Get on utube and LOL. A reporter in Iraq just shot his shoes at Little King George's head, good aim too. I noticed that there was little to no reaction from his body guards. I have to say, George knows how to duck!!!
It is a great insult in Iraq to throw your shoes at someone, he also calls Bush a dog when he does it, another great insult. This is too crazy to miss. Peace of Mind, Wormhole |

To unloose one's shoe and give it to another was the way of confirming a contract in ancient times.
The reference to the shoe in the First Degree is symbolic of a Covenant (a promise) to be entered into. Ruth 4: 7-8: "Now this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe and gave it to his neighbor: and this was a testimony in Israel In the Third Degree, the symbolism is altogether different: Third Degree: Removal of Both Shoes When On Sacred Ground Discalceation: Discalceation is the ceremony of the removal of both shoes as a token of respect when we are on or about to approach holy ground. Exodus 3:5: The angel of the Lord, at the burning bush, exclaimed to Moses: "Draw not nigh hither. Put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standeth is holy ground." Josua 5:15: "And the captain of the Lord's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standeth is holy." ![]() ![]() Last edited by 777 The Great Work; 12-16-2008 at 12:44 AM. |

ahhhhhhhh but in Islam, hitting with a shoe is THE greatest insult short of placing a Koran on the dirt and peeing on it.
The shoe to the head is way way worse than anything else he could of done or said. To beat a horse, you use a rod, to beat a dog, you use a stick. To beat a man who tramples your faith and friends as if they were worthless dirt upon the floor? remove your shoe and beat him soundly. |

Now that's interesting. Care to take a stab at what the contract was in this event? Bush has made a lot of enemies, and it appears as though they are putting him in the LOF. Like I said, I din't see anyone going out of their way to protect him (except the fast arm deflection). Interesting.

He called him a 'filthy mangy dog'.
I know many Muslims from north afghanistan and Iraq, and believe me, thats the very last ever phrase ever muttered to another human being short of pulling a gun and drilling him. It is as they say 'a last warning before violence'. |

He threw the left shoe first then the right.
In short, Bush just got a stark, absolute warning that there is no options left for further actions bar violence. I believe in Arabic terms Bush 'just got his fortune told'. |

Here's some more info... BAGHDAD (Reuters) – The Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at U.S. President George W. Bush has become the talk of Iraq, hailed by marchers as a national hero but blasted by the government as a barbarian.
The little-known Shi'ite reporter, said to have harbored anger against Bush for the thousands of Iraqis who died after the 2003 U.S.-led invasion, had previously made headlines only once, when he was briefly kidnapped by gunmen in 2007. TV reporter Muntazer al-Zaidi remained in detention on Monday, accused by the Iraqi government of a "barbaric act." He would be sent for trial on charges of insulting the Iraqi state, said the prime minister's media adviser, Yasin Majeed. His employer, independent al-Baghdadiya television, demanded his release and demonstrators rallied for him in Baghdad's Sadr City, in the southern Shi'ite stronghold of Basra and in the holy city of Najaf, where some threw shoes at a U.S. convoy. "Thanks be to God, Muntazer's act fills Iraqi hearts with pride," his brother, Udai al-Zaidi, told Reuters Television here's the link for the rest of the article http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20081215/...raq_bush_shoes |

Oh ****.
This is organised. This wasn't spur of the moment thing, this IS an absolute act of organised 'resistence'. I am going to say 'all bets are off'. Some thing is coming. |
