I'm inclined to go with the "schoolhouse" metaphor. We're the unruly adolescents who haven't learned how to behave like normal civilized adults yet. Bob Dean used a similar description in the most recent "futuretalk" discussion. Yes, it seems that visitors are allowed within certain limits, but those limits seem to be changing and we will have open contact "soon".

Greed, selfishness, fear, it really doesn't take that much. Saying "the devil made them do it" (or some other evil force), gives the truly depraved people of this world an excuse they do not deserve to have. I don't buy it.

Focus on what the forces for light are doing and things make more sense. Paranoia is not the way to understanding.
