotgun butt naked towards the sounds. By the time I arrived all was silent as I stalked barefoot down the drive. Scope in one hand shotgun at the hip in the other. Then there he was standing by this tall fir on his back legs watching me. The hen was at he feet, traumatized. I blasted the sucker from 20 feet away, but alas it was just bird shot!
Up the tree he went about half way and stopped looking at me. Now remember, it is so dark you cannot see your hand in front of your face. I blasted him again and up the tree he went this time to a fork about fifty feet high.
He peeked out at me and got a face full of bird shot. That was it, he was gone up the tree.

Here's the best part. That chicken was still alive. He'd grabbed her by the head and ran with her to his tree and didn't have time to kill her. It took three weeks of dropper feeding for her to recover. Today she's blind in one eye and still with us. Tame as can be and a good layer. We call her Miracle. That was a year and a half ago.

It has visual and audio mode. As a defensive weapon it
is an unfair advantage. Slung underneath the barrel of
a shotgun, ear plug disengages the LED display and you
get a geiger counter tone in your ear when it points at
heat. Steady tone means shoot. Here it is!

All you'd need would be a thin opaque screen to sit behind to allow the heat sensor to do it's thing. It could
also be used offensively, but would require much practice
to sort out false positives. This also has the visual/infrared laser pointers which are bright enough to use as an illuminator. Used by a spotter/ sniper team
mounted on a spotter scope it would be bad news. It emits nothing unless you turn on the laser. Not bad for
off the shelf.

Flir thermal vision blows generation three night vision away. It can even "see" through smoke
