Faked Alien Invasion: Truth, Disinfo, Or...?

In reference to a possible faked alien invasion on October 14th ----- I have recently read several articles on a spirituality forum which state that they have channeled information from allegedly human-friendly aliens. The message that they claim to have received was that on October 14th, the aliens will allow their "mothership" to be clearly seen in the skies for a period of three days.

Knowing how rampant mis/disinformation is at the moment, as well as the government's infiltration into "new-age" groups, sites and forums, the questions that I pose are these:

*Could the government have knowledge of a potential time line in which benevolent aliens do, in fact, make their presence known to the world on, in this instance, October 14, 2008? Could the government be planting seeds of doubt in preparation for this event? Could the faked alien invasion be disinformation --- a cover, a ruse, a way to distract from the truth?

*Could the channeled information be an outright lie? Could the government have the plan in motion to deploy the faked alien invasion on October 14th and are using these spiritual/new-age forums to bolster their agenda?

*Could the channeled information that portrays the aliens as a benevolent group be false? Could the aliens actually be malevolent and are using these new-age sites to deflect from the truth, to wear down the discernment of the people?

I would be very interested to hear any thoughts concerning this alleged October 14th UFO sighting, as well as comments/advice/insights concerning the complex topics of mis/disinformation, government infiltration and discernment...
